to choose the needful thing the right thing thank you father thank you lord on this day that is your day we will rejoice and declare the needs lord as we sit at your feet love jesus because we want to be serviced with by you lord serviced by your word that as we go out into the week lord we will be true representatives of you lord jesus father lord almighty we bring ourselves at your feet lord jesus service us with your word this morning empower us for lord that we will go out lord jesus and represent you well lord feed us with fresh grace all along transform us refresh us renew us oh lord in the name of jesus the reason why you've called us god you saved us to serve others to serve you to serve people and so lord jesus we want you to show us this morning again learn how to serve you how to serve you better lord unto the glory of your name we thank you lord jesus speak to us holy spirit none of me but all of you because you are the one who has called us you are the one who can show us the way the effort declare your word unto us teach us this morning mothers by your word and the entrance of your world give knowledge and understanding to us so you'll be all the glory father in jesus mighty name we have prayed amen amen amen in jesus name [Music] is is lord we worship your holy name thank you lord as we offer our hands to you lord we offer our lives to you lord let me eat a swiss merry sacrifice amen amen amen hallelujah i want to say happy sunday to you all and thank you for joining um the service this morning uh our bible fellowship as we sit at the feet of jesus immersing ourselves into his word into his word because we want to be refreshed and let me tell you the reason why we attend sunday service you know like this is for us to be serviced that's why they call it service when you take your car you know i've repeatedly said it and i will not stop saying it so that we know the reason why we are gathered you know jesus has called us to spread the good news um of the gospel to all the nations of the earth this morning we could have just gone out to spread the good news you know but he says today is his day you know we don't want to spend a time in church or a time in his presence and all we are doing is you know just thinking that we have come to just socialize no we have come to be serviced so that when we go out into the world you know as for monday and tomorrow we go to our various places of of of work we are maybe we work from home everyone we come in contact we will be true representatives of jesus that is the reason why we convert you know to sit at his feet on a day like this to listen to him so that we can be properly serviced and we can receive new oil you know when you pour in you pour oil in your engine the oil keeps your engine moving you know it helps your engine to run smoothly so that is why we are here to put oil in our engine so that our engine can run smoothly you know that jesus will take us if we prune us and we take every aspect of our of of us anything that needs to be addressed he will address it so that everything can work perfectly that is the essence of coming together on a day like this to listen to the word of god to worship him and there is power in congregational you know and service something like we could sit in our various homes you know we could say well why am i why am i here you know why why don't i read the bible of my own but the bible says in the book of hebrews chapter 12 if you read towards the end he said you have come to the to the congregation of the just men made perfect the congregation of what just men who are the just men the righteous people those that have died in the lord and those that are leaving any time we converge like this is a congregation of just men made perfect which means as you are here you know there is an encouragement hebrews chapter 12 verse 1 he says since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of weaknesses let us run with perseverance the race that is set ahead of us looking unto jesus the author the publisher of our faith this morning i was praying the lord reminded me i was praying i was just giving thanks and then what came again jesus the author and the publisher and each time i come up you don't talk man somebody purposely says the author and the perfecter or the author and the finisher but i love the word i love the word publisher the offer is the one that authorizes is the one that lights our life and is the one that we publish us publish us you know the work of the publisher go and read it that you will know what jesus does for us he will know what jesus starts for us so that is why we are here our author is writing the story of our lives and he wants our inputs that are sunny days he wants to impute into our story so that when we go out there we are published we are published we are accomplished people men are women of god children of god to declare the glory of the lord so that is why we are here and so we continue with our treatise on service remember we be treating the currency of service service so today we are going to look at it we're going to look at what do you serve with if you say you want to serve or god says you should serve what does he expect you to serve with what does you expect you to serve with so what are we going to start with so and by the grace of god i will look at how do you serve as well how do you serve remember last week last week quickly we said the different ways of service of serving we said we can serve in the church you sought by ministry to the needs of the saints we can serve in our community you know you serve in the church you serve in the community or you out and you serve a leader you there is always a leader god will place above you not above as in such but god wants you to such a person there is always someone if somebody says i