hey guys how's it going it's jay here so today we're taking a look at the pmc fact 8 speakers on this take 2 episode now this speaker was reviewed by jason thorpe on july 15 2020 so you can go read that review on soundstagehifi.com or by clicking on the link below this video now in this video i'm not going to go into specifics about the speaker design and all that little stuff you can go read jason's review for all the specifics and his excellent detailed review but in this video what i'm going to do is tell you what i experienced with the fact 8 signatures as the end user listening in my space at this time now the fact eight signature speakers is a transmission line using two 5.5 inch woofers and a one inch soft dome tweeter and it's a transmission line like like i said which is uh basically having a very long port tuned and based exiting into the front port in the bottom of the speaker cabinet and perhaps because of that the cabinet itself is slim but it's also very deep in comparison to other speakers now the speaker itself it has very good quality crossover capacitors from solin and clarity capacitors which is one of my favorite capacitors of all time it's clarity caps so i am very impressed with the quality of the capacitors used in the crossover network and on the back plate you can see a high frequency and low frequency adjustment with a switch and even though i stayed at 0db for the most part at least in my space and it worked perfectly fine i can see the benefit as some people may have more boomi sounding rooms or perhaps too bright sounding rooms and even to their taste they are able to adjust this so i see this as a huge benefit of this speaker in particular now one thing is that this speaker comes around at 12 000 us dollars and despite the fact that it uses high quality drivers uses high quality pmc transmission line technology it uses high quality capacitors everything about it is high quality including the feed that is installed to get these speakers in profit proper isolation one thing that really i can't see past it is the aesthetics and that may be something that is for some people a winner and for some people not so much and the aesthetic itself and the finish itself is rather to put it simply to me not really twelve thousand dollars worth when i look at the speakers it does not look like a twelve thousand dollar speaker but when you hear the speakers you immediately at least for me understand the high price tag of the speakers despite its simple aesthetics and like i said for some people it may be a winning factor because it has high wife approval factor but as jason would put it it's...
