What are some things that make you sad?
The kind of people you see on QuoraThe Bounty HuntersThese are the ones who are here for the bloodbath. They consistently pursue upvotes and views and are willing to go to any length to write the phrases like ‘Thank you for 1k, 5k, 10k+ upvotes’ , ‘Edit 1- Thank You; Edit 2- Thank You for the praise; Edit 3- Thank You for the praise and love’ etc. They tend to lure you in with a provocative picture to skew your interest and like the gentle sheep we are, we follow the herd and hit the upvote. If this answer gets 1k, 5k, 10k+ upvotes, you know what happened.2. The Game of Thrones FanaticsYes, we get it. It is a great show based on phenomenal novels. I watch it too. SO DOES THOUSANDS OF OTHERS WHO DON’T BRAG ABOUT WATCHING IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA. Imagine this:You have mounted piles of work everywhere around you at the office so that you can keep your mind off the fact that the GoT finale has already aired in the US. Now, you just wanna go back to your home, grab your pizza, crash down on your couch to begin watching the show. But wait, earlier when you tried surfing Quora a moron asked, ‘Why did Tommen jump to his death? Why did Cercei blow up the Sept? Why is Jon declared King in the North? Why is Sansa not declared Queen in the North?’Enough already. To whomsoever who spoiled Ramsey Bolton’s death to me in Ep. 9, I wish I will be the one to spoil Tyrion’s death to you, whenever it comes to that.3. The Live CommentatorsThese are the ones who generally go with the question of- ‘What do XYZ think about the recent developments with ABC?’Their motto is simple. Get the first mover advantage and garner as much upvotes and views as possible, while the topic is still trending.4. The ones who write their CV’s on profile biosNo offence to the professors and entrepreneurs who are genuinely imparting knowledge. They deserve it.But it doesn’t make any sense when your profile bio reads- ’20 years experience in Investment banking and asset management, VC at BlaBla Ventures, Co-founder of ‘ApatheticStartupWhichIsDestinedToGoNowhereButIClaimItWillMakeTheWorldABetterPlace’ when you are writing answer to- Why does my cat smell its own excreta?5. The Hot MessThey are the ones with an obviously high number of followers. They are the supreme feminists, fashion bloggers and globe trotters. They are the masters when imparting dating and relationship advice and are the highest authority when it comes to sophistication and class. They have travelled the entire world, except the “third world”. They don’t miss out any opportunity to attach an ‘obligatory duck face picture of themselves with a Chanel clutch in one hand and a Starbucks cup in the other’ along with their answers.6. The Engineers and MBA’sThey are likely to begin their answers with- ‘During the second year, in my ‘PrestigiousPretentiousCollege, when my best friend was studying in ‘LessPrestigiousCollege’, and I was dating ‘TheHotMessWhoActuallyDidn’tGiveCrapAboutMe’. They are the ones who have had every single goddamn experience in their colleges, have gone through a minimum of five break-ups and they answer to no one but the Lord of Beer.7) The pesky ones who ask questions to glorify their brethrenTheir questions begin with 'Why does the people of my country, community, region or religion do something in a particular fashion?' and they inadvertently imply why their brethren is better than the rest. They flood Quora with similar questions again and again, and sleep at night with satisfaction in their hearts that they managed to do some good for humanity.8) The pesky ones who ask questions to see their brethren fallTheir questions begin with 'Why are the people of my country, community, region or religion not as good as the others?' and directly imply that they would rather leave their brethren behind in search for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.9) The silent browsersThey are the ones whose questions begin with '?', wait they don't ask questions. They browse through their feed everyday, they know what's happening on Quora, they know who deserves up votes and who deserves to be ignored. They consume all the knowledge that is available on Quora but rarely contribute. They are the silent guardians, the watchful protector, the shadow in the night, but no one knows who they are.10) The real heroesThey are the ones with facts. They are the epitome of an ideal Quoran. They are never short of facts, they know which questions to ignore and which ones to write an answer to. They never fail to contribute knowledge to this community and are the pillars behind the very ideology of Quora. Though they may not get the views and up votes because the popular opinion resides with the 'Hot Mess', but they are the real heroes here. This makes me sad.

