hey good afternoon so hopefully this answers your questions i'll start with the important things uh for someone who's at this point in their ocs career so you asked about the goal braid um that goes on the pants so it's going to go to the front of that hip pocket there all the way down to the bottoms of your trousers but literally directly centered over that seam that's already there on your blue pants your blue trousers moving along to the jacket with the jacket uh you have to ask yourself there's two different ways you can go about it all right you can get a whole new jacket which is what i wanted to do but i got a weird size so i couldn't find a new jacket in the timely manner so i just took my old uniform my old jacket and had it converted to an officer one so in with what i had before being being enlisted you're gonna have your rank on the shoulders here on the arms all right so that's gotta come off which mine is already as you can see then also you're going to have like a flap on here excuse me flat shoulder flap that fits in and is hooked to your shoulder with a button so you got to get those removed and have these little metal clips put on for your officer rank so with that those clips should be put on so that your rank your officer rank is in line with the seam on your shoulder so i'll show you one over here other one because it's already in but you see how the seam is literally lining up right offset with the rank itself the shoulder board okay um then also moving along to the wrist i guess we won't call the the braid that goes on your wrist there um right now it's probably all gold i want to keep that there just for now because more than likely you don't know your branch but when you do know your branch you have to get the right one the right um braid sleeve for your wrist and you gotta get the right color so with mine it's light blue because of uh infantry um you know every branch has a different color so make sure you get the right color because i know they look kind of funny when you buy them in the store so um just say it on the container when you buy it moving along to the lapels here you're going to want to put your branch insignia on both lapels here there and there along with the us and that's going to be both those are going to be centered uh on this little notch here so it's going to be the us is going to be 5 8 inches off of the notch and your branches signal is going to be 5 8 inches below the notch so putting these together for a while so i invested in a ruler here which actually has the little measurements on there so you can actually get up on your lapel and have it almost exact you know as steady as a human hand can be all right so it's 5 8 5 8 inches above the notch for the us and 5 8 inches below the notch for your branch insignia moving along to the where's left you're going to have your ribbons you want to make sure those are in the right order of precedence you can go to easybuilder.easyrecorder.com or rackbuilder.com and literally put in the ribbons that you have and it should spit you out a picture of how they should look but in general the most important ribbon is going to be to the top of the rack and the least important room is going to be to the where's bottom left all right so that's the right or the where's left side and then to the other side of the uniform the wearer's right side you have your unit awards i probably don't have those now because you don't know what unit you're going to be in so don't worry about that yet um but if when you do get there these are going to have to be 1 8 of an inch above the top flap of this pocket here centered on your on this buttonhole here for me it's easy because i got a last name of five letters in it so i just center everything off the eye in my last name this pin here is your regimental crest so every unit has a different regimental crest that's going to be a quarter inch above those unit awards um again if you don't have unit awards it's going to be a quarter of an inch above this top flap of the pocket moving down on the pocket itself if you have this is called the combat service identification badge so if you're deployed you have one of these it's got to be centered on the pocket so it's easy to use pretty much the bottom flap of that pocket to the bottom of the pocket and let's see here move it along from the jacket i think that covers most of the jacket [Music] when you do go to commission you're gonna you have to get a service cover so i had a enlisted service card before with this dark blue and yellow braid on the hat which would go right here but you get to get your branch braid color for the hat on top of here on your hat itself um so they have to remove this and put this one on and then if you have one of these in your enlisted you got a black strap that will go on the hat that's going to come off and you got to get a gold strap um let's see here um also with the service cover you had to get officer crest if you had the enlisted one you had this guy on there before let's see and i think that is everything but hey if you got any more questions just let me know um and i'll be willing to help you out oh yeah the beret too so again once you actually commissioned you got to get that gold bar and put that on the flash of the blue flash of the beret instead of whatever unit one you had there
