talking today about some of the questions that people have about Amazon pay later I have used Amazon pay later maybe five six times I've had small purchases and I've had a larger purchase like a washing machine and I just want to talk to you about my experience with it but let me just I just wrote down some type some questions uh charging full amount full amounts okay so does Amazon charge you the full amount no they they're not supposed to charge you the full amount for any product that you get with them on their payment plan so for instance like this Logitech webcam I purchased on a monthly payment plan and I believe mine's was three months too let me go look at the okay purchased in three payments yeah so I purchased this one with three payments it was only 63.80 I believe that's what it says um so I purchased that with 63.80 and with this they did not charge me all at once there have been times when I have seen them hold money on my account in my bank and I have called the bank back because I'm like why did they take out so much money and I think it was for it was for a TV that I was trying to get that I actually canceled because I was like all right that's not gonna work so if the TV was 43 dollars for the first payment they were holding that amount of money um it did I think they did it for like five times and they took it I think it was like 43 something it took it out like five times but this is what the bank said they said they did not charge my account they're they're like pre-authorizing or something like that so when I talk with Amazon this is what Amazon said they said that they were trying to find I believe this was during Prime day they were they were not trying to find that whoever the seller would be I guess the quickest seller they would uh charge your card for that amount charge it for that amount okay this seller can do let's get the next seller I think that's how they explained it to me so I was kind of like a little skeptical like what in the world are they doing why would they take this out of my bank account and I actually went to the bank well I called the bank and I said why did they take my money out all this money and they were like well they're they're just holding it I'm like no it's out of my account I said look at my account it's it's taking all this money out so what the bank did was release that money that's all they did I just said can you please release that I said I canceled that television anyways just released uh that amount on my account and they did that for me they just released it and gave me back the money that they were holding they were holding I guess they make sure your card has the money on it and they were working with different sellers to see who can get the product to you so that has happened to me I think two times I've had that happen to me with Amazon um charging it all in in installments at one time but they're not supposed to do that and you can see this purchase I made with this webcam was the 23rd of this year this is today is I believe the I don't even know my my computer is um out of sync 14 15. I think today's the 15th or 16th of October and let me just show you something else that I purchased that I'm I got one more payment left these Skechers sneakers and they weren't even expensive but I still did the installment plan for them and I was purchased on June the 30th so you can do sneakers also there's a lot of sneakers that you can get and this one right here the this is the last thing I've actually done this year the Echo Show five and it was probably around that amount because I think it was for Prime day also and you can just see what the little monthly payment is mine is probably a little lower it was for a bundle and so I've done it for small things and I've and I've done it for larger items like I said it was a a washing machine that I did this is how your history will look when you finish paying for something on Amazon or even while you're paying they'll you can click on your orders and then go and look for your product and then just click on manager payment installments and it's going to tell you what you've paid on there so this was just showing what I paid you know the amount and that it was complete so Amazon is not supposed to charge your your card at one time I am going to continue to use Amazon monthly payments because it's convenient for me and this is what I I've figured out like if a product is going to be shipping like tomorrow then I don't I don't really like have a problem it's like okay I think like when the when the product may take a longer time they're going to continue to do that to your accounts like to make sure you got the money in there and they do that to me on just regular items I don't know if you ever look at your statement when you are ordering something from Amazon you'll see them charging your account two times you have to go look at your statement when you do an Amazon product you know when you purchase something look at your your account and you'll see there will be like a 24 payment and then it'll be another 24 payment for the same item but Amazon then puts that money back into your account I've noticed it a lot with my bank so I I think that's their way of making sure that you still got the money in before they ship it probably when items are going to take just a little bit longer but they do always give me that money right back they always put it right back in the bank account but they are not supposed to do that if you look under the right here like when you purchase an item it's going to tell you exactly how monthly payments work you select the monthly payment when you add it to your cart your initial payment so your your first payment your down payment is going to be equivalent to one installment payment so that that's going to be whatever your your first payment uh your whatever your first payment is supposed to be this one for instance is like 22 something you're going to pay your taxes shipping which I don't I've never had to pay shipping or anything like that and any add-on charges in full when you when we ship your items someone asked that do you get your item before you pay it off yes you get your item right after that first monthly payment and when that product is ready to ship they send it to you mine never has taken any long time the remaining payments will be automatically charged to your credit card or debit card I don't even use a credit card I use a debit card um in equal installments ing to the number of payments indicated when you selected the monthly payment option every 30 days so every every 30 days are going to charge your account now remember Amazon let me just keep this in my Amazon has many different payment options there's there's payment time frames they have three months they have five months they have 12 months and they have 24 months which I think is wonderful I hope to get uh 24 month and just take my time but the good thing about this is you can pay this off and I think I have that paying off at any time yes you can pay this off at any time you want you don't have to wait you don't have to wait until your your last payment so this is this is a great way and I tell people this is a good way for you to try something out without paying a lot of money so if you want to order you want to order a product and you don't have all the money up front supposing your product is like 500 and you don't have all that all up front but you want to um try it out would you rather be out 500 at one time or would you rather just go ahead and say well I only have to pay fifty dollars this time I'm trying out the product if it doesn't work or if I don't like it then I can return it you know within that time frame whatever they give you and you're only out for like fifty dollars but at least you tried out the product in the C okay I don't want this or I do want this and if you know you're going to have the money in like two months oh I know I'm gonna have the money in two months I can pay this off then pay it off you're not penalized I have done that I have paid off things early so yes you can pay off any item that you get early without any when without any penalty um how many purchase can you do at one time you can you can do I'm trying to think how many I've ever done at one time uh I don't think I've ever done more than one but I believe if I do something in one category I can't do it in another that same category like if I get a TV if I'm if I'm I'm waiting on the Fire TV from Amazon uh 50 or 55 inch if I do that I cannot get another TV with the same monthly payment option I can get something else like I can get a bed or I can get a Amazon tablet but it's you're not going to be able to get it in the same category and I've read that somewhere before on your site but I can't I don't know where that is but that is um that is something that you're not going to be able to do but you can do it like for sneakers I would be able to get sneakers I would be able to get a webcam I would be able to get a washing machine it just they're not in the same category you know what I'm saying so yeah you can you can do that okay I think I just did that okay now the terms here like I said when when you're when you're looking for a product let me go to the Echo Show five just you just click on whatever the five payment five monthly payment option or whatever and just read what they say here and then it says for more details you can click see about monthly payments and then you can just read about what they're telling you about monthly payment there is no interest on here so you got zero percent APR no finance charges no interest no hidden fees no credit check no application some people think oh you did this because you got good credit no it's not about your credit it's about what they offer you and I believe you got at least be on there for like one year on Amazon it used to be like that you'd have to have a year with them and have a a valid credit card on file and like I said I don't use a credit card I use a debit card for mine and you know I can I can switch it back and forth too your payment it doesn't have to stay on that same card you can always change it you can go back and say okay this month can you switch it to this one just make sure you do it before your payment comes out so you can switch the payment on that okay so those are the but my experience with Amazon uh monthly payment option I'm going to continue to use it as long as I can
