hey this is Chris welcome back to the dealer for Gandhi today we have a very different very interesting item usually you see historical autographs sports autographs baseball cards that type of thing today we have an autograph but this is a mafia boss John Gotti so very different unique item we had posted this on our social media and we got a lot of feedback everybody was commenting about it they wanted to see and learn more about it so this is interesting so to get somebody like John Gotti his autograph even though he was maybe a celebrity it wasn't he wasn't someone you just walk up to and asked him for their autograph so in this case with Gotti the only way you could typically get his autograph would be on a letter a document a cheque or in this case this is a return address envelope and you'll notice from below his signature here where it says Gotti then you have his inmate number and then below that you have the US Penitentiary return address so really cool because you know obviously he was in the u.s. pen and then it was sent and this is really cool because we looked this up to Barbara to Chico of Staten Island New York so we looked her up to find out who she was and we found out more of the story so her father or uncle was an underboss of Gotti's and he had died in a car bomb that was actually meant for Gotti so he her you know family member was killed and that was revenge for Gotti killing Paul Castellano who was the head of the Gambino crime family at that time so he could become boss so it's a twist and it's pretty interesting that it's actually sent to DeCicco who kind of ties the whole story together also here we have the postmarked address here Carbondale Illinois which is where the penitentiary was and it's dated from 1998 so just a really cool different item really interesting I guess you could say this historical people do collect famous criminals in history their autographs John Dillinger is huge wildly collectible and of course Al Capone is probably the biggest most notable gangster that people collect and he on the other hand was a little different because he would actually sign autographs for people he was a celebrity at the time and he would sit you know there's pictures of him going to baseball games in Chicago sitting you know front row and signing autographs for kids and players and that sort so those autographs tracks are really valuable but I just want to show this off I thought this is a really cool ticket for an interesting item let me know what you guys think about this and it's something you would put into your own collection comment below let me know thanks for watching the daily Brigandi we'll see you tomorrow
