Oh Oh what's going on fellas my name is Cory guys the better known as adventure Adly and I suggest got double football practice today and I'm extremely exhausted right now I gotta do some homework in about 25 minutes but I wanted to sit down real quick and get a chance to talk with you guys on the 10 things every single high school football player needs to do in order to get recruited before we get into the video let's run this intro video today you're gonna be getting a chance to learn about the 10 things all high school football players need to do in order to get recruited starting with number one tip number one you must register for the NC double-a clearance awesome for those of you guys that don't know what it is if you're interested in playing at the Division one two or three level in the NC double-a you have to first apply for the NC double-a itself make sure you guys go to www.hsn House which basically just allows you to be certified to be a NC double-a student athlete there is a small fee that you guys have to pay to be entered into the NC double-a cleaning house but if your family's had a position where you can't afford it there is a waiver opportunity as well all in all this is something I just didn't even know you had to do as a high school football recruit so now that you guys know you gotta make sure you get it signed up to the NC double-a to their class make sure you guys do that matis why that is tip number one now I'm moving on to tip number two tip number two is pretty self-explanatory it has to do with focusing on your grades for most high school student athletes I remember my junior being pretty much the toughest year out of the four years of being in high school simply because I really had no free time during my junior year so for those of you guys that are interested in playing college football and the NC double-a at the next level you got to make sure you got good grades to make sure you can get into the college / University that you're choosing to want to go to if they end up recruiting you the biggest piece of advice that I have for you guys is if you're struggling in the classroom don't be afraid to ask your teachers for help or reach out to the student center and ask if there's any tutors in might be available to help you with your study I've been there and I've done that I know what it's like it's really uncover a little bit ask for help with your classroom if you're showing in a particular area but don't be afraid to do so because how well you do in school at the high school level can really play a big impact and what types of scholarships you may receive from the college / University that you may end up going to play college football I was super blessed to be able to put the position where I had a really good GPA in high school and when I got to the Division three levels y'all know I know scholarship but I was able to get a lot of academic scholarships because of the hard work that I put in in the classroom in my high school years now let's move on to tip number three tip number three fellas this was the toughest thing for me in high school because I could not put on weight and because I couldn't put on weight I couldn't put on muscle I was a skinny boy in high school honestly I'm trying to build like a cross-country runner where we're literally yesterday in practice I calculate how many calories I've burned in the three-hour practice it was three thousand five hundred fifty four calories that is insane that literally means I can go to McDonald's eat like five Big Macs and two big doubles and then I'm still haven't even made up the calories that I just burned off during practice so it's really important for you guys to get in the weight room when you're in high school also with that said getting in the way room also means y'all need to really be having a good nutrition plan because if you're putting in all the work in the way room but not putting in the work in terms of what you're eating for you diet you're not gonna be seeing the results that y'all should be seeing in order to be making sure that you guys are getting those gains so you can be showing those college recruits what you really can do what kind of plate you really are for me personally I just started eating in general I just don't know why I stroll eating but I also really wasn't the type of kid to really learn how to cook so now that I'm in college over the past four and a half years I've really been learning about all different ways to cook so I really want to challenge y'all as well as getting in the white room learn how to cook ask your mom before you head off to college a couple years in advance hey mom how do I cook spaghetti mom how do I cook cereal all right no sir I'm just kidding but you guys know what I'm saying really just getting the chance to take the initiative to start really learn how to cook and fending for yourself is all get paid dividends in the end because a little work you put in in the weight room is really gonna be paying off because it'll work you put it in the kitchen now moving on a tip number four make a list of your college choices that you would love to attend and play football this is a real gray area because if you guys are like me you're going to all these and they're telling you yeah Johnny Johnny Johnny no Johnny chickie lovely JUCO y'all really need to do research in the schools that you're interested in going to if you are not playing football and then I really look into account what it would be like playing football at that school because like I said in my most recent video if y'all got hurt at the school you're gonna be going to for the next four years your freshman year had a season-ending injury could you stay at that school for the next four years that's a big question you guys really need to ask yourselves when it comes to you making your list of college choices that you might want to go to as well as play college football I want to challenge you guys to be realistic but also don't sell yourself short you really have that dream to play at the Division one level or play at a big school like Clemson Alabama you might not have that scholarship opportunity but if you're willing to bet on yourself and go try to walk on on that program y'all better make sure you do so because I know so many people that we regret not getting the opportunity to walk on in Division one school because they rather with for a Division three school yes I'm talking about myself but that's a whole nother story I'm still happy where I'm at now and I wouldn't change a thing but let's get back to what I was saying as well as making a list for all the colleges you want to go to is also important you get the chance to do some research on those schools where they're located about what the cost of tuition is what kind of scholarships they might offer and then also they look at depth in regard to what the football program is like what offense they run with defensive lines look into what major that school has to offer look at what the girls are like at that school you never know right look what the weather is gonna be like there's so many different things that y'all can be really doing some research on in regard to the school list that you guys make that you're interested in playing ball this also does not just mean you make the list of the schools that contact you you guys actually need to do the research and go look at all the different conferences at all the different levels because you never know you might be a d1 guy then you transfer your senior year and not play a lot so then BOOM you're down to the d3 guy like myself but luckily I got the chance to do some research and find a great program here at the end of the day for tip number four make sure you make a list of colleges you can see yourself at at all different levels all different levels o levels because you never know what can happen dressed final years of your high school career in football now moving on to chip number tip number five is really self-explanatory in it of itself because for those of you guys that are wanting to play football to the next level it's a really important you guys get a chance to sit down with good counselors at your high school and talk