And how their interactions with them speak about whom the are as people. Whom you do align and hang out with does speak for itself after all.People and their politics change over time, and with them the labels they describe to themselves change with it. One has seen this over time with Conservatism. Many here on Quora who describe themselves as conservatives are considered by many others to be liberals, even to many liberals themselves; such is the extent of the conservative center shift to the right.