How much do you earn as a doctor in India? Are you happy with it?
I earn very less, not even enough to support my old parents, forget a new family. And I’m nearing 30! Honestly, 2 types of students get into medical stream. 1. Family already has one/more doctors and the students are well informed about the long years of study and everything before jumping in. 2. Students who come from middle-class families, not-so-educated families, and have grown up envisioning most of their family members literally worship doctors and know nothing about medicine or the medical stream. I belong to the second category. Where it apparently looks like 6 yrs and then you are a graduate, and going to be self dependant, earning a lot, supporting your family and living happily ever after. The reality is way too different. I am just going to emphasize my experience, rather than options and opportunities after MBBS. 1. As I already said I am from the second category: my prior interest was earning seeing patients, and probably sometimes do the “free check-ups for social service” (which has been always there in a young doctor’s mind but our education system often crushes it). 2. So yes, I had immediately joined as an ICU junior resident after my internship, and that paid me ₹35,000 for 48 hours a week. 3. And later, I joined another hospital for the same salary and work hours. So that makes it ₹70K. 4. Now that might look like a lot of money for a fresher, but after 96 hours of running around in ICU and spending 4 almost-sleepless nights, I was left with 2 days of comatosed condition on the bed and for the last one day I had, I used to go out, watch a movie, go shopping before the hectic work schedule started again. Obviously, it was sucking life out of me, and I quit these hospitals to work for a central govt. hospital, where the pay was ₹55,000, and allowance on basis of the 6th pay commission. The work was less hectic. 5. I was happier certainly but not content, because I was losing out on years before my post-gratuation. And the govt. certainly puts you on 3 years' work before you qualify for the “service quota” in post-grad entrance. In return, you will have to sign on a bond that after post-grad you will work for the same body. So pretty much your whole life will be spent in that hospital. And they have transfer issues as well. They can transfer you to a different state, which on judging I knew wouldn't work out for me. So yes, I quit my govt job. And stayed home completely, preparing for post-grad entrance. 7. Your frustration peaks up at this time, as you are not earning anything, your savings will get exhausted. You are going to depend on your parents once again. I definitely could not afford to be completely jobless; so I had joined one hospital for 24 hrs per week, which would fetch me around ₹17,000, and it was enough for my personal expenses. Plus, most of us join coaching centers for post-grad entrance preparation , and these coaching classes are very expensive. Comes somewhere between ₹50,000 to even ₹1 lakh. Yes, you will still be depending on parents if you have not spent a few months working. Luckily, my hard work from previous jobs paid for this coaching. Finally during post grad we earn ₹30,000 in first year and with a consecutive hike of ₹5,000 per year. 8. My friends who are doing their post-grad from premier institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER earn much much more, but getting into those institutions is pretty difficult. 9. So, when you ask me if I am happy! Nope. Not at all. My father is getting his cataract surgery, and I cannot physically be there for him, neither I can financially support him. * I am overworked, I am emotionally abused. * I live with a constant fear of getting hurt, as the new trend in India is “beating up doctors” and the govt. doesn't pay a shit about it. * I go to work early morning, whenever I am free I read PDF of my books,I don't have proper lunch timings. I come back home reading or making a PPT, and night life for me is a NIGHT SHIFT. * When I look at my friends on Facebook, most of them, including the then(school) back benchers are earning way better than me, supporting their family. Most of the engineers are abroad, travelling the world, living the best of their life. * I am still a struggler and after post-graduation as well I will be over-worked for next few years, in name of experience. I know most of the doctors start earning well only in their late 30s. And they learn a lot, everyday is practice . I do enjoy that learning part as well, it's just that I practically missed out on my transformation from a teenager to a near 30 woman. I outgrew my passion in books, and when you look into my parents eyes, they are still supporting their daughter who earns practically lesser than her first salary. I am NOT HAPPY and given a chance again growing up, I WOULDN'T CHOOSE THE MEDICAL STREAM AS A CAREER. EDIT : Firstly Thank you all for being amazing listeners while I kept on cribbing about the profession I probably will have to live this life with. second, thanks for the wishes / strength passed onto me by people on this answer of mine. Well I have joined AIIMS, the institute I spoke about earlier. But .. given a chance to plunge back to my childhood, I wouldn't choose medical profession. Thanks for the support here again.

