good day to you gonna be a little quicker video today like most days and burning books right now we're doing what covers two up here for a saddle stitched book printing the guts over here on the 1200 chugging along or here American access books those have to be bound and quick video today about two part so two part carbonless is still around some people still use it okay so you just watched me loading up these two-part carbonless forms and this homemade press that my dad made actually out of wood and that just presses everything down tight and holds it all together for the next process which is putting the glue on the back so this is two-part you can do 3 part 4 part 5 part but this is specially coated paper to make a duplicate and it's also specially coated so that when we put adhesive on the edge of the sheet it only sticks to every other sheet so once it's all glued this is called fan apart adhesive and will fan the sheets apart and then it'll just be sets of two for the whole thing so spin it around has been tighten down pull off the back here and all this is tight and squeezed so all we do is paint the adhesive on this side and wait an hour and Phantom apart so you know you have enough adhesive on this when you paint it on and it runs off so it's gonna pretty much soak up this first coat it's very liquid it's like milk I just give it a couple minutes come back and head it again [Music] all right second cake yeah it runs oh no you can see that became her when the paper no longer accepts it we're done and leave it set for an hour and then I'll show you the fan apart process they're all stuffed together now but when we tan a little part now they just stay together in sets so just all the white ones would be on top and then yellow under that and that's because the bottom of each of the white sheets of paper has a special coating on it so that sticks to that one and if you had a 3-part it would be the bottom of the white and the bottom of the yellow so three pages and stick together this one's done box it up chaparral so these panting presses are commercially available but mom and dad whenever started the business they they do it what they had and Dan had carpentry skills so he built his own press instead of buying one let's see probably 25 years later still works fine for what we do thanks for watching little comments questions below not too many people use carbonless anymore but there's still reasons that people use it it comes it's pre collated where you can buy it unfolded and kind of build your own for certain applications but carbonless is just a whole whole other ballgame as far as making sure you do it right so it works and the sheets are glued together correctly yeah like I said put your questions in the comments below and I got back to see you
