Renew byline

hi guys welcome back to ncic fellowship bible study we have been off for the past two weeks for the holiday season but i thank god that we are back i bless the lord for your presence so now let's get back into studying the word of god to show ourselves approve before we begin let me just say happy new years and shabbat shalom for this is the sabbath day of the lord the day our lord yahweh rested and made holy hallelujah we thank the lord as we start into this new year of 2021 and as we look back on the previous year many dealt with the setback in the loss of people the loss of finances the loss of intimacy and family and friend time the loss of fellowship in church some even experience a lack of faith the cares of the world has inundated us with many distractions causing us to get off track and to begin to lose sight of our faith our hope our calling causing this restlessness in our spirit we can truly say we have seen the fiery darts of the enemy but we do know as children of the most high no weapons formed against us shall prosper we do know that we serve a god that keeps us covers us and protects us well it's time to shake off that heaviness we're in a new year and although we're in a new year we still see some of the same problems from the old year into the new year we saw that just recently with the capital what happened at the capitol but just because there are those things that we have to deal with in life does not mean that we need to get our focus and off track we are the salt of the earth yeshua gives us his peace we have to get back on track we it's time for us to shake off this heaviness leave our burdens at the foot of yeshua and as the world approaches this global reset that everybody's talking about it is time for god's people to hit the spiritual reset button repent renew and restore our temple of god us our minds the way we think the way we do things the way we interact the life that we live we must repent we must renew and restore our mind and allow god to restore the joy in us and as we start out in this new year let me remind you of the restoration of elohim that can only be found in yeshua let me remind you that god is in control as we serve a god that neither slumbers nor sleeps he's a god who forgives he's a god who heals and protects and restores us we need to hit that reset and renew our faith renew our hope and our trust in the lord but first we must repent and this is where i want to start today's lesson so i want to go ahead and ask the holy spirit to come and teach us and guide us into all truth and righteousness and then i will share my screen and we will go right into today's lesson so heavenly father in the name of yeshua we thank you for this time that we can gather to study your word to show ourselves approve we pray for an outpouring of the holy spirit spirit of the living god come to teach us and guide us into all truth and righteousness lord open up our hearts quicken our spirits to receive your word as we study in jesus name amen so i'm going to go ahead and i'm going to share my screen here all right can everybody see the screen there all right repentance renewal restoration our scripture verse is taken from psalms 51 12. it says restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit so i talked about this spiritual reset how do we spiritually reset repent renew restore the temple of god first we have to repent why do we need to repent that is a great question because a lot of people think that they do not have to repent people think that they're okay the way that they are but deep down we know we know that we need to repent and come to god the word of god tells us that no one is without sin and as human beings in the flesh we sin daily we have a fallen nature therefore we must repent of our iniquities against god and turn away from an unrighteous lifestyle so what is repentance before i answer that question or before we answer that question because i'm sure most of us have a good idea of what repentance is i want to jump into today's reading so let us turn to the book of samuel we're going to read about david king david so let's go to second samuel we're going to go to chapter 11 and we're going to read 1-6 then we'll drop down to 13-17 and then to 26-27 all right second samuel chapter 11 and it reads in the spring at the time when the kings go off to war david sent joab out to the king's man into the whole of the israelite army then they destroyed all the amorites and besieged rabba but david remained in jerusalem one evening david got up out of his bed and walked around the roof of the palace from the roof he saw a woman bathing the woman was beautiful and david sent someone to go find out about her the man said she's bathsheba the daughter of eliam the wife of uriah the hittite then david sent the messenger to get her he came in he came she came to him and she slept he slept with her and now while she was purifying herself from her monthly uncleanness then she went back home the woman conceived and sent word to david saying i am pregnant so david sent this word to joab send me uriah the hittite and joab sent him to david now let's drop down to 13 to read 13 through 17. interviews at the invitation he ate and he drank with him that is david drinking and eating with uriah and david made him drunk but in the evening uriah went out to sleep on his mat among his master service and he did not go home in the morning david wrote a letter to joab and he sent it with uriah and it and it it wrote put uriah out on the front where the fighting is fierce with then withdraw from him so that he will be struck down and die so while joab had the city under siege he put uriah in the place where he knew the strongest defenders were when the men of the city came out and they fought against joab some of the men fell and david's army fell moreover uriah the hittite died so now let's drop down to verse 26 and read 26-27 when uriah's wife heard that her husband was dead she mourned for him after the time of mourning was over david had her brought