What are some modern-looking LMS?
Funny you should say that a having reviewed our competitors there are many out there with powerful features, but what is the point if users don’t want to engage with the system? We think it’s important to:Have a clean UI: Simple colours, clear breathing space between items, good fonts etc.Be intuitive/familiar: The system has to be easy to understand and use on a daily basis. Not just for admins but all usersWork well on any device: As we become increasingly technologically advanced, users are using different devices in different locations. The design has to look good and work on these devices.Make complex actions simple/quickly: The boring things such as how to invite your users on, how to assign content to them etc. all have the potential to take up time. The system should do the hard work for you so that in the click of a button or two, you have completed your task.Provide value: It is great having a pretty design, but each thing also needs to be on the page for a reason - to provide value.A few of our clients have commented that having reviewed the market, in terms of UX and design Learn Amp (our site) is miles ahead of other sites they’ve seen. From our research, for them to look like they were designed in 2005 is relatively modern! Many we saw look like they were designed in the 90s and never updated. The reason for this is we have modelled the site on the best consumer apps out there, the likes of Netflix, Spotify and more modern apps such as Monzo and CharlieHR which have a clean, modern and effective UX/UI.We still have the powerful features but have a UX that backs it up and makes users want to use it. Happy to show you if you request a demo on the site

What is the interview process in Works applications?
What is the interview procedure at Works Application for an R&D Engineer like? How does one prepare for it? To get your interviews with Work Applications, you need to solve a set of questions within a stipulated amount of time. One thing to remember is that you are competiting again the whole of India, and hence your programs should run as fast as possible, even in the worst case. As far as I'm concerned, this is the hardest stage to clear. Once you have cleared that, you shall be called for interviews. You shall have the option to pick your location and date of interviews. You shall have two 45 minutes technical interviews, one 50 minutes written aptitude round and one HR round. The process sha...

Is Unacademy a scam?
I’m writing this answer based on my personal opinion/views.Please don’t criticise me. Even I don’t criticise too.So today morning I just update the unacademy app in my iphone 6.In iphone before this update Apple users can’t enroll in plus courses. They have to enroll through android/laptop.Even still after this update we can’t download videos. Only plus course can be download. In new update we can enroll in plus courses. But when I saw the prices of different plus courses I was just shocked. That’s made me to write this answer. What I saw that made me shocked?Let’s see! When I checked the price of courses in my laptop,Political science and international relations optional for mains 2019 :-Price ( As per in android/laptop ) : 28800/-Complete sociology optional paper 1 for upsc cse 2019Price ( As per in android/laptop ) : 17900/-When I checked the price of these courses in my iphone 6.OMG! it’s almost double!!!!I was literally shocked.Different prices for ANDROID AND IPHONE USER.Great!!Unacademy playing well. Now one more thing,I’m not saying that unacademy is scam but it manipulate the people. How?First they claimed the India’s/words’s largest free education platform. Then they came up with Unacademy plus course. (paid courses)After unacademy plus courses only core and standard courses are available on plus courses that mean paid courses. Now we conclude that Standard courses only available on plus courses with huge price.WHY HUGE PRICE?Now in my case I enrolled in Aarti Mishra mam’s 6–12 NCERT ROCK SOLID FOUNDATION COURSE.Price :- 6930/- After redeeming 10% credits.Although that course price was 8000/-In 7000/8000 only you learned NCERT 6–12.Now what? You have remained all the standard books.Let’s enroll in different courses.Indian economy - 10000Medieval History - 7000Polity - 8000Geography - 8000Ethics - 10000CSAT - 10000Mostly 7000 to 10000 for every subject!Sometimes even up to 13000.Optional courses!!!Around 17000 to 25000!!Somewhere around total 1 lac