welcome back to callahan's corner where you ask the questions we answer them live right here on facebook so i've got a question that was submitted here jenna wants to know does anyone charge per inch for snow plowing and per occurrence if so how do you show that in the estimate without the grid totaling the prices basically i'm looking for a puzzle that would each line item for example one to three inches of price three point one to six a price and six point one nine inches of price and so on so what i'm gonna do is take this and bump the screen out and show you how to actually build this out inside service autopilot for your snow removal company so as we go in the service autopilot the first thing we want to do is go into the gear icon we're going to go into services and we're going to create those services here i'm going to pull my phone up here so we can actually see what the gentleman asked for and dive in and actually recreate his question here so what we're doing is we're going in we're adding a service so this is going to be uh one to three inches of price 3.1 to 6 and so on different prices so i'm going to go in and create a service here and i'm going to just make it 0 0 0 1 to 3 inch plowing obviously you'd make it a little uh more intricate here but for the example it's just going to be easier for me to pull it up um live on this facebook live here so once we've got that and we're going to show it in snow dispatch and we're gonna have to put a code in there and we're gonna put an estimate now in the rate matrix we are probably gonna go in and grab the quantity times rate and grab the custom field of parking lot square footage if you have it or plowing square footage whatever that may be um i'm going to go in here pavement of square foot to be plowed in this test account and i'm going to say between 1 and 1 300 square feet is a rate of let's just see what he had in here well fictitiously let's just say it's um 150 dollars and we put a budgeted time and cost in there then we'd say every say 100 square feet over the 1300 is an extra dollar fifty um more and then at time and cost if you've got the ideas you're setting this up here for zero to three inch plowing so first uh first service that we've got so i'm going to save and hit new and we're going to build out two or three to show you how to build this out to make it work for you so this next one is going to be 3.1 to say six inches and i'm just copying and pasting for speed and simplicity here but obviously you'd want to put some details in here for the service want to show in snow dispatch again estimate description and rate matrix and we're going to show uh payment of plow and we're going to go once again from 1 to 300. now the second set is instead of 150 is 250 and then every 100 square feet over 1300 instead of one a dollar fifty or a dollar fifty was going to be let's say two dollars and fifty cents and then we're gonna save a new we're gonna do one more to show you how to build this out so what we've done is gone between one and three three point one to six and then i'm gonna go in and do six point one nine inches and we're going to select our income account and snow dispatch service mode is per unit and we're going to put an estimate and the rate matrix once again is quantity rate times visits here and we're going to want to break this down a pavement of plowing area and the square footage range for the base price is the same 1 300 square feet but now we've got a higher level so this is a 350 and every 100 over our thirteen hundred is going to be three dollars and fifty cents now obviously you want budgeted time and cost but for this example i wanna be able to answer the question at hand here before the kiddos get home from school working from the home office now we're gonna hit save now what we've done now is created those three services we're gonna hit the gear icon and we're gonna go in to packages now packages are not designed to do this but this is one way of doing it that the simple growth team has figured out so we're going to go in and put um per push per inch estimate and we're going to grab that in and i'm going to put some zeros in front of it so i can find it quickly on facebook here and we're going to go in and the renewal date i'm just going to make it january of 2021. obviously you'd want to make that to make sense around your plow season maybe august of first of next year would be the appropriate time but we're going to do is go in and add three services and i'm going to go in and grab my one to three inches i'm gonna grab my zero three this three point six to one and then i'm also gonna go in and grab my six to nine inches of plowing and i'm just gonna call this plow level 3 inch for trip price it's going to be at 3.1 6 inch price and this is going to be our inch price and we're going to put a start time in here so i'm going to say october 1st of 2020 to october 1st of 2021 so we're setting up a package it's obviously not going to schedule the package but this is how we're going to work essay to display it in the fashion that we actually want it to do um if you're in service autopilot academy looking forward to actually doing the academy call this thursday breaking down the how to actually go in and do these things in service autopilot and some significant depth so if you haven't looked at service autopilot academy highly recommend you look at it um because this is going to be some groundbreaking um stuff for you so we're gonna go in and get these guys here set up for you and all right and we're gonna stave so