to his house and she became his wife and bore him a son but the thing david had done displeased the lord so i want to stop right there so let's talk about repentance because we see this thing that david done now repentance is to turn away is more than just saying with your mouth i'm sorry i don't want to do it anymore but it's being broken in your spirit for something that you've done and you just broken in your spirit because you realize you sinned against god it's being remorseful unto god and turning completely away from that sin and from a sinful lifestyle the king david was crafty he killed he craftily killed uriah a faithful soldier in his army david took uriah's wife by misusing his power his motive was driven by the lust of the flesh and fleshly desires david's actions displease god that's what the word says it displeased god and how did david know that it displeased god because the prophet nathan expressed god's thoughts to the king and after david had heard this he recognized that he had sinned in a big way against god therefore when we sin it is an act against god king david begged god for god's mercy he felt like the presence of god had left him he deeply repented he cried out to the lord created me a clean heart oh god and renew a steadfast spirit within me psalms 51 10. and although although david had caused death to a man he committed adultery with bathsheba he fell on his face with humble repentance he did not make excuses or try to rationalize his wrong or justify what he did wrong he's repented so if you're listening to the sound of my voice and you're listening to this lesson just know there is nothing that you have done in your life that you cannot get forgiven for but you've got to ask god you've got to cry out to the lord you have to repent god saw the heart of david and this is one of the reasons why god said that david was a man after his own heart so let's read some more scriptures on repentance let's go to psalms 51 this is david's psalm that he wrote when he was in repentance 51 1 through 4 and then we'll drop down to 9 through 10. interbreeds have mercy on me oh god according to your unfailing love according to the great compassion blot out my transgressions wash away all my iniquities and cleanse me from my sins for i know my transgressions and my sins is always before me against you and you only have i said and done what is evil in your sight so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge so now let's go down to 9-10 and david says further in the in this text hide your face from my sins blood out my iniquities created me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me so now let's go to the book of acts and let's read go to acts 3 and let's see what access about repentance we're going to go to three and we're going to drop down to verse 19 and it reads repent then and turn to god so that your sins may be wiped out that the times of refreshing may come from the lord now let's go to acts 17 30. in acts 17 30 says in the past god overlooks such ignorance but now he commands all people everywhere to repent everybody all people it doesn't matter what office you hold what job you work what education you have how high you are in the spirit or whether you are new are you a new convert whether you just found the lord and accepted him it doesn't matter where you are the commandment is for all everywhere to repent so acts 20 20 and 21 says i have declared both jews and jews and greeks that they must turn to god in repentance and have faith in the lord first john 1 8 says that if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us for all we know that the word tells us that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god we must all come into repentance second peter 3 9 says the lord is not slow to fulfill his promises as some count slowness but his patience he's patient towards you not wishing that any should perish but that all comes to repentance that's the loving god that we serve god is merciful and full of grace and he's waiting for us to repent so now let's talk about the renewal process okay so renew to make new again the greek word is anew meaning to be renovated by the inward reformation renewal starts from within it's not about putting on new clothes it's not even about washing up making up our hair and all the stuff that we do to make ourselves look new and refreshed no this is a renewal that reforms us which is in our inward parts and it starts in our mind renewal starts first in the mind the spirit of renewal being renewed in the mind means putting off former things the former conduct that is from a sinful lifestyle remember we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity you have to be a new man a new creation in christ reformation is a sanctification process it's a process it takes place first in the spirit of a man experiencing a renewal in the spirit will transform your mind and your soul and your body everything will start to change about you when you start first in your spirit you've got to renew your mind first you can you cannot continue to defile your temple the holy spirit will not dwell in a defiled temple therefore as a follower of yeshua we have to do an inventory we got to check out our habits and if we just can't see ourselves because usually we don't ask god to examine us examine us that we may see the era of our ways and see what life habits we have that defile us mentally physically emotionally and spiritually we have some things to shake off we have some things we need to kill and this is part of that renewal process so now let's go to our scriptures and let's go and read let's go to the book of psalms and see what david has to say about renewal in psalms 139 23 24 it says search me o god and know my heart see if there be any wicked ways in me ephesians 4 22-24 says you were taught with regard to your former ways to put off of the old self which is being corrupted by deceitful desires we put off that old person that old self that old way of thinking that old mentality because that is dr