for cover all the upsc syllabus.Isn’t it???As per my opinion prices are huge!I believe that educators have to really work hard for making awesome courses. But I don’t agree with that statement INDIA’s LARGEST FREE EDUCATION PLATFORM.Please remove FREE!I agree there were best free courses too. but somehow we confused what to watch? There are so many courses on same topic. One more thing about paid courses. They increase prices within every 4–5 days. They claimed that,THIS COURSE IS IN HIGH DEMAND.LIMITED SEATS.COST INCREASE ON XYZ DATE!!Isn’t they manipulate the students?Think!!!!In START WITH WHY book By Simon Sinek explained very well. There are only two ways to influence human behaviour:You can manipulate it or you can inspire it.When I mention manipulation, this is not necessarily pejorative; it’s a very common and fairly benign tactic.Hope that people don’t criticise me.Though I’m not hater of unacademy or anyone else.I just explained my views on unacademy.Even I too fan of some best educators like Roman sir..Aarti mam..!In last Unacademy is not a scam, but unacademy playing well!!Make India Great!!Thank you for reading.Have a good sunday.Image sources :- My phone galleryCheers & Peace ❤️||SD||

Is Directi banned from IIT placements? What were the exact incidents that led to this?
Official response from DirectiThere is some misinformation in this post that we would like to address. This is not to blame any of the posters. Things posted on social media are invariably more than what meets the eye. In many cases the opinions stated herein are hearsay and not direct facts and hence only represent one side of the story. Here are some facts that might help make this thread factual. Every statement below can be verified and corraborated:Facts on ground at Kanpur:Here are the facts of the incident that took place at kanpur, without any exaggeration5 people from Directi were at Kanpur for final placements. Infact 2 of them were IIT Kanpur alumsWe had shortlisted 21 candidates to interview at KanpurHowever only 9 of those were available for interviewing when we signNowed. MAJORITY of the candidates we would have liked to interview and would have made offers to were unavailable6 candidates went through only 1 round of an hour. 3 candidates went through a second round. As you can see all candidates but one were released within 2 to 2.5 hours. Please check this with all the students who were interviewed at IIT Kanpur and you will find this to be trueThe last candidate did not get through the 3rd round but since the previous interviewers really liked him we tried to take him through a shorter 2nd final round to try and make him an offer.Eventually after 6 hours of hard work from all of our interviewers, none of the candidates passed our bar. The primary reason was that we were only given access to around 1/3rd of our shortlist. At most other IITs (check below) we were able to make offers because we had access to a larger portion of our shortlistThe final candidate (name hidden to protect identity) did not like the fact that he was not selected after 4 interview rounds and stated this to the counselor. We had no intention of upsetting him. Our behavior with him at all points in time was cordial. Our interviewers were always nice, offering asistance, encouragement etc. We pride ourselves on our processSometimes candidates may not take rejection well. We dont blame them, we understand many candidates are under a lot of pressure. We do a lot to keep them calm and composed throughoutWhen this student complained about being rejected after a long interview process, certain faculty (names kept private) came down to where our team was and began berating and yelling at our people, insulting our entire team, including the IIT Kanpur alums, in front of all students and other companies. They were alleging that we spent too much time with this student only to reject him. This yelling and shouting went on for over 30 minutes, all the while our team remained composed even though they were being openly insultedThen they called cops to escort our team out of there as if we were criminalsOur team there comprised of young coders, some of whom are your friends from your institutions. They had done nothing to deserve this treatment except carry out a structured interview process. Each candidate appeared for our interviews out of their choice. Noone was forced to sit for our interviewsThe fact that we did not recruit anyone is a disappointment for us, but in no way calls for insult and humiliation. And I sincerely do not understand how anyone can speculate that we would want to send large teams of people to various colleges to purposefully not recruit anyoneAnyways the above represents the exact series of events at Kanpur. We were disappointed with the way we were treated.