can't serve anyone they don't expect anybody to serve you so there is so these are the three ways that we can serve so today we are going to learn um about i mean what do you start with we are in section here section here this morning what do you serve with so if you're going to serving the church if you're going to serve in your community by taking care of you know orphans the needy the homeless you know joining community groups to serve your community or maybe you are going to serve a leader what do you serve with what do you serve with so number one you serve with your gifts what did i say you serve with your gift your gift there is a gift in you there is a talent that god has given to you you serve with your gift let me tell you the devil does not give gifts what did i say again the devil does not give gifts god is the giver of gifts the holy spirit is the distributor of git but unfortunately today many people serve the devil with their gifts you see many talented singers many talented actors and actresses many talented publishers so many talented people they serve the devil rather than serving god so we are to serve the lord with our gift we are to serve our community with our gift so that is the number one way to serve how to serve i mean what do you serve with that is what we are looking at section here with your gift the bible says improve us the bible says in proverbs proverbs chapter 18 verse 16 proverbs 18 16 it talks about he said your gift exactly that you know how to do better proverbs 18 16 says a mask it makes room for him a man's gift is what is what will make room for him but in the book of first peter chapter 4 verse 10 let me read how the lord encourages us to serve with our gift first peter 14 the bible says just as each of you has received a special gift what what is it what kind of gift a special gift special decides that it is unique what you have another person will not have it there is something special that god has given to you and you need to serve with that gift so just as this one of you must receive a special gift are spiritual talent and ability graciously given by god employ it what you say you are an employment what is it you have been um giving a job isn't it and what employ it employ your gift make use of your gift in serving one another in serving one another are good service as good stewards of god's multifaceted grace faithfully using the diverse varied gifts and abilities granted to christians by god's unmerited people god has given us special abilities each and every one of us has brought special abilities but these abilities god expects us to serve him to serve him so your gift is that thing you know how to do better than others that is your gift your gift is that particular thing you know how to do you are just inclined towards it you love to do it when people if they don't pay you you do it you use it you are constantly doing something in that area your gift exactly you know how to do better you know let's look quickly at some stories in the bible studies of people who suffer with their gifts and in serving with their gifts their gift brought them to limelight remember i said jesus is the publisher of our faith if you want jesus to publish you you two must start to serve if you ought your gifts if you say well i'm less concerned you know there is no publishing for you jesus is not going to publish you so you need if you want jesus to publish you to be the publisher of your faith start to serve with your gift if there is not this man they called after h.u.h.a.m after in the book of first kings 1st kings chapter 7 verse 13 to 14 14 verse 13 to 14 let me read king solomon then had for a man named urab to come from town it was half israelite since his mother was a widow from the tribe of naftali and his father had been a craftsman in bronze from thailand who ram was extremely skillful and talented in any work of bronze and he came to do all the meta work for king solomon for the temple solomon was building the temple a magnificent temple as a matter of fact they've tried to cause that thing to cause it in today's um currency or in today's same um what we call it um evaluation but they've not been able to no one can can value it or can cost of that temple because the temple was laid with god all the things they were led with gold but do you know who did the bronze walk it was a guy called ram of it was not even from israel it was a man outside the bible says when a man uses his gift he will start before kings and not before bear men but it was even the king that looked for quran because ram was talented how did the people know that iran was talented who has been using this gift he has been starting with his gift then the king king solomon you know he was the wisest king the wealthiest king the bible says it was not iran that applied to king solomon say i want to work in the temple it was king solomon that went to look for him so serve with your gift serve with your gift the story of joseph is a popular story in the book of genesis chapter 41 verse 12 to 14. the bible says there was a young ibra man genesis chapter 41 verse 12 to 14. the bible says there was a young improvement with us in the prison who was a slave of the captain of the guard we told him our dreams and he told us what each of our dreams met and everything happened just as he had predicted i was restored to my position as scorpio and the chief breaker was executed and impelled on a poll pharaoh sent for joseph at once pharaoh sent for joseph at once and he was quickly brought from the prison after he shaped and changed his clothes he went in and stood before pharaoh joseph served prisoners with his gift joseph did what he saw prisoners those whom he could not even expect anything in return he served them with his gift and at the end of the day when he sat