hi there my name is Colin Thompson Amy along sport officer for the business school mmm you and it's the second in a series of just two videos explaining how we can upload marks from a spreadsheet into Moodle gradebook and in the last video I downloaded this spreadsheet we've got in front of us and it had two blank columns which one for the assignment mark and one for the feedback and you'll see that I've never in some random marks and they're very basic feedback and what you could do is you could get a list of all your students from Moodle in the spreadsheet and then you could fill in their marks strange lat spread sheet however you might already have your work in the spreadsheet so what you could then do is just take the titles of these columns and the important ones are the assignment and the feedback ones and I'm the ID number and you could put them in as the column titles in your spreadsheet we just have to make sure that the ID numbers which we're going to mark or we're going to map to and need to be exactly the same as they're on Moodle so you might find that some of them begin with a zero which is knocked off we have to get that zero back in by setting their home to format text em however you don't need the exact same spreadsheet what we could do is we could delete out some of these columns so I'm just going to take that first name and surname and delete them and I'm going to take home an institution Department and email address I'm just going to do them and now all I've got as I've got these three columns ones ID number ones the assignment and Mark and ones your assignment feedback so you you can see how you could perhaps manipulate your own spreadsheet just to match this now the way that we upload into Moodle into the gradebook is we save as what's called a CSV file so I'm just going to go with this frigid I've got and then I'm going to file save as and from the drop-down menu here i'm going to select CSV which is down here and you'll see it's comma delimited co dot CSV file to save that desktop and that's no ready for me to upload so I'll go back into Moodle and just as we did before I'm going to go into the grade book which is under the administration and we've got our wine column for Mme vs demo exam which normally legs not load again from this drop-down menu choose an action which is under the title of the unit we go down and instead of selecting remember the last time is like Excel spreadsheet from export this time we're going to import and we're going to import a CSV file so we have a few options...