-----Statement in this post: Directi does not really make any offers and rejects everyoneFacts:This year Directi has already extended 30+ offers to engineering students and we intend on extending 20+ more offersOf this a total of 15 offers of INR 26 Lakhs CTC and 12.5 lacs base have been extended to students from various IIT’s including one of the IITs where we made 4 offers Directi has been and continues to remain one of the most active recruiters and highest payees on every campus. Directi is now a 1200+ people strong company. And more than 70% -75% of our engineering staff comes from campus recruitments across the countryOver the last 5 years, we have extended 163 offers to students and 75+ offers to interns from our engineering campus recruitment drives---Statement in this post: Directi is wasting time and does not intend to recruit propleFacts:Each year Directi spends 50+ lacs on our campus recruitment drives. This is just direct cost. The actual time we spend on the recruitment activity costs us even more than thisThis year Directi had a team of 62 tech interviewers and 10 HR individuals who travelled to each of these campuses multiple times in a year - for presentations, online tests, interns, and final placementsRecruitment is one of the most expensive and serious activities Directi undertakes each year and we continue to add budgets and additional resources to further our goalsI personally sleep less than 3 hours for those 3 days of December when we are recruiting at every IIT campus because I personally take many of the final interviews. Again candidates can vouch for this themselves. I interviewed several this year too---Statement in this post: Directi's offer does not compare to other companiesFacts: Directi is the only company that actually shows the entire breakup of each component of the salary in the presentation we make on each campus. We are 100% transparent about our package unlike any other firmOther Misc Facts:We will be the first to admit that we have amongst the highest recruitment bar in the country. We have built an outstanding team by virtue of this. Everyone in our team will vouch to this. Many of your friends and seniors work here and you can talk to them about the quality of talent at Directi versus any other name in the countryWe do not compromise on our bar. Believe me, I would love to hire more developers. Each year we spend crazy costs and time and we always end up with lesser developers than we would like. It would be stupid on our part to not hire someone who is capable so any statement from anyone made to that effect lacks foundation. We then continue our recruitment processes off campus to try and fill the remaining gaps. Each year we make between 40-55 offers on campuses and we will do so this year tooAll in all, other responses on this post lack foundation and are not based on true facts. If we have hurt anyones feelings or sentiments by rejecting them after a long interview we apologize for the same. However interviewing will result in rejection. Our recruitment ratio tends to be 1 out of 12-15 in general. This means the rest of the candidates will get rejected. This hasnt changed across the last few years. We nevertheless have made offers in every single campus (including 2 PPOs in Kanpur too).We respect all of you. I personally am a techie at heart and very passionate about coding and software development. The behavior we were exposed to in Kanpur suggests malicious intent on our part, but that suggestion itself is ridiculous. What do we stand to gain by spending 50 lacs to go to various campuses only to return empty handed without any offers. The notion that we purposefully waste time and dont make offers is incorrect. And there is hard evidence in terms of the offers we have made so far.Lastly I would like to state once again that we are respectful of the IIT process and privileged to be one of the choice employers for IIT grads in India.Feel free to write me directly at bhavin DOT t AT directi DOT com for any clarifications.Yours humblyBhavin TurakhiaCEO, Directi

How has joining Toastmasters improved people's public speaking and general confidence?