for free he volunteered his gift to them at the end of the day the man that was what brought yourself from that prison to the goddess serve with your gift in the community south in the church south that area that the knowledge has been taught in your heart to complete serve with your gifts because when you serve that is what we bring you to so to the limelight that is where your publishing is from david also quick story about david another man who sat with his gift the bible says in fourth samuel for example chapter 17 chapter 16 verse 17 to 18 4 samuel chapter 16 from verse 17 to 18 and verse 20 to 22 i will quickly read first samuel 16 17 to 18 and verse 20 to 22 all right saul said find me someone who plays well and bring him here one can you please listen one of the servants said to saul one of jesus son from bethlehem is a talented heart player not only that he's a brave warrior a man of war and he has good judgment he's also a handsome young man and the lord is with him see this man he was one of the servants of saul one of the officials of someone was looking for a half player someone that would play music for him and as he was asking his officials who will i get who who would play for me the one of your features said i know somebody i know someone his name you know is one of the sons of jesse look at him they are looking for a player but look at the credential look at what this man said of david he said a talented a player not only that he is a brave warrior a man of war he has good judgment he is handsome and the lord is with him and i bet that this man had seen david play in the neighborhood maybe a local wedding or maybe a local enemy ceremony maybe a small ceremony the community he has seen they didn't play that was the reason why he was able to stand before the king and say let me go and call one of the sons of jesse because is this is this is this in fact all the full credentials all right let me tell you i also have a story of serving it's your gift i remember my first job after my university my first job i was not there i didn't even know them i didn't know the press i didn't know where they were discussing me i was just fresh out of university a young woman a young lady and none of a sudden i got it i mean i got um they sent someone to me to to come to ibada from i was living in elephant nigeria to come to ibadan for an interview i did not know i did not apply like david did not apply to king sauls and um i mean king saw them and company i did not apply joseph to did not apply it was someone that recommended it because joseph said with his gift so this person i didn't know the time they they sat down to discuss me and so i just knew that i was caught and then i went and then they interviewed me and that was it and i got the job and you know what they said they said you know why after the interview they said you are just exactly how you've been described the person that described you you in fact you exceed our expectation why the person that recommended me was a pastor in the church i served as a youth leader a youth leader in the church and that was some several miles away from where they were discussing me in another town so i said but i suffered with my gifts then when it was time for me you know when i finished uni i did not even suffer for one month if i got a job where everybody would be looking for jobs and i even got a very good job serving with your gift your gift is important because you don't know where that gift will lead you everyone has given a gift that will lead them to the top you have been giving your gifts that will lead you to the top so start serving with your gift thank you now that is the first way what do you serve the lord with what is the first thing you serve the lord with your gift the second thing is your time your time serve the lord serve people serve the community with your time is precious you where you have your gift and you serve with your gift the time you are using for serving your gift is precious so as you start with your gift you are saving with your time don't say no i can't give my time i can't give my time i can please stop with your time serve with your time because when you god quantifies the use of our time and that is what he uses to even repay us every time you spend serving people can never ever go to a west the bible says in the book of hebrews chapter 6 he said god is not unjust as to forget your labor of love god is never unjust is not unfair is it fear god when you suck with your time it will multiply you so serving with your time the bible says in ephesians chapter 5 verse 15 to 16. ephesians chapter 5 verse 15 to 16 say look carefully then how you walk live purposefully and worthily and accurately all right live purposefully and worthily and accurately not as the unwise and witness but as wise sensible intelligent people making the very most of your time buying up each opportunity because the days are evil make very good use of your time instead of wasting your time on frivolities on what will not bring um value to you the bible says don't behave like the foolish people don't behave like you're wise uh he said but behave like the sensible intelligent people making the most of your time serve with your time serve always find room to serve always find room to serve serve in the church serve people serve the community always have them to serve because servants are leaders servants are what leaders if joseph did not serve the people with his gift he would not have come to the position of leadership you need to serve with your gift sir because it is in service that people will notice you people will notice you serve with your gifts all right volunteer your church volunteer your community volunteer to serve a leader attract yourself to service what you give is what you get find time to stop don't