hi guys welcome back to my channel welcome if you're new i hope you're having a wonderful day as always so in today's video we're going to fill out form i-864 the affidavit of support form together it is one of the most confusing forms however this form is actually not as scary as you think i do want to direct you guys to a playlist on my channel specifically dedicated to this form please check it out if you have additional questions i do go over some specific parts of the form that could be confusing i talk about some of the most common mistakes i also have videos specifically dedicated to calculating household size where i give different scenarios and i also have videos specifically dedicated on how to report income and taxes and what to do if you don't have enough income what kind of income you can report for the purposes of this form and for now let's get started with this form so this example is going to be one of the most common examples that people typically go over so this particular form will be filled out from the petitioner who will almost always have to be the original sponsor primary sponsor will always have to fill out form i-864 even if they don't make enough income and i will make a separate video for joint sponsors as well so before we begin another question that frequently comes up is the expiration date for the forms as you can see the current form expired on september 30th 2021 this is fine uh uscis just says that you must be using whatever forms are available currently on their website even if this form is technically expired because this is the form the only form that was available on the site you will just have to keep using this one the very top part you can obviously leave blank this doesn't apply to us the very first part you will start here by first of all uh indicating your name as the sponsor filling out this affidavit next we're going to select box 1a i am the petitioner i filed or i'm filing for the immigration of my relative options 1b and c are very rare they happen in very rare occasions option 1d is for joint sponsors so if you are the petitioner you obviously are not a joint sponsor option 1e if there's several joint sponsors as we know there can be two joint sponsors you can select which one you are the first or the second of the two and then one f is also happens rarely when the original petitioner is deceased and there is a substitute sponsor this doesn't happen very often moving on to part two this part is also a part where people frequently make mistake of putting in their own information as the sponsor please keep in mind that this is information about the principal immigrant where you...