driven by deceitful desires second corinthians 5 17 says that if any man be in christ are you in christ if any man is in christ he is a new creation old things are passed away behold all things will become new does that mean that it happened overnight let's keep it real it's a process sanctification the renewal is a process just like it takes a process before a diamond can shine it has to go through the fire it has to be tried to be renewed so that it shines it's a process it's a daily walk with yeshua it's a daily pressing into the lord it's a daily repentance a daily and we have to be admonished by the holy spirit we have to be corrected and this is a process that happens daily now let's continue reading romans 12 2 says be transformed by the renewing of your mind there are so many scriptures that bears witness that read the renewal process takes place in the mind isaiah 40 13 says they who wait on the lord here's a key they who wait on the lord shall renew their strength so now let's talk about restoration god restoring us how do we get restoration when we hit this reset after we repent and we begin to walk in this this newness of putting up the old self and into a new creation in christ returning the word restoration means returning something back to its former condition the scripture describes restoration as repairing and healing why does god's people need restoration well god's chosen they turned away from him and they went after other gods we know that from reading in the the tanakh the old testament they turn from the righteousness of elohim just as we have turned away from what is good and pure and holy many may have not known any better before the holy spirit opened their eyes before the holy spirit opened up our eyes and started revealing truth and righteousness to us but now that we know the way it is up to us to turn from the path of destruction that we were on and turn from evil influences to turn away from those things that are detestable to elohim like our idols in our lives like going after other gods serving the world before we serve god we have to turn away from those things we're in a prophetic season we're at the time where we're coming closer and closer no man knows the day of the hour the time that our lord is coming back but as we see the signs that have come to pass and prophecies being fulfilled we know what season we're in we have to come back to the lord we can't waver between two opinions we have to turn from our wicked ways and repent renew our minds so that god can heal us heal the land heal your heart heal your family heal relationships heal the body of christ god wants to restore us god can restore to us the blessings and the promises that he said that he would give us god is loving and forgiving that although we were yet sinners yeshua died for us to restore us back to him back by his sacrifice and death on the cross at calvary's hill that's how we got restoration back unto the father through yeshua the second divine aspect of god of the godhead this was the ultimate restoration god's plan his plan to restore us all the way back from the garden of eden god had that plan of restoration god had you in mind he had me and mine he wants to that he wants to restore us and the restoration comes through the broken body of yeshua the blood that was shed for you and i so now let's read some scriptures on restoration let's go to acts 3 and 21. and we're already on acts 3 let's drop down to 21 and it reads heaven must receive him until the time comes for god to restore everything he promised amos 9 14 says i will bring my i will bring my people back from exile they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them that was the prophecy when the children of israel were scattered god had given a word through the prophet amos and you prophesied that he was going to bring his children back from exile and hosea 6 1 he says come let us return to the lord for he has torn us into pieces but he will heal us second chronicles 7 14 says and let me turn to it because i only have a piece of it there second chronicles and this is everybody should know this and memorize this even myself second chronicles 7 14 it says if my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves pray and seek my face and turn turn from their wicked ways then i will hear from heaven and i will forgive their sins and heal their lamb this is one scripture that we must never never forget we have to repent we gotta turn that's the repenting turning away jeremiah 30 17 says i will restore to you the health and heal your wounds declare the lord job 42 10 says now catch this about job it says after job prayed for his friends the lord restored his fortune and gave him twice as much as he had before you see the lord wants to restore us he wants to heal us but we have to go through the process to start the repentance we must humble ourself before the lord daily with a humble heart was a man that proves his faith in his loyalty to god no matter what the enemy brought jobs away no matter what job endured the death of his children all of them all of his livestock everything he lost he endured sickness and infirmity within his own body an emotional and mental anguish his friends his friends were forsaking him and while job was going through all of that process god knew god knew he was just waiting for the right time to heal and restore he was waiting for the right time to heal and restore him remember elohim knows what the end of our story is he wrote the book on our life so in closing i want you to notice that when god restored job back after he had prayed for his friends and that betrayed him after all job went through god finally blessed him once again he blessed him after he prayed for those who did him wrong his friends portrayed him his friends talked about him and job still prayed for them just like king david just like he did he turned away let us have a spirit of renewal let us have a spirit of renewal in our minds and allow the lord to transform us ask god to renew and give renew us and to