let all your time be for yourself don't hurt your time trust me myself my family find time volunteer everywhere all right how waters you start with you sub with your resources number three the first one you start with your what your gift the second one your time and the third one your resources serve with your resources serve with your resources let me let's read the book of second corinthians chapter eight verse four to five second corinthians chapter four chapter eight verse four to five apostle paul said something here he says beginners insistently for the privilege of participating in the service for the support of the saints in jerusalem not only did they give materially as we had hoped but they first gave themselves to the lord and to ross as his representatives by the will of god disregarding their personal interests and giving as much as they could possibly as they possibly could they said the people the people they were referring to here you know he said the people the philippians said they begged us so he will say god we want to serve you we want to give what you know if you understand who god is let me tell you besides you will serve with your resources when you understand that there is nothing you release god did no god never begs anyone say come and give me come and give me where because he's the owner of heaven and her god is the owner of everything so if you're saying no i'm not gonna give this i'm not gonna keep that we are just shot changing ourselves i don't know whether you understand what shot's changing you know you are supposed to get the fullness up to here but you are now getting lower that is short changing serve the lord with your resources your materials in fact it's come back run around to be the first to serve because the more you serve the more you receive the more you suck the more the lord publicizes you there was this man you know they call him um is who he used to be i mean he's dead now but a very very stinkingly wealthy man in nigeria one day he begged the lord he said lord this blessing is too much because god was just blessing me my blessing in my blessing and you know stop serving and stop giving then i will withdraw my hand and he said lord i can't stop serving you i can't stop giving to total people to you and the lord said well the more you continue to give the more i will pop into you because the law of sowing are reaping is that it can never change it doesn't answer to fasting and prayer the law the inheritance you get from service does not answer passing and prayer are we going fast how we go and pray you are deceiving yourself there are principles in the bible that you need to follow if you want to receive if you want to gain access to things of god see they actually begged us thank you sister tracy for that they actually begged us so you see these people who are so on fire for the lord begging the leaders begging family and their leaders let us serve you let us give to you don't say we you don't want we want to give because they understand that it is only in giving in service that you gain your inheritance it is not by prayer or by fasting or by whipping no matter what you whip there are principles of god that you need to follow so your resources you need to serve the lord serve the lord serve the lord you know the bible says they came of themselves they gave of themselves as they gave themselves because when you give yourself there is nothing else that you haven't thought from the lord there is nothing else you can without when you give yourself so what do you serve with your resources include what your money your materials your properties your time your resources what is within your power to give give to people give to people give to you know serve your community serve your community with it what is within your power the bible says in out of apostles chapter 2 verse 44 to 47. answer apostle chapter 2 44-47 the bible says i know all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had they sought their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need they worshipped together at the temple each day they met in homes for the lost supper and shared their meals with great joy and generosity all the while as they are doing this they are praising god and enjoying the good will of all the people they enjoy the good week everybody loved them nobody could talk any of them nobody could say and they call themselves a church you know everybody loved them the bible says they enjoyed the good will of all the people and each day the lord added to their fellowship those that were being saved you know the more you serve the more you enjoy the good will of god the good will of people there are savitar resources second corinthians 9 12 2nd corinthians 9 12. the bible says bosses for the service that the ministry of this found fund means money of this fund renders does not only fully support what is lacking to the saints but it also overflows in many thanksgiving to god it overflows self serve the lord serve the lord serve the lord this morning and woke up or just praying i know worshiping and i said lord there is nothing i have if i i cannot even claim to anything that this is my own the children i have do i know where they come from you gave them to me any money i have you gave them to me the life that i have you gave it to me everything in me comes from you so what am i going to be taught it's like you give a child um um bread and you are taught you know give it back to me and the chinese says it's mine it's mine i'm not gonna give it to his mind that is how some of us behave serve the lord serve the lord then how do you surf quickly that is our section f how do you suck you know we've talked about what to say with three major areas of what to serve with yourself with your time yourself with your gift and with your