Save lots date
[Music] hey guys it's me jazz and today's video might be a long one i'm just gonna go ahead and let you know but trust me this video is jam-packed with money-saving things and it is all in the category of food and a little bit about gas i will touch on later so food and gas are essential so i definitely wanted to go ahead and get this video out first so this is gonna be the first video of my three-part modern couponing series so i am really big into saving money like i don't pay full price for anything and i don't think anyone should so the first thing we're going to be talking about is groceries so food that you plan on bringing home and cooking and then the second subcategory is going to be going out so how to save money when you go out and eat and the third part is going to be gas how to save money on gas alright so groceries now if you guys have seen a couple of my other money related videos then you guys know that i participate in focus groups so i do focus groups which is basically companies pay me for my opinion i do this in my spare time it's a very high paying side gig now with a lot of these companies being moved to online only because of covet and everything basically they send out virtual gift cards instead of getting physical gift cards when they used to be in person visa gift cards and things like that now they're virtual and some focus group companies that i participate in actually pay me in straight up amazon gift cards so this is what i do with a lot of the money that i get when it is an e-card i usually apply all of my gift cards to amazon so if you guys want to know about how to get in this company there is a course that i took and this is a course that tells you every single company to sign up for to get into these groups and it's called paid for your say i will leave the link for paid for your save down below so one focus group app that's actually on my phone that i use a lot they send me out amazon gift cards whenever i complete the tasks which are very quick and short and easy and this is the app that i'm going to get into more detail in a later video but they send me amazon gift cards like i get amazon gift cards weekly weekly weekly weekly i'm getting amazon gift cards and so that's that and then other focus group companies they'll pay me with a gift card company called the virtual reward center so i get a visa gift card from the virtual reward center that this company pays me with so that's a visa gift card and then this other company that i do focus groups for a lot they pay out using a gift card provider service called tango and so with tango i go ahead and get an amazon gift card with my tango money and then other apps that i have on my phone to make money here and there i go ahead and cash it out in amazon gift cards now when i have the visa gift card what i do is i apply it to my amazon account so i go to amazon i click on my account and then i go to my gift card balance and you can reload your balance so when i go to reload my balance and when it says how do you want to pay i go ahead and put in the card number the expiration date and my name and the numbers on the back of the card just like it's a regular card just like it's a physical card but it's an e card and so i go ahead and use it as if it's a physical card with all the numbers and that way i am applying that visa card to my amazon balance well now why do i cash out a lot of my reward stuff that i get from focus groups to my amazon account the reason why is because amazon if you guys don't know amazon owns whole foods so you can get whole foods gift cards with your amazon money so i trade in my amazon money my gift card balance and all of that for whole foods gift cards and this way i am able to essentially eat for free so 90 of the time i am eating for free and i'm using my whole foods gift cards to eat honestly whole foods is it's a little bit on the expensive side but the food is just so much better for you it's organic it's fresh and i love whole foods and i love the fact that i'm able to shop there and get all my grocery needs for free with all this focus group money that i've been getting so if you get amazon gift cards or if you sign up for the focus group course and you start getting visa cards and amazon gift cards you can actually get things that you need with amazon i know there's a lot of memes out there they're like oh here i am pointlessly buying stuff on amazon again like no nothing no more pointless purchases i get whole foods gift cards with my amazon money and it's great always going to need food so i get into different increments i get 100 gift cards 150 gift cards 200 gift cards the largest amount that i purchased at one time was a 400 whole foods gift card because one focus group paid me 400 and that was just in the beginning of this year so like three weeks ago um and i was like yes they paid me via tango so i went ahead and cashed that out for a 400 amazon gift card and used that to get a 400 whole foods gift card and i got the whole month of january's groceries with that card so that's great um if you guys are not on the focus group train jump on it jump on it i will leave the pay for your say link down below we can get the list of all of these focus companies so that is what i'm doing 80 to 90 of the time but when i wasn't doing that and if i'm not doing that i'm gonna let you guys know a whole bunch of other tips this video is not done i'm gonna let you guys know a whole bunch of other tips on how to save money when you go grocery shopping or when you eat out let me go ahead and tell you the five apps to download and i'm gonna get into how i use them and when i use them in order so that it kind of makes sense so if you do not already have a pencil and