Zip Package Method Step 1. Locate your course’s Content Collection. Under your course’s navigation located on the left, you will find an area that reads Control Panel. Select this link in order to access the Content Collection. A submenu will open and you will see your course’s ID Number; For Example: CEL-SAMPLECOURSE-TUTORIALS. Select this link to enter your course’s Content Collection. Step 2. Create Zip Packages. Keeping your course files under designated folders assists you with version control, organization, and identification of course material. When used correctly, it is a time saver and essential to content management. Before you begin uploading to your course, on your computer you will need to create all your file folders, fill them with the appropriate course content, and then compress the folders into Zip Packages. To create Zip Packages, on a MAC, complete these steps: 1. Go to your computer’s desktop screen. 2. Using your mouse, right click OR press CONTROL + YOUR MOUSE BUTTON. 3. Select NEW FOLDER. 4. Name your new folder appropriately. 5. Begin moving files into your new folder. 6. When you are finished, use your mouse and right click on your new folder OR press CONTROL + YOUR MOUSE BUTTON. 7. Select COMPRESS “Your Folder Name”. 8. You now have a compressed zip package ready for upload. To create Zip Packages, on a Windows PC , complete these steps: 1. Go to your computer’s desktop screen. 2. Using your mouse, right click. 3. Move your cursor over the word NEW. 4. Select FOLDER. This creates your new folder on your desktop. 5. Name your new folder appropriately. 6. Begin moving files into your new folder. 7. When you are finished, use your mouse and right click on your new folder. 8. Move your cursor over the word SEND TO. 9. Select COMPRESSED (ZIPPED) FOLDER. 10. You now have a compressed zip package ready for upload. Once you have completed preparing all your file folders and compressed them into Zip Packages, you will be ready for the next step, uploading. Step 3. Begin Uploading. Return back to Blackboard and your course’s Content Collection. Move the cursor over the Upload button on the top left hand side next to Create Folder. Two selections appear, Upload Files and Upload Zip Package. Select Upload Zip Package. You are now in the Upload Zip Package page. Here you will be able to choose the zip packages you created from your computer upload into your Content Collection. To begin, select Choose File / Browse in order to access your computer. In the new window, select the zip package you would like to upload and press Open. Your selected zip package is now ready for upload, simply select either Submit button located on the right hand side. Your selected zip package is now a folder in the Content Collection root folder.