resources resources and now we are looking at how do you serve how do you serve the lord when you are serving remember that when you say you are serving people you are serving the lord if you remember that matthew chapter 25 that we read two weeks ago when jesus says when i was not last week the jesus when i was hungry you gave me food when i was thirsty you gave me to drink when i was in prison you visited me when i was sick you prayed for me all this i mean the bible said the righteous asking jesus when did we see you hungry and we give you we gave you food and jesus said as long as you do it for people so all these people say you are doing it for me so when you want to serve the lord how do you serve the root number one you start with all your hearts with all your soul with all your mind you serve with everything not yours don't sub grudgingly serve with all your hearts with all your soul and with all your minds the theology chapter 6 verse 5 the theology chapter 6 verse 5 says love god your god with your whole heart love him with all that is in you love him with all you've got loving with everything love the lord and romans chapter 12 verse 11 romans chapter 12 verse 11 says never lagging behind intelligence a glory is spirit enthusiastically serving the lord something not with the enthusiasm with with excitement romans 12 11 with excitement serve the lord don't serve the lord beggar if god is not a beggar he doesn't beg you to serve him when you serve him you stand to gain he doesn't stand together you are the one that stands to get so serve the lord with excitement number two how do you serve apart from with all your heart serve as unto the lord that's number two how do you serve as what unto the lord because if you are if you are serving and you think you are serving people or you are serving someone you will be discouraged because people will discourage you but if you are serving and you say you have it at the back of your mind that my service is unto the lord then you will never stop serving you will never stop i was hearing the story of catching kuma yesterday listening to some of the summers and so on can you come i love the woman she's full of the holy spirit i was listening and then you know they were talking about the latter part of our life for more than 20 years she had heart problem her problem you know and they said that people without heart problem because her heart grew to be twice the size in her chest even with that she would stand and preach and and and bless people for 3-4 hours she never allowed anything to stop her because if she thought that she was serving people she would have sued at home but she knew that our service was unto the lord he said when they ask her what we want to be remembered we say when i start when i go when i stand before the lord i want to i want to tell jesus that jesus i did all that i could say that is what i want to say to jesus when i met him and i think that should be the cry of our hearts know that we are holding back don't hold back serve on to the lord ephesians chapter 6 verse 7 ephesians 6 verse 7 says rendering service reading with good will as to the lord not to men and colossians chapter 3 verse 23 apart from ephesians 6 7 colossians 3 23 says whatever may be your task walk at it heart healing from your soul as something done for the lord and not for men and not for men those who are discouraged are those who look at men in the church in the community everywhere when they look at people people with their faces will discourage you i used to when my daughter um when she when she used to live and worship worship in church and then she woke up she would say mommy or because she's one of the worship leaders in the teen's church she was saying mommy their faces oh my gosh i said don't look at their faces he said they are faces discontent teenagers don't love to watch him i don't know what's wrong with it i said don't let your faces discourage you you worship the lord worship the lord because if you think you are watching it because of people the faces of people which discourage you so as unto the lord how else do you serve the lord with joy number three with joy serve the lord with joy be joyful any time you are savvy be joyful let joy fill your heart serve the lord with joy psalm 100 verse 2 some 100 verse to say serve the lord with gladness and delight come before his presence with joyful singing serve the lord with joy don't stop the lord jp someone understood number four how do you serve serve the lord with love serve people serve the lord with what we've loved left do not always repeat i always say repeatedly let love be the foundation of everything you do with love love sad with love love god love people serve the lord with love galatians chapter 5 verse 13 says serve the lord with love serve he says serve one another in love serve one another in love because god says son love your neighbor love me love people then always you sub number five you sound selflessly selflessly serve selflessly philippians chapter 2 verse 3 to 4 philippians chapter 2 verse 3 to 4 serve selflessly the bible says enough philippians 2 3 4 it says do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit but in humility consider others better than yourself each of you should look not only to your own interest but also to the interests of others far selflessly know with selfish ambition some people suck because they want to be noticed they want to be promoted you also have selflessness god who sees your secret service we promote you openly all right number six how do you serve serve with reference and fear of the lord serve with reference and hear leverage and fear of the lord psalm 2 verse 11 psalm 2 verse 11 says serve the lord with reverend all and worship for fear rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling lest you displease him you don't want to displease the lord so serve the lord with the fear of the lord in your heart start with reverence and fear of the lord number seven serve the lord faithfully be a loyal servant of the lord you know when we say lord you are faithful all god greatly die sexually all god do you know the view of faithfulness hatefulness means commitment loyalty that is faithfulness god is committed to you the bible says it is for your undying love faithfulness that we are not consumed because god is committed to serving you god is permitted to protect you that is why you are not consumed so when you want to serve the lord you want to serve people do it consistently and faithfully committedly committedly do it faithfully faithful service first samuel chapter 12 verse 24 first samuel chapter 12 verse 24 he says be sure to serve the lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart consider what great things he has done for you please if you sit down to remember great things that god has done for you you will never withhold your service from him you will never know where you think of the goodness of the lord what you were before and who you are right now and his great promises for the future for you you will never withhold your service from the lord so serve the lord faithfully faithfully and lastly serve the lord we literally [Music] was the last one willingly serve the lord willingly let your heart be your service do something not compulsory there's no compulsion there don't say if i don't do it people will look at me somehow you know serve the lord willingly because it's willingly when you serve the lord willingly that is why we attract you our inheritance because god sees our hearts god sees the heart he knows those who serve him willingly or those who serve him out of commotion out of necessity serve the lord willingly the bible says in first peter chapter four chapter five verse two first peter chapter five verse 2 say dang no choke god guide unfold the flock of god that is your responsibility not by question or constraint but willingly not dishonorably motivated by the advantages and profits belonging to the office but eagerly and cheerfully eagerly and cheerfully willingly serve the lord don't be motivated by any other thing be let the lord be your motivation let the lord be your motivation because the issue in the world today is that we are motivated by so many things and when that those things are not there we do we lack motivation to serve but when you know that your service is unto the lord you will serve willingly you will not look at what you get or what you don't gain because your labor and the lord is not in vain it's not in place quickly let's remind ourselves how do you stop number one how do you serve you stand with your heart your soul your mind how as you stand you serve as unto the lord thank you how else do you serve with joy with joy in your heart how as you serve with love thank you with love our eggs did you serve selflessly selflessly always do you sound number six faithfully with reference and fear of the lord with reference and feel below you're trying to try all right number seven how do you serve eight faithfulness out [Music] the lord willing me you serve the lord willing serve the lord willingly and to those of you that serve in the lord just know that the time of harvest the time of others is very very near if you don't so you don't read when the others comes what are you going to read what do you want to read when the time of others comes if everything is about you yourself your family you yourself your family and you know the vision god has given to you because it has not yet started because you are thinking what do i gain from it what am i going to get from this serving people hey you know the time of our best is very very good your service is your seed that you are sowing and when the time of others comes you will reap the bible says do not be in galatians chapter six i think verse five he said do not grow with it in well doing he said for him do us you will reap it if you don't think if you don't faint you will reap it so continue to serve the lord i'm trying to say the exact verse yeah we are we are yeah he says you know if you don't think you will repeat you know in due course if you faint not if you faint not please do not think do nothing do not do no you do not stop doing what god ask you to do do not stop it galatians chapter 6 verse 9 he said and let us all be with a well doing for india season what is the deal this thing what is the juices in our zest that is the juices in verse nine thank you galician six nine in due season you will reap but if you have not planted are you not when everybody wants to have anything where is my habits there's no harvest anyway for gain your inheritance you need to serve can we begin to pray and say lord thank you for your word today thank you lord jesus let's give him all the praise all the glory let's worship him let's worship him lord we thank you for your word we thank you lord jesus because once again you've told us what to serve you with yourself we should serve you with your gift you are the one that has given all the gifts father we didn't choose anyway we didn't manufacture the gift we don't even know how it came to be with us you gave the gift to us but you said serve me with your gift and he said we should serve you with our time because those who are dead those who are dead cannot serve you they don't even have any time to serve you again but you have given us the time to serve you keep us alive to serve you therefore we thank you you say we should serve you with our resources oh can anybody claim to have made wealth for themselves or to uncover resources you are the giver of resources when we are coming to this earth we get empty and where we
