Strengthen sign

Hi everybody. So welcome back. Now as you guys know I've been teaching ASL work of the weeks for quite a while now. I've been teaching you a lot of sign langauge, but you might be thinking well how do I get better at it? How do I become fluent in sign language. Well I'm going to give you some tips of how you can improve yourself. Tip #1 Use of lose it! Yes it sounds very simple but obviously if you don't use your sign language often, you're not going to become better at it. It's just going to be like that rusty language that you can pick a few words from your brain, but if you want it to come naturally to you as like I'm speaking now. You're going to have to use your sign language more often. You're gonna have to try and use it at least every week. If you can try everyday. Whether that is watching Deaf people um on videos on YouTube. So your receptive skills where you're watching sign language improves, or if it's actually signing to people. Whether that's somebody that you know, you live with, a co-worker. Um people in your store, or even if you want to, try and get a video pen pal. Maybe somebody that's Deaf that you can talk to through Skype or some other type of thing like that. Tip #2 Hang out with Deaf people! So this kinda goes back to tip #1 "use it or lose it". The best thign that you can do is hang out with Deaf people. Cause that's who's going to use sign language! Now obviously you can hang out with other people who use sign language, but hanging out with Deaf people is going to force you to use the sign language and it's gonna help you to become more comfortable using sign language. The more comfortable you are, the more natural it's going to come to you, and you're gonna improve. You're gonna feel more confident you know signing with out using your voice. You're going to feel more confident using slang words, or a variety of sign langauge. Your sign langauge is going to become more smooth and it's just going to look better in general. The last tip that I have for you is "never stop learning"! Now I know this kinda sounds crazy, but as with any language, you're always going to be learning new signs. That's how you're going to improve yourself. Sign language evolves just like any other language, and the signs that your grandma and grandpa used might not be the same ones that the current generation uses. So back in the olden days somebody might sign phone as "phone". Right you're thinking what the heck?! Well back then, that's what phone was. Now we sign phone as "phone" because it's like, you know a phone. So as you can see, if you want to become better at sign language, you're just gonna have to keep learning. There are so many different dialects of sign language all through out the United States. There are different sign languages through out the world. So you're never gonna stop learning. The more you learn, the better you're going to get and you'll just love it even more. Alright guys I hope you have enjoyed today's tips to how to improve your sign language and that you actually incorporate them. All of the signs that I've been teaching to you. Go out, use them, meet Deaf people. Keep on learning. You guys you will get better. It takes time. I didn't become fluent in sign language overnight. It took years and years. I went to college for it. I live with a Deaf person. I'm married to a Deaf person. Like, it just takes a lot of practice, and I'm not perfect. Nobody is, so just keep going at it. You will get it. If you guys have enjoyed todays video, please hit the like button below. If you are using any of the tips. I really hope so and if you're not already subscribed please subscribe to this new channel! This is where all of my sign language, my Deaf skits, anything related sign language/Deaf people/ASL blah, blah, blah, blah, blah will be here. They will not be on my main channel anymore. So please hit the subscribe button so you keep getting these videos and I'll see you guys in the next video. Bye everybody!