paper with you go ahead and get that because this is going to be really really in order and precise so that you're not confused because couponing especially when you're using apps and using physical things it can get confusing if you don't have an order of operations so unless you guys know the order of operations but first i need you guys to write down these five apps to download so that you can go ahead and get started with all this money saving stuff when it comes to groceries the first app is ibotta go ahead and download ibotta all the links will be down below you can use my link to download about it and they'll give you a reward for doing that go ahead and download checkout 51 go ahead and download fetch and download target the target app if you do not have it and then go ahead and download the cash app app if you do not have it those are the five main apps that i use when it comes to saving money on groceries and now i'm going to tell you how so first step is before you go to the store so this is prep work so before you go to the store this is what i need y'all do check ibotta and add clippings for cashback so on ibada they have a whole bunch of different brands and foods and all types of things that you can clip in advance they call it clipping it's just like adding it to your money saving thing or whatever so go ahead and clip your coupons via the ibotta app before you go to the store this way when you're making your grocery list or before you go to the store you already know what you're going to get because you know what you can save money on now not you're not going to of course clip everything because you may not need everything but if you're going to go ahead and get it all ready then go ahead and clip it or if you plan on getting butter right but there's a butter brand on ibada right now that has a promotion going on if they're relatively the same price go ahead and go with the one with the promotion so you can save more money on that you know it's not always brand new things and things that you don't need like sometimes it's very generic and it's not brand name at all like you could save 50 cents on apples any apples you know that's anything that's any brand or you could say 50 on oatmeal any oatmeal any brand so they're not always brand specific but go ahead and check your body and clip your coupons virtually with the app so that you already know what you're going to get when you go to the store the next thing is if you plan on going to target same thing go to the target app and click on the circle section which is their i guess coupon section or discount section of their app click on the circle section and do the same thing clip your coupons so that that way when you scan your barcode at target you can get the money off but that's target specific okay next check the checkout 51 app okay same thing clip your coupons on checkout 51. they do not always have the same coupons they have totally different things most of the time so double up you know double up and i'll show you how to do that when we continue but this is just the prep work before you go to the store now the last prep work that i need y'all to do is make sure your cash app boost is turned on so cash app has their own pretty much debit card so you you're going to need that for this and with their debit card you can add boost to the card you can save money when you plan on using it if you have already clipped the boost that you want to use so a lot of times there is a boost on there for 10 at any grocery store that is the boost that i clipped the most so go ahead and clip that boost 10 off when you shop at any grocery store using your cash app card go ahead and click that in advance before you go to the store so the second step to saving money on groceries is at the store so while you're at the store what are you gonna do when you're checking out specifically you need to make sure that you scan your store rewards cards whole foods has their own rewards card this is probably regional whatever but kroger has their own rewards card where you save extra money just for shopping at that store with their little rewards card so if your store has their own rewards card make sure you go ahead and get that if you don't have it already and do not forget to scan it because you're gonna be saving off even more money when you check out so next if you are at target if you are at target and you're checking out make sure that you scan the barcode on your target circle app so that you go ahead and get the coupon supply that you clicked earlier and then also pay with your target red card so the target red card you get five percent off every purchase every day at target i love the target red card i've had it for like six or seven years now um it is a debit card there's no credit check and they actually have a really big promotion going on right now with target red card that if you um get it and you get like a you get a 50 target gift card if you sign up for target red card so y'all go to the store and get you your target red card if you do not have it already i know it's like annoying when they ask you to check out do you want to sign up for a red card it's not a credit card it's a debit card no credit check there's no like con at all with the target red card you get free shipping on anything that you order on target.com and you get five percent of every single day purchases get the target red card okay so if you're at target make sure that you go ahead and swipe that to get five percent off as well as your barcode to get those coupons clipped and save money that way as well if you're at any other store make sure that you use your cash app card with your boost that has already been applied before you went to the store so you