Any ideas for free online creative presentation tools?
Hi there! Here’s the Best Presentation Software List: Complete 2017 Guide, that includes several free online presentation software options. I’m including part of the post below:We’ve created this list of the best presentation software to shed some light and to give you a comprehensive presentation software list to ensure you make the right call in the platform you select. This article is the result of several weeks of research and review of 50+ presentation tools currently available on the web.Definition: What is presentation software?Best PowerPoint Alternatives: Death to PPT!Tools by operating systems: Presentation software for MacPresentation software for WindowsPresentation software for LinuxPresentation apps for iPad and iPhone Presentation apps for AndroidOnline presentation toolsChurch presentation software for worshipPresentation design toolsVideo presentation softwareStartup pitch deck toolsSales Presentation ToolsThe Top 10 Best Presentation SoftwareDefinition: What is presentation software?“Presentation software is defined as an application built to display information in the form of a slide show.Any presentation tool must have three fundamental functions:A text editor: to input the contents of the presentation. An import function: to insert and manipulate images and other content.A slide-show or presenter mode: that displays the content in a nice, formatted way.Slide shows often consist of a combination of text, video, images and charts. Their primary function is displaying clear, readable and summarized data to an audience. Most presentations are shared and presented on a larger screen or through a digital projector. In rare occasions, slide presentations are printed out as a replacement for text documents, but this is a really inefficient way to review data, that Garr Reynolds calls ‘PresDocs’ (Garr Reynolds is the author of Presentation Zen, one of the most important go-to reference for successful presentations).WHAT MAKES A GOOD PRESENTATION TOOL?The functions and results of presentation programs has evolved signNowly in the past decades, since the original launch of ‘Presenter’ (the PowerPoint predecessor) in 1984. In 1987 PowerPoint 1.0 was released for the Macintosh and it started a revolution in the way we prepare and consume content in meetings. For the purposes of this article we are going to classify all presentation tools using 3 variables that we consider extremely important:Ease of use: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★This rating looks at the learning curve, or time required to learn to use the platform. An easy to use interface is fundamentally important to ensure that users feel confortable working with the platform and doesn’t require complex training to take advantage of its features. This also accounts for the average time it takes to build a presentation.Customization: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★The ability to customize a presentation to the smallest details. This varies depending on the number of advanced features in the platform, like the ability to set different transitions to each slide, the ability to add customized elements or to design/code the final outcome of the slides to the last font size and color code.Final result: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★This indicator looks at the outcome of a finished presentation, assuming the user is an average person with basic design skills and intermediate knowledge on the tool itself.Best PowerPoint Alternatives (Death by Power Point)As we mentioned before, PowerPoint is the most used presentation builder in the market today. It is distributed by Microsoft as part of their Office Suite, which is estimated to have over 500 million users worldwide. Microsoft has also revealed that approximately 35 Million presentations are delivered every single day, that’s a staggering 400 presentations per second. But still, PowerPoint’s popularity has decreased signNowly in the past few years. Their boring presentation templates, the large learning curve and complexity as well as the terrible slides many users end up making have started the Death to PowerPoint movement. For this section, we summarize the top PowerPoint alternatives, that is, presentation tools that work in a fairly similar manner and that provide similar (but signNowly better) results. If you are an avid PowerPoint user, then migrating to these platforms should be rather easy for you.SLIDEBEANEase of use: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ - Fantastic!Customization: ★ ★ ★ ★ - Very GoodFinal result: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ - Fantastic!Slidebean is an online presentation tool focused that lets you add the content, and automatically converts formats it into beautifully designed slides, allowing you to create a professional presentation in a fraction of the time it used to take on PowerPoint. When comparing it to PowerPoint, Slidebean’s interface is easy to learn and it lets you create fantastic looking presentations very fast. Their platform web based and allows both PowerPoint and direct to PDF exports.Slidebean also has a unique advantage which is a set of dozens of presentation templates. These are pre-filled decks that serve common purposes, like business proposals, classroom decks, thesis presentations and even startup pitch decks: all you need to do is import them and fill in your content. You can sign up free for Slidebean here: http://slidebean.comSIGN UP FREEAPPLE KEYNOTEEase of use: ★ ★ ★ - OKCustomization: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ - Fantastic!Final result: ★ ★ ★ ★ - Very GoodKeynote is what PowerPoint should have been all along. Apple’s version of the popular presentation tool has improved signNowly in the last few years, and has recently included a cloud version that works on any browser on any computer (as long as you have at least one Apple device).Keynote is basically an improved PowerPoint, it offers the same approach to create slides, but offers nice and clean templates, a simple interface and nice details like smart guides. The biggest issue with Keynote is the long learning process that it requires. Similar to Microsoft’s tool, you’ll need to sit down for a few hours to learn to use the platform, and another larger set of hours to make a professional presentation.More info about Apple Keynote is available here: http://www.apple.com/mac/keynote/VISME (BETA)Ease of use: ★ ★ ★ - OKCustomization: ★ ★ ★ ★ - Very GoodFinal result: ★ ★ ★ - OKVisme is a web based platform for building presentations. Their interface is similar to PowerPoint, but they have successfully simplified a complex UI to a nicer and more understandable navigation. Still, you’ll need to spend a few hours to get a good grasp of where all the customization options can be found. The platform offers an interesting (but certainly limited) gallery of images, but they succeed at delivering beautiful infographic elements (which they call ‘Charts and Graphs’) that you can use to add some color and make your slides much more dynamic. You can read more about them here.Tools by Operating SystemPRESENTATION SOFTWARE FOR MACThe growth and penetration of Macs is at its peak and is expected to increase in the upcoming years. Apple’s focus on an easy user interface is often embraced by the developers working on apps for Mac OS.The following programs, we believe, best leverage the advantages of their platform, including availability on the Mac App Store (for easy installation) and support for Retina Displays.APPLE KEYNOTE (AGAIN)Ease of use: ★ ★ ★ - OKCustomization: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ - Fantastic!Final result: ★ ★ ★ ★ - Very GoodIf you own a Mac you’ve probably played around with Keynote. Their seamless integration with new features like iCloud Drive, iPhone Remote App and and Retina Displays makes this platform a great option if you’re building presentations on your Apple computer. The only takeaway aside from what we mentioned above is compatibility. Keynote presentations can only be opened by Apple Keynote and while they support PowerPoint exports, the look and animations can change drastically when doing so.More info about Apple Keynote is available here.

What are some examples of presentation softwares other than PowerPoint?
It varies by the focus and style of the presentation, but here are the ones I use on a regular basis:Prezi.com…great for quickly mapping your presentation using their predesigned templates and preprogrammed movement. Love the ability to edit the path and add additional info where I want it, and to create presentations that run continuously (I often use them while people are arriving to set the stage for the presentation).HaikuDeck.com…easy to use with a focus on images with minimal words on the screen…need to either be able to present online or export to PowerPoint or a PDF. Love the preformatted layouts for words on the screen…makes it very easy to quickly build a presentation.Keynote…essentially the MAC version of Powerpoint that works great for those who are more comfortable in the MAC world.

What is something Microsoft has that Apple doesn’t?
I can give you 42 just off the top of my head, HAHA. *Updated List*Ability to detach a usb device or drive without melting downA program that can place videos and all sorts of other media like PDF onto phones at all, and quickly (drag and drop), and Natively BASICAbility to download programs that are actually usefulAbility to easily go into a DOS programAbility to use Video as a background Natively BASICAbility to do everything and 1,000 times more than any Apple could dream of, 10 or more years before hand, but, if so, a very hand picked fluffy collection to choose fromAbility to change passwords and user names without forgetting itTons more hardware choicesMore speed is always attainable, 10 years aheadYou can have literally ANALOG OR DIGITAL air TV, 15 - 20 Years Ago..You can create subliminal cutting edge 3D Games, Movies, Virtual Reality, many years in advanceYou can use many external products, I'd say 95% of the external products sector is Windows or at least was for many many yearsYou go into a store for software or games, your choices are limitless, as opposed to Apple, 2 whole games?Hundreds of programs available to do 1 thing, pick your choiceYou aren't stuck in an Apps program downloading crap, where almost Nothing is availableYou can download from many, many many, sources, and there is a real likelyhood it is available for WindowsYou can use much much more formats for Audio and Video, and Apple can't play most of them. Windows CAN, with programs that you can findWindows isn't closed minded, they work with many different entities, as Apple has only a select fewWindows makes stuff work, now, and not waiting for the future to open up the magic box, and deliver what was once already available to you by many handfulls of other providers (Not Apple)Windows makes inexpensive things that work just as well or better than Apple products, and cost thousands and thousands less to