hi guys in this video I'm gonna show you how to use your iPhone to do some calculations with trigonometry and I don't know how every phone works but I know on the iPhone you do have those functions available to you and all you have to do really is turn your phone sideways and if you'll notice on our calculator now it expands out and we see this sine cosine and tangent kind of towards that bottom left so those are buttons we're gonna be used to entering in the calculations also - just as a side note you have to be in degree mode your calculators should default to degree mode if you'll notice in the very bottom left that is there in that rad button that is to push if you push that it's gonna put it into Radian mode and you'll see that rad up here at the very top which tells you that you're calculating in radians versus calculating in degrees so I'll just hit that degree button again it goes away that means I'm in degree mode so you're good to go so to use the sine cosine and tangent to calculate some things here you have to input it on the iPhone a little bit differently that what we do in the calculators at school those ti calculators typically if you wanted to as an example input 25 times the sine of 42 so you have a 42 degree angle on your sides your hypotenuse is 25 you would when you cross multiply you would in to multiplying 25 times the sine of 42 on your ti calculators at school you just input it that way in that particular order and it calculators for you unfortunately with the iPhones it doesn't work that way it's gonna you have to input seems like everything backwards so if I wanted to do that that a calculation of 25 times a sine of 40 - first of all I'd have to enter the 42 first which is the angle measurement then hit sign it gives me the decimal form of that ratio of that sine of 42 and then I would take the multiplication and times the 25 side that I have and you'll see that the answer that equation would be sixteen point seven three I never did the same thing with the the cosine and the tangent as well but the angle first then hit the sine cosine or tangent and then do your multiplier x whatever that side is that you're using also you can do the inverse sine cosine and tangent and just like your the Ti calculators that we have in school they have a second button which kind of gives you access to some of the hidden features and if you'll notice that second button is near the top left here and if I press that then I've got some of these other functions that have shown up so you...
