website at fabulous.finance for more information so today i'm doing a video that was requested by one of our viewers and i said that i would do this video specifically addressing the question they asked and that question is how to get out of early warning systems or early warning and basically early warning is a consumer reporting agency so it is covered by the fair credit reporting act and it's owned by seven of the largest banks in the u.s when you go to open up an account at a bank some banks may check different credit reporting agencies to see what your banking history is you have overdrawn accounts um have you been closed out due to fraud or anything like that whenever you open up an account a lot of banks do check for these things and early warning is one of those um agencies that they may go to check for your banking information i know it could be difficult to open up a bank account if you are in check systems or early warning and today my goal is to help you be able to successfully open up a bank account and get that information out of early warning systems or be able to dispute that information so let's hop right over to the computer so we can get started step one is to order your comprehensive report from ews now when you order your report they usually try to give you the standard report but you want to specifically request the comprehensive report because it's going to have all the details are going to have all the information that you need to know and need to see about your banking history now in order to request your report you're going to fill out this form right here which is called the identification form um or certification form and this basically is a form to confirm who you are and along with this form you're going to need to submit your id now one thing that i really want to mention is that ews will try to collect as much information as possible about you and it's important to keep in mind they are still a consumer reporting agency so you need to really keep that in mind because just like any other consumer reporting agency they can use that information against you now the fair credit reporting act does give ews the right to verify your identity to make sure they're giving the report and the information to the right person um and not to compromise your information but um in order to verify your identity you don't have to give them your employment or your previous addresses your bank account information and telephone numbers and things like that the only information that ews needs to verify your identity is your social security number your photo id which is a government issue photo id and your proof of address such as a utility bill so this is the form that you're going to fill out to verify your identity okay and once you fill this form out you're going to return it to ews now you can do that a variety of ways you can do that um by mail i will say if you do it by mail make sure you always send your important paperwork and stuff via certified mail uh you can do it by fax or you can also upload it to their secure transfer portal now this is their portal you can set up a username and password and be able to access their portal and then you can send files to them electronically okay so once you send this form along with your government issued id to ews they will typically send you your consumer report within 15 days as required by the fair credit reporting act unless your state requires them to send it within a different time frame okay step two is dispute any errors you find on your report so after that time period has passed and you've received your report you want to go over it with the fine-tooth comb you want to make sure all your information on there is accurate if you notice anything on there that's not accurate you definitely want to dispute that information so you'll need to have your supporting documentation things like bank statements any communications with the banks um payment records receipts anything of that nature that is going to support your claims that this information is incorrect if you send it through the mail do not send them your originals make sure you make copies and send them a copy of whatever supporting documentation that you have now i also want to show you guys this now this is the information that you need to include along with your dispute to make sure you have a good valid strong dispute to be able to get your information correct and get that inaccurate information off of your report okay so your written dispute can be sent by mail fax or uploaded to the portal that i just showed you guys now when you do that you must include written reasons for the dispute okay so when you send that dispute to them ews will furnish that dispute to whatever financial institution that reported that adverse information on you for reinvestigation so you want to make sure that your written disputes are very clear and concise and really explain well why you're disputing the information okay so here is a dispute checklist to make sure that each item being disputed includes all the necessary information if you do if you follow this checklist then you should be in pretty good shape to have a good strong case to get your file updated now you want to make sure that you include your the consumer id number which is included on the report a description of the specific information you are disputing such as the aba which is the routing numbers account numbers or the contribution uh reference number the detailed reason for the dispute so why is that information inaccurate or incomplete so you want to clearly state that and then you want to try to provide some type of supporting documentation to support that um you want a separate signed paper for each dispute all relevant details in your descriptions okay and copies of all supporting documentation attached to each dispute so if you want to check this out in more detail i'll leave a link to this checklist in the description box below now step number three now if you went through the ews process and you didn't have luck with that or you had luck with one of the disputes but not the other your next step would be for you to dispute your errors directly with the bank that reported the information on you this is a sample letter that you can send to the bank or the credit union or whatever financial institution reported you to ews you can send them this letter this is just a sample you can definitely change it tweak it however you need it to be for your situation but this is a good example of how you can format your letter i got this sample letter from the consumer financial protection bureau which has some really good information for consumers um so here you are this is the uh sample so you can just copy and paste this into google docs or word or whatever program that you use and make whatever changes you need to make it has some i mean it really covers all the bases if you scroll down a little bit further it does go on to explain how to fill out each section of the template step number four is pay for delete so say you've done steps number two and three you have had some success but not entirely all the success that you want or you haven't had any success step number four is an option for you now this is a pay for delete and what this basically means is that if your report is accurate you didn't find any errors on your report but you want to take care of it you want to you know you want to pay your obligations you want to take responsibility for whatever that's there so in this situation then you could pay the debt in exchange for a deletion um you would need to contact the bank directly whatever bank that has this information in ews on you say for instance your a checking account was overdrawn by like 500 um and they closed your account out because you didn't you were overdrawn and you didn't pay them back so you could call them up and say hey you know or you can go in person even depending on your financial institution but you could say you know hey i want to pay this you know i know my my account was closed out because i was overdrawn um you know i really want to pay my obligation i can pay you guys this money right now if you delete this from my report the bank is only required to report that that the debt is paid so um they're not obligated to delete the information even if you pay them but it doesn't hurt to try i have clients that have had great success in paying um for the paying for delete option um but it all depends on the bank and you know you don't want to you know call the call center and whoever answers the phone say hey i want to pay this can you guys delete it out if i pay it like no you need to get past the gatekeeper it's going to take a little bit of persistence on your end you want to get to the decision maker because they're the ones who ultimately make the decision to say yeah we'll we'll delete this for you or we won't step number five is wait until the adverse information falls off of your report now the reported information is usually removed from your ews file after about five years now the fair credit reporting act does allow them to keep it on there for seven years but i haven't really seen that happen um very often you can wait until it falls off your report but i do have a pro tip for you and that is open a second chance bank account now i do have a previous video on my channel from a while ago that goes over second chance bank accounts if you guys are interested chance make accounts are awesome because either one they don't check ews or check systems or they don't even care about it so i mean everyone deserves to have another chance definitely want to take it