repairYou can place the start bar wherever the hell you fucking wantYou can place programs and files where ever the fuck you want and update where they are easily within programsYou can edit programs by deleting files or adding files more easilyYou can edit which programs use how much cpu power, see the readout, make game changing system changesYou can pull up programs with a slight keystroke, easily editableYou can manually choose what things to install, instead of having a massive packageYou can still use programs from decades ago without an errorYou can use programs and not have to constantly sign inYou can use programs without needing an internet connection to check whether you're signed in or notYou can use your files without some nagging idiotic error stating you have no privileges to use them, because its on another accountYou can use media with programs without the programs needing to completely copy the entire media contents to its own separate file, doubling the used space on your drive, and ultimately stopping you from doing any work, and having to delete all the files from the program first, AND, needing to restart constantly so it REMEMBERS! (Apple)You can use over-the-air video projection with ANY SERVICE EXCEPT FOR APPLE, YAY, unless you get emulatorsWindows allowed Apple to use their Windows OS on Apple computers, but has NOT allowed Windows to use Apple OS on Windows computers. It would need to be a Hackintosh OS (illegal)You can always use the DVD or Blu-Ray player for many years, as Apple ones can't ever lastWindows can use backwards compatibility for much much much much longer strides than Apple. Trying to use 1 program with Apple after a few years, can't use it!Settings actually SAVEThere are more ports to plug intoWindows feels like a solid block of steel, but Apple feels like an Old Rubber Band!Windows devices are not as prone to breaking, and last many many times more years than an AppleWindows doesn't lower the speed of their devices so that you get Fed Up and buy another one, Very Soon After You Just Bought Your New Apple!Internal Expandability; Batteries, Graphics Cards, Memory, Other addons, LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPSIf there is a problem, you are more likely able to fix it yourself, rather than another technician, and if so, for 1/5th the price or less. I will stop here as 42 is the meaning of everything.Just kidding. Windows comes with many years of warranties, and is flexible with the warranties with Manufacturer's Warranty, and PAYMENT USUALLY NOT NEEDED as Apple is definitely NOT! Apple makes you pay yearly warranties, when their crap doesn't work!Ability to do a search, and use a MENU by "right clicking" on those searched items, and do what you willMany "Right Clicking" options, and EDITABLE optionsWireless connectivity for MUCH LONGER DISTANCES, and STABLE connections"HDMI PLUG FOR LAPTOPS""PLUG AND PLAY"You don't have to pay for most programs. They can be boot legged flawlessly, and many many many options to choose fromScreens on laptops that Windows operates on, can be almost as thin as HAIR, as Apple cannot get theirs thinner, or use other computers that Windows operatesArea 51. Ability to run on laptops that can be dropped right out of the sky, signNow TERMINAL VELOCITY, and not break, and start up JUST FINE, including but not limited to, being Bombed, thrown, ran over, stepped on, placed in very very high and very very low temperatures, get dirty, get wet, and OPERATE STILL, and this was possible, I believe before Apple could even take their towel off and go "What is a shower?", AND STILL, CANT!!! in 2019! You drop an Apple device from sometimes Less Than 1 Foot From The Ground, on CARPET!!, IT, is TOAST MAAAAAN!Area 52: Microsoft created XBOX, which is a competitor with Sony Playstation. Do you see any gaming consoles made by Macintosh? Nope! Ok ok, they have Apple Tv and iPhone and iPad, like 20 years later? with potential controllers, if you can go look in the BLACK MARKET for one? but it's all only steerable with extremely bad inaccurate gyroscopes. They have in every sense of the word Failure, tried to use Apple TV as their version of Nintendo Wii, which Nintendo Wii sucked very, very badly. A Sega Dreamcast out-performed a Nintendo Wii, and Dreamcast came out some 7 years beforehand, and Dreamcast Sucked Balls if you can remember right? Apple TV: 22 years behind? Microsoft used to have a game called Interstate 76, which almost no one's been able to duplicate in coolness. Apple in this case, sucks major, major, major, major balls, as seen in the aforementioned list of things that were shit. Main Reason: No Normal Basic Game Controller. 1993: Doom came out for PC. Where was Apple? A game called Myst. Oh? Who cares? Pissed Myst?Apple was capable of playing only 1 actual good game called Nanosaur, which came with their shiny new transparent plastic Mac's, which was basically a failure because you could never, ever win it. The timing sequence was so far off, that the asteroid fell and blew everything up 1 hour before you could even finish the game, if it was even possible to finish? The only other game that was a game changer was MDK, my favourite game of all time, but it was originally Microsoft, and ported over to Mac OS afterwards, which didn't matter too much with a Single Clicking Mouse! What does Microsoft have? Thousands of computer choices. What does Apple have? About a dozen, probably less. What does Microsoft have? Ability to install on one of the most used computers in the world, by Army, Navy, Government, Hospitals, Hackers, Big