about your options get a chance to learn about what you need to score on your a CT or your SAT to actually be admitted into that particular school what schools are really hard to get into and which ones are really not hard to get into getting your chances overall build that relationship with your counselor they can also really get the chance to also vouch for you over time as your high school career comes to man so then also potentially even be a reference for you as you're applying for schools also moving forward that counselors really have a lot of experience with a variety of different students that have gone to different schools so they might know someone that is gone to school you're interested in and they might be able to connect you to to then really see if that schools are right there for you now moving on to tip number six tip number sexes men like huge it's a huge must do if you're trying to get recruited to play college football and that is create a puddle highlight it's really important for you guys to get a chance to make a huddle highlight y'all don't have huddle that is really unfortunate but hopefully someone is recording your game so that you can keep track of all of your film getting a chance to make a huddle highlight is super important because then as you're getting a chance to build relationships with coaches from other schools that you're interested in you can actually get a chance to share your highlight obviously right with those coaches so they can get a chance to see who you are as a player if you guys want to know how to efficiently create a huddle highlight comment down below and maybe I'll even get a chance to show you guys what my huddle highlights were like in high school but that's a topic for another discussion you all know what you got to do tip number six make that huddle highlight you guys want some highlights for me to take a look at you can also leave those down in description now as well wanna tip oh dang it now move to tip number set tip number seven has to do all with Bass Pro which basically is the free application for Student Financial it's gonna pull up right here getting the chance to apply for fast bus where you can actually really understand how much you're gonna be paying for college depending on what university you're going to based on I think your family's income but those of you guys that are looking to get recruited as a college athlete especially as a college football player it's just definitely something you guys need to do because when it comes to actually getting a chance to blue look at what school you want to go to and to pay the bills so you don't have student loans unless you're on a full scholar you're really then gonna be having a good understanding of how much money you're gonna need to be spending for that particular school university or how much money you're actually gonna be given from the government as a student summarize tip number seven look up what the FAFSA process is like boom now as we wanted tip number eight tip number eight fellas is huge and that is creating a database of coaches contacts oh my gosh coach Johnny how am I gonna be able to create a database of coaches well as a student athlete specifically as a college football player so as a high school football player you have to become a marketer before you even go to college what I mean by this is you got to be utilizing Twitter Instagram YouTube all these different social media platforms want to reach out to these coaches because they all have those platforms even snapchat and these are some recruits it really got a chance to get to know some coaches through snapchat there's pretty crazy stories out there but y'all really got to be making sure that you're putting your name out there as well as making sure your social media is a good representation of who you are as a personal brand because as you go to these football camps all throughout the country or just in your local region you're gonna get a chance to meet these coaches after the camp better they're essentially just evaluating you and looking for potential prospects and recruits right so it's your job to get their business card after camp and then to start developing a relationship with the coach this is something that's super important if you go out and buy out of the particular camp really make sure you get a chance to chat with the coaches and then also just catch up with those coaches every couple weeks or so to just check up and see how they're doing with their upcoming season and that's how essentially you build that connection in that bond with coaches and also just creating that contact list over time now moving on to tip remember not tip number nine really goes with hand-in-hand with tip number eight because after you develop that coaches contact list you then will be able to get a chance to chat with them in their official and unofficial visits particularly for those you guys are juniors and seniors some sophomores that's really one you guys are gonna be getting a chance to go on visits at colleges and universities that are interested in you as a recruit so it's really important for you guys to get a chance to email recruiting coordinators for each team all you got to do is type in a particular program look at their coaching staff you'll find the recruiting coordinator take their email put it in the email inbox instead of that message saying hey coach I'm interested in getting a chance that you have an official visit at your program here's my filming take is there any way I could come by sometime this season and catch a game and the really good chance to see what the campus is like and boom click send the coach will send back a message he's either gonna be interested in you or not if it's the school you're really passionate about keep pushing keep getting a chance to try to get to know them until they eventually build a relationship with you and then get you on a visit it's all a process one building that coaching database two setting up the official visits this now all leads into tip number 10 number 10 has to do with putting together your summer camp and combine schedule this all goes hand-in-hand with building your coaching database they're actually getting a chance to chat with the coaches about potentially having an unofficial official visit and then also after having those visits getting a chance to attend the camp you're interested in playing ball and really get a chance to show in front of the coaches what you actually are as a player not just what they see on film and what's really important is while you're at these combines and camps it's really important that you pass the eyeball test what's the eyeball test you might be asking so what a football coach looks at you they're not gonna think Johnny's a five eleven hundred and ten pound receiver when you're actually a quarterback you're gonna make sure you're in a position where they look at Johnny and see oh wow Johnny's a 6-3 to 10 quarterback that's ready to go a football at the college level now I'm not saying if you guys are 511 you're not gonna pass the eyeball test but if you're 511 or 510 you better be jacked out of your mind if you're trying to play ball the next level because that's just how it is at these camps and Carmine's coaches are gonna look at you and if you don't pass that eyeball test or gonna be passing you up for the next guy that might be potential parent at about ten dad said y'all that is the ten things high school football players must do in order to give up quickly I kind of wrap it up this video a little bit quick towards the end because I'm getting exhausted I stopped to do some homework or I gotta go to bed tonight but at the end of the day I really hope you guys found some value in this video make sure you guys stay tuned because this upcoming weekend is gonna be our first game of the season at lone universities those are you guys that live in New Jersey or anywhere in that area leave a comment down below I'd love to get a chance to see you guys at the game let me know if you all want any other suggestions for any other videos for me to make and I appreciate for show a little support I'm gonna be wrapping up this video with my eyes closed [Music]