apologize we're a little rushed here but this is how we're breaking in uh per inch per trip uh contracts here so we're gonna go in then and i've got another uh estimate template built out here that we did residential plowing with caps so i'm gonna go in and add in our package here and we have that all loaded and apply cancel so we're going to save and close and then we're going to go into our test client and see if this works so traditionally i would test this before i went live here but like i said the kids are about to come home so we're going to see if we can work a little magic here so we're going to go in under the more tab go to property measurements obviously this would be for commercial parking lot you'd also want to with sidewalks and shoveling in the same manner as well but just so you have an idea of the workflow we're going to zoom in to this test account we always use and i'm going to measure the driveway now this is going to work in maps pro or smart maps in v3 here i'm going to label this area snow area to be plowed and save it and then i'm going to go in and select the snow area to cloud you would never have this many custom fields here but obviously in this test account we have quite a few so let me see if i can narrow that down for us here command f all right so let's grab this so we would normally have like four or five years we'd grab it and run with it but um obviously being a test account we've got quite a few of these in here but i'm trying to link it up to the custom field so we can actually see how this actually loads in automatically if not i'll manually push it in but once we save this this is going to automatically take that custom field and drop it right into our estimate template and it will allow us to display it the way we want so for time's sake unless i see it here in a minute um there it is watch right past we're going to save it that comes up our custom field is now saved we're going to scroll down hit add an estimate and if i selected the right grid in this sped up fashion we should have an estimate that will display all the pricing like the gentleman wanted here so let me just double check what he wanted exactly but it was pricing per event so this should work so we're going to go in and hit our template go in and grab our template we've built for residential cap and we're going to go in and our 273 455 and 634 all came in based on the square footage that we've saved of 94.39 um of per push per inch so we've got three separate distinct prices based on the inch ranges here um and we've got that in and we've got everything set up the way we want it to be so we're going to cancel that i'm going to hit draft hit save and i'm going to quote sidewalk plowing as well and you're going to put a thousand square feet or 100 square feet of sidewalk for 25 bucks a visit so we can see what that looks like this is how your salting would look as well based on the square foot range so we're going to go in and hit email and i'm going to pull this up here here's our pre-templated email is set for my email here at simple grow so i'm going to scroll in and hit send and on my other screen here i'm going to pull up my email so we can see what this looks like and i'll pull that over once i get that email so the idea is we wanted to do three different thresholds up to three inches three to under six and six and above uh to nine inches we have separate prices based on the square footage so it's a per push per inch contract and then a set price for the salting per visit or in this example sidewalks same idea though and that's going to be the process here so i'm going to pull this up and make sure that we have everything we need um on my email here on the other screen and once this is up i will pull this up so once again we've got our email here um come that comes in you got three parts an email you gotta ask them an email with a link we're clicking right now an estimate document and then once they accept and sign their acceptance email so as a certified advisor if you need help setting something up like this for your snow removal lawn care or home cleaning we're here for you but the idea here is uh once this loads we've got our per push per inch contract obviously we would want to change the verbiage here and here when we set that up but for speed and simplicity that's how we did it but now we have a per trip price for one six to three one to nine and the amount so they're not selecting per service they're just selecting this here gemini wanted to know about salting but this would be the same idea as residential sidewalk clearing it's a per event uh price here so i can click as the consumer i've got my contract information here for company and customers what they're aware of scroll down accept proposal and depending on the settings of it it would either accept automatically or i would recommend uh to have the acceptance set for auto signature so you have an electronic signature that covers you for slip and fall litigation um and you have something hard on copy or hard copy on file so once again any questions let me know callahan's corner you ask the questions we answer them live right here on facebook how to do snow plowing per inch per push in service autopilot and set that up inside an estimating system that's a turnkey they can be delegated to a virtual assistant halfway around the world or somebody in your office or someone out in the field estimating based on square footage uh we'll see you again tomorrow on callahan's corner you ask the questions we have some live right here on facebook
