hello and welcome back everyone in one of my previous videos I mentioned about calculating planned percentage in a project plan we already are aware of the actual completion percentage that's there by default in MS project however I also covered a video which showed you how to calculate plan percentage but that planned percentage was based on today's date all right so what if you want to calculate the plan percentage based on the project status date so for those who are not aware project status date is basically a status date where you set a date and calculate the project uh you know either if this date can be in the future can also be in the past usually it's in the future so it's it's a date when you plan to calculate the project or it's the date where you want to you know circulate your project status report for example so you set this date uh before it's coming for example I right now I can see that the products Saturday was 12. so my next project status date would be let's say Monday so let me calculate or set my date to project my project status date to 2nd of January now I want to see how this is affecting it now basically I have changed this formula to fit a project status date so basically right now before I go through this this column is actually showing the planned percentage as per the project status date as you can see over here so basically what's happening is before adding this uh let me show you you have to uh insert a column so let me just show you one more time and any of the text columns name the column as you like foreign on this column go to custom fields so this is where you can also rename it you name it as the percentage okay and we select formula it will prompt you that if there's anything already there it will be removed you say okay in other words to formula over here and I have this formula copied over here let me explain you once I paste it over here so it's basically checking if the status date is less than the start date so it should be set to zero percent otherwise if the status 8 is greater than the finished date so it should be sent to 100 so any date that's crossing the state status date is cons it's considering that status date uh any task that's uh you know completing on Saturday or before it should be 100 Complete because it's plan percentage okay and it's also calculating the difference uh based on the calendar uh of the duration in case the status is lying on the same date or if in between a task that's going on so this is the formula that will that you can use for calculating uh plan percentage for as per...