can get 10 off of the entire grocery order so as you can see we are layering up savings and that is what i do i layer up my savings i don't wanna leave no money on the table okay period all right so that's at the store done now after the store this is where the other apps come in you save your money at the store you've saved your money when you check out now we need to upload the receipt to three apps so you're gonna upload your receipt just take a picture give it the same picture take a picture of your receipt upload it to ibotta upload it to checkout51 and upload it to fetch okay now ibotta will go ahead and scan your receipt and it will give you cash back if you got the things that you said you were going to get that you clicked before same thing with checkout 51 works the same way they'll scan the receipt if you got items that you clipped on the coupon section before you went to the store then you will get cash back in the checkout 51 app and in the ibada app and also these are other apps that when you get the cash back you can go ahead and cash out for the amazon gift cards and get those hopeful gift cards so you see how we're just kind of adding up the savings here okay um and then lastly fetch now we did not mention fetch in the pre-work or the prep work we did not mention fetch because fetch has no prep work and i really need these other ones to get on board okay because fetch has no prep work bench will scan your receipt and find the savings for you you do not have to clip the coupons ahead of time for fetch fetch will do the work for you so i need these other ones to get on board but the reason why we use all three is because we're not leaving anybody on the table okay we're gonna have cash back in our fetch we're gonna have cash back in our checkout 51 and we're gonna have cash back in our ibotta okay okay so that is how you save money when you go grocery shopping i hope you guys wrote that down feel free to run this video back and make sure that you guys you know got that because it's really important and you save a lot of money let's talk about going out so if you want to go out to eat don't feel like cooking or whatever sometimes with some of these savings tips for going out to eat to be honest sometimes it's cheaper to go out to eat than to go grocery shopping because some of these deals are just amazing the first thing i need y'all to do and just take a day to do this you know just take a day to really sign up with these things because it could be a little time consuming and you may not want to do it little by little go ahead and sign up for restaurant reward emails and apps so when you sign up for a restaurants reward program which can be just joining their email list or downloading their app when you do that nine times out of ten they give you a bonus just for signing up for your first time and then you get accumulated points that can give you bonuses and what these bonuses are are free meals free drinks free appetizers free desserts money off your bill and more like it's crazy some of these reward programs so i found a website that has a really good list of restaurant reward programs to sign up for and they tell you what you get as a sign up bonus and what you can get over time i will leave that blog list down below just go ahead and go through it and sign up for those companies if you eat there you know if you're totally against the company you don't want to eat then don't sign up for it but if you eat there sign up with the reward program now i'm going to be talking about the ones that are not listed on that list that's a really good list it's really comprehensive but it does not have everything and some of the things they do not have i don't know why they don't have because they're amazing reward programs now the first one i want to mention is outback so outback has a great reward program it's definitely worth signing up for so sign up for outback's reward program zaxby's zack speeches came with an app and the way that they're trying to promote their app is if you download the zaxby's app you get a free meal you get a free meal that's crazy sign up with the zaxby's app also sign up for this restaurant it's like a brunch company sign up for first watch first watch has a great sign up bonus as well and you know you get birthday rewards so you know you can tell the truth about your birthday or you could say it's january 31st whatever works for you you know what i'm saying january 31st is the date of this video going out by the way just in case i didn't peep what i'm trying to say anyways next download the steak and shake app the steak shape app gives you great rewards as well especially a sign up bonus um the red robin email list is great also now last but not least everybody everybody should have the chick-fil-a rewards app if y'all don't have the chick-fil-a app you are leaving free food on the table like what lit okay the chick-fil-a app is the best restaurant reward program period i swear every single time i log into my chick-fil-a i got free stuff free stuff free stuff free meals free nuggets free mac and cheese free soup free fries free drinks free they give out so much free stuff like it's really crazy they really appreciate their customers everyone knows chick-fil-a has great customer service and i've had their app for like two years now and it's amazing so you scan the app when you purchase from them and you get points for every dollar that you spend but also when you leave a couple days later a lot of these it's store specific because it's a franchise company but the store that the chick-fil-a store she went to the franchise owner will send you a free gift to come back like it's crazy it's so crazy i get free gifts all the time i get free stuff all the