Businessmen, College students, Professors, Nasa employees (AND, ASTRONAUTS, ON THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION), Police as well, North and South pole researchers? The IBM Thinkpad, and it has what? It lights up the keyboard, thumbprint scanner TONS of years before Apple (Apple doesn't have a thumbprint reader on their laptops right?), a BASIC red dot in the middle for using as a mouse, in case you don't have one. What can a Thinkpad do? Last time I checked, comparable screen tech, and EXTENDABLE SCREENS. You can pop a damn screen or two out the sides, and, natively, you can ADD AN EXPANSION DOCK FOR MORE GRAPHICS CARDS RAM AND NETWORK CONNECTIONS ECT. Toughbook? That's one of the most indestructible laptops in the world, and pretty much ALL Police Officers use them, additionally all the aforementioned on #53. Windows, not Apple, installs on thoseAbility to install on Laptops that DON'T SLIDE OUT OF YOUR HAND LIKE TEFFLON!Windows can be used on a thumb drive, Apple CAN'TWindows can be installed onto a fingernail sized computer and be plugged into a TV or CRT monitor and be used as a Computer!Windows sticks with the program, the excel word ppt program; Things are the way they were designed. Apple? They cut a whole bunch of stuff outWindows works natively with most printers out there. Mac does not. You are much more likely to have issues making a printer work with a Mac than a Windows PC, because printer manufacturers just don't make the drivers for Apple.Windows OS can be downloaded, in 32, 64, or x86 architecture, and placed onto a disk, usually for FREE, and all you have to do is plug in the CD Key to authenticate, whereas Mac OS cannot be downloaded, therefore can't be put onto a disk! You have to ask for it to be sent in the mail, or have an Apple technician install it for you, $$$End program/Force Quit; In Windows, you can quit a program instantly and bring it back up. In Mac OS, force quit is a *Maybe* quit, and bringing it back up takes forever.Shutdown. In Windows, it shuts down when you want it to. In Mac OS, it might not do anything at all. It will just sit there like you never said shut down!Starting up Windows, if there is a problem, you are delivered a message as to what and maybe why there is a problem, with an Error Code, which you may be able to select an option to go into Safe Mode, whereas Mac OS, doesn't do that. Mac OS simply hangs on the apple logo, and does nothing for an eternity. It gives you zero options to recover.Windows has a Recovery Mode option, Mac OS does NOT.In Windows, there is a very high chance that an older program however screwy, will work. In Mac OS, you will get a very irritating error that states that you cannot even download an updated program that works with your OS, that you have to get the LATEST MAC OS, which at this time (forever), your laptop does not support the new Mac OS. You are what we call SOL! You now have to buy a new Mac! $1500 - $2500, and all the programs you paid for, are most likely non-transferrable, because they Just, Don't, Work, and their subscription is for a short period of time anyways.Of all the options that Windows has, it's accessible in many different ways, the ways in which are straight forward, and you even have programs that can GUIDE YOU through the process. Apple? Options never exist every corner you turn, and the options are extremely hard to find if there are any options.Login: Windows: You can create any username you want, and edit each one, in many ways, without some program telling you that you can't (Apple). You can see the name in which the login is, instead of having to TYPE ONE, and only in CASE SENSITIVE FORM. Apple:: You have almost no options, and most of the time you can't even DELETE a username at all, while within the ADMIN account. You are asked time and time and time and time and time (endless) and time again for authentication of the user, where you need to type the name of the user, and the password which it DOESN'T REMEMBER.In Search, Windows allows you to select a right click menu and Find the Location of the file. Apple? All you can do is select it.Windows: It may take forever, but at least when you do a search it pops up every single detail, and you can even edit what items you want it to remit. Apple? Most of the time, you do a search, and it won't find any results, even a specific name, when it's right in front of you, on the DESKTOP.You plug in a USB drive in Windows, it can remember where you last had your usb drive, and when you take it out of the USB port, it's all fine. Apple: You disconnect, it gets angry with an error. You try to plug it back into the same port? Hell no, doesn't work unless you insert it into ANOTHER port, unless you restart that is. That's A Great Idea! Most of the time when you install a program on Windows, it either gives you an error, you can fix it, or it works. Apple? You can install a program hundreds of times over, and you go to double click it to open: NOTHING HAPPENS!Windows Media Player: Never asks you for a new version. Apple: Almost every single time you try to back up your iPhone, it gives an error stating you NEED to upgrade iTunes. Sometimes as well, you CAN'T UPGRADE IT. You must get a new Mac OS. OOPS, CAN'T DO THAT EITHER! (SOL). iTunes also, when trying to back up, IT WON'T SAVE THE SONGS.Thom Squire's answer to If you’ve upgraded to iOS 13, what are the biggest changes you’ve noticed?Downside to Windows:Constantly updatingViruses/MalwareNot as "eye pleasing"More crashesSlower startupWindows stutter
