can the pixel stacking on an olympus micro four thirds match a gfx 100 who knows let's see today's segment is sponsored by lens protogo provided all of our cameras great place to rent equipment they're awesome especially if you have like a longer rental i love having them ship a camera out i keep it for a week or two weeks and then ship it back really affordable rates i love those guys great place so we went out and shot the gfx 100 and we wanted to see if pixel shifting on the olympus the olympus em1 iii and the sony a7r iv how that pixel shifting would match and look as far as resolution and clarity to a gfx 100 so we're we're redoing this segment because of some of the comments we got in the format comparison saying well you need to look at pixel shifting and it's a valid it really is a valid point can you do a pixel shift image and does it look as good as a gfx 100 on a micro four thirds or on a full frame you know it really was the very first sensor comparison we did someone said you guys should have tested high res mode on the olympus um and i was like actually that's a really good idea so let's we decided to go and try it out obviously just out of the box there are limitations for pixel shifting high-res photo mode things like that because you are taking multiple exposures over time so if you are shooting on a bridge like we are you can't do that with a one second shutter there are simply photos you cannot take using high res mode so it's not going to be applicable for every situation but if you're doing stuff like tabletop landscape things where there isn't a lot of motion in the frame then it could really up the overall look of your images at no cost basically anyways so we went out we just shot on the streets of la and we just took one exposure of the broad as an example so the broad is a nice building it has a lot of edges and corners and stuff which will show things like aliasing also you have a light side and a dark side so you see some of the the noise and the shadow and the detail or lack thereof so let's take a look so i'm just going to say this really quick before we start the reality of photography is if it's creative and it communicates and people will pay you for it that's commercial art it doesn't matter if you shot it with a shoe box with a piece of tin with a hole poked in the front of it it really doesn't matter so these kinds of conversations are interesting but the reality is you know they are for tech heads yes or those who really want...
