you may not be from California but you're trying to book a state campground here or you are from California and you want to book a state campground this is reserved California I'm going to show you how to use it step by step and I'm gonna show you how to kind of hack the system a little bit so you can get the site that you want for the days that you want all right once you've made your account find the place that you want to go camping select the date that you want to go camping I picked November around Thanksgiving and then I selected my length of time and I picked 14 days I'll explain why I pick 14 days later on in the video now once you do that you're gonna see green and red come up obviously green you can book read it says check availability if you want to learn more about the park click show more under the park and you can read the description that California puts now go in to the green find a camper with a green circle around it you can click on it it'll tell you all the site specifics this pad is for length is 30 feet it's got partial hookups which aw means electricity and water okay you have it's a back in site there are no pull through as here at Silver Strand check-in time is at 2 p.m. and they are very strict if you show up before 2 p.m. you're gonna be camping out in their parking lot until 2 p.m. when they let you check in it's kind of like a parade now once you go to the reserve you can see that that particular site is 50 dollars it's in the second row first row is a little bit more expensive there's $65 I'll show you what a real reservation looks like at the end so you can see now I had somebody tell me that you can't put forty five foot motorhomes at Silver Strand State Beach that's not true if you can overhang and you're not a complete jerk when you check in the camp Post will probably let you do an overhang you have to talk to the camp oh so you go ahead and make your reservations often than not they'll let you hang over I see it all the time down it's over straight now this is Point Mugu this is a good campsite this is on my main page at Papa Drew we really like this campsite it's completely dry camping there's Sycamore Canyon where you can camp in La Jolla we're gonna check out Thornhill that's what the site looks like it's parallel parking right to the beach there are no hookups and it's $35 a night now when you go over to Sycamore Canyon you can get big rigs in the Sycamore Canyon it's a little tight this loop that I'm about ready to circle right here that's where you can go camping with your big rigs I've put my 33 foot rig in there with no problem and extra space for cars the pad length says 33 feet or 31 feet excuse me it's $45 a night and yes you can get a bigger rig in there now this is what reservations look like when you make them I booked Silver Strand State Beach for 14 days I also booked Doheny coming up why did I booked Silver Strand for 14 days because I wanted to be there during Thanksgiving I'll cancel the front part of my reservation and keep the back part of my reservation so I can get the time and the date I want everybody else does that the other thing that everybody does is they have their friends and family members and brothers uncles and sisters all get up at midnight everybody's trying to click on that first campsite it's like a race it's nuts to try and book campsites in the state of California hopefully some of this stuff that I'm showing you like booking 14 days and cancelling seven will help you I hope you enjoyed this if you did give us a thumbs up share us like us and please subscribe if you're new to the channel we're constantly doing these updates and park tours and everything else we appreciate you watching thanks and this is Papa Drew and I am O
