[Music] are you welcome to Madison total nerd Rochelle today I will show you how to encrypt a folder or file or folder it will be a folder so that you need to open it with a password which is nice also if you happen to forget your password just so you know there is no password reset function or something like this so remember what pass your password you put in because otherwise the file is basically lost alright so here we have a top secret file so let's open that up you see here we have a nice top secret file with secret documents and stuff so what we do is we open 7-zip if you don't have 7-zip you need to install 7-zip but it's useful because you needed to open drawer files and other types of the compressed files you can also right click the file and archive sent to archive but I removed a feature from my computers you can just open the 7-zip take the folder you want to encrypt throw it in here and then you get this option to make an archive now you might want to select this to zip for also the different types of the openers can open it because not everybody has support for the 7-zip format anyhow what you want to go though go to is encryption down here you can set the password and yes password password then we have two options here zip zip crypto and aes-256 zip crypto is less secure but windows default you software for opening sick files can you know use this aes advanced encryption something is more secure but you need a softer like 7-zip or WinRAR I think or winzip some of those or other external zip tools to be able to even open this file but I have it so let's you know write in a nice password here and you can share select show password or not by this checkbox so we just make a very hard password that's not a very good password and select ok now we have this top-secret zip and if I want to open it and when we double click this we can actually open the folder to see the name of it but when we try to open this we can't because we choose the advanced encryption option so we need to open it with the 7-zip so if you open it here and we want to read this we need to write in the password and then we can open it so it is protected and encrypted very nice well I hope this will help you to keep your secret and documents fold folders and well stuff you want to have an extra layer on security of because you know your windows password will not save you it's possible to get into your Windows computer if someone who gets over your computer you can get into the computer and if...
