[Music] welcome three minutes and mark this is the last one for this week and we're going to just do an overview of this chapter and end with the last story in this since we only have three minutes two things that have really come out in this book as you look at this chapter chapter six of Mark is you see Jesus exalted for being the son of God he's the Messiah he's God in the flesh he comes and he speaks with wisdom that nobody's heard before in the first six verses but they don't want to receive him for that then you go and they want to believe that he's John the Baptist and there's confusion around who Jesus is even though he's preaching and teaching and speaking quite clearly about who he is oftentimes Jesus multiplies the bread and instead of receiving him as the savior of the world the one who is fulfilling all of the Old Testament promises the one who was to come they want to make him an earthly king Jesus calms the storm and then in verse 52 we find out that even in that moment the disciples don't want to they actually harden their heart towards Jesus which just astounds me and now we come to the last story in this passage where Jesus is in jeunesse route and the people want to come to him as a healer but not anything more I once heard the story of a pastor who was walking through a hospital and he saw a man cried he went up to the man and asked what the situation was the man said my wife is probably dying and the pastor said can I pray with you and the guy was perfectly fine with letting him pray for him but then the pastor said would you like me to go talk to your wife so that she can hear the gospel and have eternal life and the man refused that and really didn't even want to go there with the pastor so sometimes people aren't afraid to go to God for what they desire to have happen but they don't want to come to him as their Savior and we see that throughout this so on the one hand you see Christ is exalted on the other hand you see people just receiving him on their own terms but not as their personal Savior so that's one of the things that we get out of Mark 6 is that when we approach God in his scriptures we need to receive him as the savior of the world we need to receive his message for how he intended it to come across and not how we would want it to come across if we were writing the story and so that's some of the things that come across when Jesus came to this town at the end in janessa right he Moors his boat and this...
