call them what you will in the insurance industry one of the biggest reasons for that is I believe that a lot of companies have trained advisors to be one-dimensional we want to train advisors to be fully operational with all the different facets and the license that we hold and the wonderful things that we can do for our clients so first of all to retrain as definition is to teach someone new skills especially so that they can do a different job learn new skills to be able to do a different job now retraining advisors what am I talking about here all clients are not the same I repeat all clients are not the same you cannot sell one product to every single client and think that you're doing the right job give me an example whether it be term insurance some organizations only sell whether it be IRPs insurer retirement plan which is a fancy word for universal light to every single client that is not proper business for your clients the purpose of this from these organizations from their standpoint why they want to sell one product and be so focused on one product is simply simply for mass duplication one thing that we realized is that it's not necessarily the best all the for every client next every client is important not just the ones that fit into the box so this may cost in terms of faster duplication because you have to train agents to be more cognizant of all the different things and know what's going on and all the different you know products and so on that are available but it is the right thing to do at the end of the day next is we want to provide equal opportunity evenly or fairly based is the definition before being of the same quantity size debris or value having the same status rights or opportunities that's the big one for us when it comes to the quality next Oh myself turn this off before we get started next time sorry uniform an application or effect without discrimination having the ability or resources to meet a challenge that is equal the problem with this is there is no equal opportunity if I'm an AGA and I bring you into my AGA organization XYZ financial and we're operating under you know whoever financial as the mga if you decided to leave me or want to get promoted it's either number one going to cut into my pay or if you get it the same level as me I'm going to lose you all together okay so there's a J's agents a J's agents there is no equal opportunity in the industry without using the model that we've encompassed with experior which we'll talk more about next is leadership leadership definition the action of leaving a group of people or an organization leadership is so important I don't think it's just one thing I think it's the only thing that's going to help a business rise you know everything and falls on leadership and we're talking about leadership we're talking about providing unparalleled training that captivates people that keeps them exciting excited to continue to work top leaders are running the show this is one of the most important thing that the people that are that are running the business are leaders in the business not just people that have a corporate position or or title they're the moneymakers in the field that's who we want leading organizations are the people that are actually in the field working the business not sitting up on you know golden you know in a you know big high chair telling everyone oh you got to do this because I did it once upon a time 55 years ago no we want people that are in the game right now billing the business those are the money makers in the field also years of experience many of our leaders have but humbled to serve that is one of the most important things of a leaders that they're still humble they don't get so arrogant that they feel like they're untouchable we want leaders that are still hungry and in the game and that's what we have here an experience and it's not the blind leading the blind okay we want educated advisors training educated advisors next is utilizing social media one of the big things in building your business is to utilize social media so we talked about Facebook quite a bit as an organization I think Facebook is it's just an unbelievable tool and resource that you can use there's LinkedIn you can make so many connections build friendships or relationships that way as well Twitter also I'm not a big Twitter guy but a lot of folks are using Twitter with our organization Instagram is also helpful for you young cats out there I'm not an Instagram a guy I don't really understand it yet advisors stream again this is a tool that we use internally as an organization we have a partnership with advisor Street and understand online sales versus kneecap to kneecap there's a lot of talk right now in the industry about buying insurance online now can you buy term insurance online absolutely all day long but you can't buy universal life and whole life and participating plans and all these other facets critical illness with return a premium without return of premium disability there's so many aspects to financial planning for a family that you can't just expect it's going to be sold online properly all the time now again if someone knows what they need and what they want it's just a term policy for 20 years great go online and buy it but you can't educate you can't get the proper education in my opinion for long term estate planning and so on just buy purchase online so I still believe that this business for many many many years to come is still going to be a kneecap to kneecap business for eighty to ninety percent of the population out there here's another disadvantage I've seen out there in the industry is that a lot of companies don't want to work with the low producers of the non producers I mean Guelph Ontario I live right next to one of the Big Five MTA's and I've already had two phone calls in the last 16 days just from agents that were terminated from that operation because they weren't producing enough well I don't believe in that we don't believe in terminating low producers we believe in helping them write or they don't want you going for the small clientele we want the big cats well this is not a whale hunt in my opinion we train on prospecting we teach people how to get a name colonnades meet a name and we don't judge you whether you have a high net worth or a low net work we train on sales we do practice drill rehearse first presentation second close follow-up all that stuff and like the the icon says there you are not fired an experience you do something that's not compliant next is selling the dream well what is what is the dream the dream is not renewals and trailers I'm sorry if you work for 10 years straight doing a hundred thousand a year premium it had a hundred percent retention you would have a million of premium in force after ten years a two percent lifetime renewal on that means you're making a whopping twenty thousand dollars a year you've got a book valuation of forty to fifty thousand dollars that is not the dream to me I think the dream is more than renewals of trailers the dream is not selling your book one day the dream is not playing golf with the old boys on a Friday afternoon funny story I was actually invited to play golf this Friday and I said I'm not financially independent enough yet so I'm not going but the dream to me it's its freedom you know it's freedom from a boss it's freedom from having to do what someone else tells you to do when they tell you to do it you know we have to learn in our organization how to sell the dream or I think that right now there's such an incredible opportunity in the financial services industry with a company like experior that truly shaking up things in the industry we need as advisors to learn how to sell the dream because a lot of people have lost that dream inside of them the dream in my opinion is changing live showing people how to absolutely transform their life that is the dream to me so selling the dream to me is taken on a goliath you don't take it on an industry when everyone said you're crazy Jamie this can't happen it ain't gonna happen well here we are it's the end of August 2019 as I'm recording this we just cracked over a million dollars in premium that's more premium production than I did in my 10 years at one organization ten years combined we just did more in a single month after only five years and eight months of running this operation more than what I've done in ten years combined we just achieved in a single month and everyone told me it wouldn't happen you can't do it it's not gonna work you're crazy you're going to go out of business yet here we are now expanding across all provinces in Canada and going to the US but guys it wasn't because I wanted to to just you know build a company and get rich it was because I had a dream that I want to show people to hate there's I can do this this is something that I believe I can do and I'm gonna do it and I know that we have so many leaders in our company oh we just had a guy this month Baljeet farmer became the fourth person in our organization to run a hundred thousand dollar-a-month agency in his agency did over a hundred thousand in production in the months not over still three days left but you know that I thought couples came up with the Frank and Yolanda the Leo did it this year as well Donna Marie and resilient savior there their team has done it twice now and as a key ten and a South Halford have also done it once this year a hundred thousand dollar month agency I mean this is this is big big numbers this is what MGAs are running in production some of them out there we've got teams and advisors doing that which
