hi and welcome to another video by me flojo today we are going to be looking at the power automate add function so let's say you just want to combine the ages of two people you want to add to them so we have the age of 28 and the age of 33 in two separate variables they are integer variables and we want to combine them to see the total amount of years combined that these people have been on earth well you can use the add function so rather than doing 28 plus 33 we're going to then pass the two variables into the add function so we open the add function with the parentheses passing variable one comma and variable two and then what we do is we get a return an integer number of 61. and this is how you do addition on power automate so let's go in to power automate and take a look okay so we are on power automate and i have a manual trigger for my flow we then also have two variables being created we have user one eight and user two eight they are both integer types one has a value of 28 one has a value of 33. now we're going to use the compose action and the add function to get the total number of combined years that these people have been on the greater planet earth so how do we do this then we use the add function and we pass variable one comma and then variable two and if you wanted to add more so you have five variables you just add another comma and pass the variable in so you can iterate through each of the variables in this add function and it will simply add the first the second the third fourth fifth sixth seventh etcetera so in our example we are adding two ages together so let's kick this flow off and there you go the flow has run successfully we have both of our ages created in our variables and we get to the result of 61 because that is how you do addition in power automate that's it from me flojo check out my blog at fojo.io for more guides on the pal platform and don't forget to subscribe to my youtube channel and hit that like button if you enjoyed the video thanks for watching