There are two great benefits to joining a group such as Toastmasters.First, it’s a practice space. It’s the equivalent of a garage for the budding rock band; it gives you the space, equipment and time necessary to improve your craft. Pair this with a supportive environment, constructive evaluations and a good set of guidelines and a TM club provides a great framework for a novice speaker to improve quickly. The second benefit I received from Toastmasters was the ability to watch and emulate other speakers. This is especially important in the early stages of development for a public speaker. Since most TM clubs will have a wide variety of skill levels, they provide an excellent opportunity to learn from others.

What shocked you today?
PEOPLES EXPECTATIONS FROM GIRLS IN ARRANGED MARRIAGES…So this incident took place recently. My Cousin Brother who is 23 years old, his family is looking for a girl for marriage.First let me tell you about their family. They are very big farmers with other bussiness also running. In short , they are rich and live in their village. So after looking few girls, they finalised a girl after meeting her, but what happened is that in that meeting , only the boy and his parents went but my Nani and other relatives didn't go as they were not available due to some reasons. They finalised the marriage but most of my relatives and Nani were still unaware of who the girl was but the Boy liked the girl. ( Both of them have studied in the same schools till 12th as she is also from a nearby village and he knows her quite well that's why he agreed )But the problem arose 2 days later ( i.e yesterday) when after doing the engagement everyone returned home , and my nani told everyone that she didn't like the girl, she said that she was not even asked once and all that emotional drama. Few of my relatives who attended the function also agreed with her. (All this is happening after the engagement)She didn't tell the reason for disapproval but most probably it would be looks or not very rich family. We couldn't attend it as we live far away so just saw the photos and in photos , the girl looks good with fair skin and average height that too in very simple clothes. So the question here is -Who is actually at fault? - Ofcourse my relatives as they didn't see the girl earlier and later complaining on the choice of the boy and his mother. And why do people expect very beautiful 'bahu' , when all she has to do are the household chores for her whole life. ( In this scenario)All these things have put my mother under pressure as she is in full support of the marriage as her point is that the boy liked the girl and that is the main aim of marriage. Now she is angry on 'her mother' as she started this by complaining about the girl. The thing which shocked me is - in arranged marriages , people expect the girl to be educated , beautiful and what not but all they let her do are kitchen work. They see marriages more as a social status and the more dowry the guys family gets , they get more respect from society. It's 21st century , where people are achieving great heights whereas others are worried about dowry and marriages. All this needs to change !!.Thank you....All suggestions are welcome.!..FOLLOW ME!!Edit : thanks for the 100+ upvotes. It means a lot to me and encourages me to write more.

Can you earn online from Serbia?
Thank you For the question. Now,I'am particularly taking about online based earning.I have gone through many and vast variety sites and blog's to make sure 3 basic income sources, here they are follows:First thing is you need a basic website, you can create it for free!! Here is the link:Hosting, Domain Registration, Website Services. After that follow the steps give below: http://Hitleap.It is a website that is made for everyone who wants to earn money. It doesn't require to have any experience in the money making scene on the internet or any have preview skills. It is for everyone who just have 1hour to spend then he will start making small amount of passive income in no time. Step 1:go to Hitleap and register an accountStep 2:Download the app and run it to run minutes ( the currency on Hitleap )Step 3:After earning 1k-2k minutes, make a blog ( you don't need any fancy blog ) and run CPM links on it.CPM sites ( Use google to find more sites )Step 4:Click here on your Hitleap accountStep 5:Do this 3 times, using all your slots**I recommend buying more slots, it will greatly return the money and more after some time, it is worth it.Then start exchanging traffic! I recommend 40 seconds each. Run the traffic exchange in windowed all day, if you have multiple computers you can run the program for double or triple the points and accumulate more minutes!Doing this will net you an easy $50-$200 a week!If you don’t like hitleap or are unable to download the application, you can also use Otohits or Alexamaster or WebsyndicThis works in the same way as Hitleap, Hitleap has just been around longer.*Remember* CPM is not the only way you can earn with Hitleap, earning on the internet requires you to put a twist to your existing idea. I ran Hitleap for a few months in Nov 2015 because the payout is crazily high.
