hello viewers here is a general electric caller id phone it's kind of like a trim line style telephone made by atlinx and that is model number 29196ge2-a of course it's made in the china i suspect this was probably made sometime in the 2000s my grandmother used to have a telephone like this in the kitchen it was white and i think these buttons were circular i still have it somewhere it quit working like pretty much everything electronic in the last like 15 20 years that ge put their name on it's just not a very good quality and this phone is probably no exception i've tried to get these open before to clean the buttons and see if i could resurrect that but i don't know how to get these open i've made a valiant effort and it doesn't seem to want to budge the inside of this looks exactly like the other one that i mentioned that used to hang on the wall in the kitchen so anyways oh the other difference was the other one had two two battery slots and it took four aaa batteries and the battery slot one of them i think of the one the left it would never stay on correctly this one has a screw so maybe that would be a little better it's only takes three aaa batteries i'm not going to screw that in just for the video i think these batteries are almost out of charge but they should get us through the testing here looks like this still works okay so let's plug this in and the ring is on high this looks like it may have gotten wet at some point i don't know what happened to that this is kind of odd the canal for the cord it's not a typical design okay i'm going to bring it up now this sounds different than the other one that was in the catch color id does seem to be working testing testing one two three bottom row's okay but the top row is not i'm pressing these pretty hard and they're not working [Laughter] [Laughter] it's kind of weird okay there's enough did it show the numbers on the screen it does it it shows the numbers as you dial them it's kind of a worthless feature all right i'll turn my amplifying thing on here and i will call the test phones hog testing testing one two three this is a test message with the general electric phone with the buttons that don't work one new message and twenty eight old messages message one testing testing one two three this is a test message with the general electric phone with the buttons that don't work it sounds fine let's make an outside call volume level this is one i guess it's going to feed back i want to lower that volume a bit good evening life is complicated we're here to help peoples.com...
