Signed electronically network installation proposal

good afternoon and thank you for being here today we would like to present our network design solution for the new executive education center let's get started with logical design the new executive education building will be connected to the campus backbone via fiber optic cable the fiber optic cable will also be used to connect to a centralized one Gigabit Ethernet router a centralized one Gigabit Ethernet switch and then from this central switch to all other switches there are two different types of switches available for each floor first is the one gigabit ethernet switch which transmits at one gigabit per second these will be used to accommodate areas with heavier network traffic or areas requiring higher network speeds the other switch is a 100 base T switch transmitting at 100 megabytes per second used in areas with moderate or typical network traffic it is also necessary that space be allocated somewhere in the building to house the centralized router and the server now for the physical design the first floor is comprised of a coffee shop with internet access a lounge with black news feed screens in Wi-Fi a reception desk in a waiting area as well as a restaurant the kitchen and restaurant areas will most likely only have moderate network traffic therefore we have placed a 100 base t switch on this particular side of the floor the opposite side with the coffee shop is expected to have more network traffic and thus has a 1 gigabyte Ethernet switch overall the first floor is a typical traffic area so it will not require an extensive number of access points there will be a total of five access points at the appropriate locations additionally the live newsfeed screens will need a cat 6 copper port the second floor will include a library desk area techno pads a study bar and breakout zones therefore the entire floor is comprised of relatively higher network capabilities we will use two of the one gigabit ethernet switches on this floor to accommodate the higher traffic there are seven total access points available on this floor also because the library has a large number of desktops there will be seven cat6 copper four ports and five cat six copper two ports in this area as well as charging stations for the techno pods both the third and fourth floors will have additional techno pods study bars breakout rooms private and group study areas in a lecture theatre that will accommodate up to 100 people therefore these floors are areas where we anticipate the highest network traffic and will have 2 1 Gigabit Ethernet switches there will also be a total of 13 access point 2 at these various locations to accommodate the high Internet traffic and cat6 to port in the lecture theater for the anticipated desktop at the front of theater the fifth floor will likely have heavier traffic because it will include techno pads lounge areas the study bar a lecture hall that will accommodate up to 60 people and seminar rooms one of which requires video conferencing capabilities because of the anticipated heavy network traffic we will once again have 2 1 Gigabit Ethernet switches this floor will also have a total of 13 access points at these locations which includes an access point to accommodate the video conferencing in order to reduce interference there will also be a cat 6 copper port for the lecture hall next let's look at the security strategy for our network design the first part is the technical security solutions we have chosen TS tech company to supply protection for our network their security solutions include the following aspects firewall management antivirus management antivirus software anti-spam filtering secure wireless and updates and patches now we'll take a look at some recommended security policies such as an acquisition assessments policy remote access policy and a wireless communication policy the acquisition assessments policy refers to overseeing and monitoring the behaviors of posts the network internet and more the remote access policy involves securing the information pertaining to VPNs authorized users external resource usage and personal equipment and the wireless communication policy considers the guidelines for the general requirements of all wireless infrastructure isolated wireless device requirements and home wireless device requirements now for a quick look at the estimated budget this includes the projected cost of the previously mentioned Hardware required for network design as you can see the total comes out to just under $50,000 lastly let's look at the implementation plan and estimated time frames the plan we are proposing will follow Cisco's PPD i/o oh methodology which consists of the following stages first is the prepare stage in which high level conceptual architecture designs are created based on the requirements of the network secondly we move to the planned stage where the details of the network requirements will be laid out and structured next is the design phase this goes beyond the basic architecture and moves into the exact specifications of the reticular network in our case this would include building measurements and exactly where all hardware will be placed then we move into the implement stage this is the actual deployment and physical installation of the design in all involved components and next is the operate stage where the network is used and tested while being observed in order to ensure there are no faults in the architecture lastly is the optimize stage this stage is ongoing and is used to proactively manage the network with the main goal of identifying and resolving issues before they affect the users thank you for watching
