hello there welcome to another video by ra solutions in this video what i'm going to be doing is showing you how to add check boxes into your spreadsheet [Music] so the spreadsheet i'm going to be working on today is this attendance register let's say you've got an after-school club i know quite a few schools use mis systems now to to take the register let's say you've got an after-school session a homework club revision club and you want to keep us tracked up to see whether the students been attending i'm going to show you how to add check boxes to your register here so normally what teachers would do they will put a white or end there whether the student is present so i've created a spreadsheet here showing week one week two but you can add as many columns as you want but i'm going to replace these y's and ends with a checkbox instead which you check or uncheck depending on whether they've been in your session or not so the first thing you need to do in excel is ensure at the top in the ribbon here you have got the developer tab showing so here i've got the developer tab showing if you haven't what you need to do is follow these steps so on the left top left hand corner you would see file click on file here that's one way of doing it then going down to the bottom left hand corner to click on options here that will bring this excel options box up here now in there what you would need to do is go down to where it says customize ribbons here click on customize ribbon now normally what you would find in the main tabs here this section here on the right you will see um hopefully if i click on all tabs you would normally see the developer tab showing at the moment it's been unchecked meaning it's not available at the top if i click on checked it should show when i click on ok at the top it already is so it's fine click on ok and it shows at the top here actually i've got it twice now here and here which is absolutely fine there is another way to access the ribbon again here click on that you got the customize quick access toolbar here click on more commands and you've got that showing there then you click on customize ribbon there again then what you do here is find where the developer option is i've got it acted twice uncheck one of them here which is fine but if you haven't got it on this side on the right side look on the left side and so what you would need to do is click on the drop down click on all commands and find it from the list and then simply once you've found it just click on this...
