others and would always be a cause of harm for others similarly today there are different kinds of demons that have diluted our spirit or that have made us impure so that we do not act according to the will of god the readings today invite us to see how within us today there is evil that becomes an obstacle in doing the will of god dutifully therefore the first thing is for us to pray to jesus and ask him to expel these demons from amidst us so that like how once the demon was expelled out of this man he once again became very clear about his duty and he asks jesus can i be your disciple and shows his readiness to do the will of god it us also pray that we may become ready to do the will of god by shedding all the uncleanliness that is within us and by getting rid of all the evil spirits that have kept us possessed the second point is dear friends the gospel portrays to us beautiful symbols that are hidden within the passage that was directed to the early christians in the in our life therefore let us pray during this mass that we may be able to identify and discern if there is uncleanliness within us if there is anything that is evil that is obstructing us from doing
