For and in consideration of the mutual covenants contained in this agreement, and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the parties agree as follows: 1. Term Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time with or without cause. 2. Referee’s Agreements Referee hereby agrees: A. To a ttend all required training in the ______________________________ _______________________________ (Referee Associations that provide training) B. To wear all proper attire, correctly as defined by Association rules. C. To arrive at games at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of a game. D. To learn and abide by the current _____________________________________ (Name of Association) Football Rules and Regulations. E. To referee all games in accordance with these rules and regulations. F. To accept the decisions of the ________________________________________ (Name of Association) as final on any issues that involve interpretation of rules or regulations. G. Never to smoke, chew or drink any alcoholic beverages during any games, on any school or park grounds where games are being conducted or while performing any duties under this Agreement. H. Never to use any foul or offensive language in the performance of Referee’s duties under this Agreement 3. Referee represents and warrants: A. I do not and will not use illegal drugs or substances. B. I do not and will not drink alcoholic beverages if under the legal age. C. If of legal drinking age I will not drink to excess. D. I am not at this time and have not been in the last three years under any psychiatric care the nature of which would affect my relationship with the children or parents. E. Referee authorizes any and all background checks required by ______________ ___________________________________ (Name of Association) or any member association and agrees to execute such further documents or approvals as may be required to undertake and complete such check(s). F. Referee’s duties hereunder are non-assignable. G. Referee’s personal medical insurance is the primary carrier and _____________ __________________________________ (Name of Association) insurance will be the secondary carrier in the event of injury while officiating a game. 4. ___________________________________________ (Name of Association) will pay Referees who have officiated for ________________________________________ (Name of Association) for two years or less the amount of $25.00 per game. ______________________ __________________________________ (Name of Association) will pay Referee’s who have officiated with _____________________________________________ (Name of Association) for three years or more the amount of $30.00 per game. 5. No Benefits or Insurance A. Referee is not entitled to any benefits from ______________________________ ________________________________ (Name of Association) or any of its members associations including but not limited to any retirement, health insurance, illness benefits, personal time, vacation, and holidays. B. Referee shall have NO entitlements or claims of any kind, nature or description of sick leave, personal time, vacation, or holidays. 6. Independent Contractor A. Referee is an independent contractor in the performance of his/her duties under this agreement. Accordingly, the Referee shall be solely responsible for payment of all taxes, including Federal, State and local taxes arising out of the Referee’s activities, including by way of illustration but not limitations, Federal and State income tax, Social Security tax, unemployment insurance taxes and any other taxes and business license fees as required. Referees shall not be deemed or construed to be an employee of ___________________________________________ (Name of Association) . B. The Referee shall have entire charge of all management and operations of the Referee’s business; Referee, or the association they represent shall pay all costs and expenses and shall furnish all necessary equipment and attire, and pay all expenses of conducting said business and those arising out of Referee’s activities in accordance with this Agreement. In no event shall ___________________________________________ (Name of Association) be responsible for negligence of the Referee. 7. Indemnity and Release A. To the fullest of its extent permitted by law, Referee shall fully and forever defend, indemnify and hold harmless ________________________________________ (Name of Association) and its subsidiary entities, officers and directors from all claims, damages and losses known or unknown now existing or arising at any time in the future related to the performance of the Referee’s duties under this Agreement. B. Referee hereby fully, finally and unconditionally waives, releases, and discharges any and all claims (including but not limited to claims for injury) now existing or arising at any time in the future against ______________________________________________ (Name of Association) , its representatives, successors, directors, officers and assigns which arise by reason of or are related to this Agreement or the performance of any duties by the Referee.