time from the chick-fil-a if you do not have the chick-fil-a app you need to download that today today free stuff left and right left and right left right left and right they give out so much free stuff and then what's even better is when you get free stuff and then you get a receipt always ask for a receipt because the best thing is when you get something for free you get a receipt and then you get that free chicken sandwich survey code on the free receipt what it's just free on top of free on top of free all right so yeah go ahead and download that now smaller companies or more local restaurants and things like that groupon groupon groupon groupon if you're not signed up for groupon what are you doing first of all if you're not signed up go ahead and sign up with my link down below with groupon you save up to eighty percent up to eighty percent on food and activities it's all local stuff so it's local things to do local things to eat and they have some really great restaurants on there that are local and they may not have like a huge advertising budget like some of these other restaurants but they're really great restaurants and the promotion is great it'll be like fifty percent off your meal or you um get this for ten dollars and you get a fifty dollar credit just for spending ten dollars and the thing that i love about groupon is that their deals are groupon specific you're not going to find the deals on groupon on any other website and i really like that they are groupon exclusive deals you're going to save so much money when you eat out with deals that you found on groupon okay so before you go out to eat see if it's on groupon or see if you can find a comparable restaurant that is offering an amazing groupon deal now another thing that's kind of like groupon but it's more of like strictly certificates and you buy certificates but for like dirt cheap and their value is worth like way more so it's basically getting like money off of a gift card basically is restaurants.com and so how restaurants.com works is they're local restaurants mainly they're normally like huge big brands but sometimes they have things on there that are extremely recognizable but mostly it's just like local places trying to get their name out there and you get these gift certificates on restaurants.com for next to nothing and they always have promo code so another thing before you check out on groupon or on restaurants.com make sure that you use the promo code to get money off of what you're getting money off of okay double up double look um this is how restaurants.com will work so example you may pay two dollars for a fifteen dollar voucher for a restaurant but you gotta read the fine print so you pay two dollars for that fifteen dollar voucher but that restaurant will probably most likely require a thirty dollar minimum so essentially it's fifteen dollars off thirty dollars fifty percent off right and you pay two dollars for that fifty percent off gift certificate so that's how it works so yeah those are the three things that i have for you guys when you're going to go out and eat make sure that you download and join the restaurant reward programs um check groupon for restaurants for local restaurant deals and check restaurants.com for local restaurant deals all right now last but not least i'm going to touch a little bit on gas okay so i really only have one thing to say about gas because it's the best way it's the best way and i really wish i would have known about this app sooner like i swear yo do you like paying full price for gas i didn't think so so if you don't like paying for price for gas download get upside okay the get upside app you save money off of gas per gallon okay per gallon you don't have to do a full fill up or anything it's per gallon so how git upside works you download it using my code because you get 15 cents off per gallon if you use a referral code so i have a referral code for you guys you get 15 cents off gallon bonus that's on top of what you're already going to get right so you open up the app and then it'll show you the gas stations around you that you can get money off per gallon so you just click on the gas station that you plan on going to and you do have to claim it's called like claiming your rewards you have to claim your reward before you go to it it's like clipping a coupon for the about and all that stuff we talked about earlier so you're gonna click on that gas station and you're gonna claim that reward so this one here for me when i claim it i'm gonna be getting 51 cents off regular gas 51 cents off per gallon of regular gas so instead of paying 2.15 i'm gonna get 51 cents per gallon cash back so at the at the gas station it's two dollars and fifteen cents per gallon i'm gonna go ahead and do my little fill up and then when i'm done i click upload receipt so i upload my receipt it shows how many gallons i got how much i paid and all that stuff a couple days later they go ahead and give you 51 cents per gallon that you spent back in your account and you go to the little cash out section and you can cash out for all these gift cards now what did we talk about earlier amazon gift card so i'm always getting the amazon.com gift cards and i'm getting whole foods gift cards with that um i love it because everybody needs gas everybody's gas like get get money off your gas okay i did a lot of talking in this video per usual i hope you guys enjoyed it that is my ultimate list of how to not pay full price for food or gas period don't forget to check out the description box because i'm going to have all the links and all the information down there for you guys leave some comments down below i have two other videos in this modern day couponing series coming out so stay tuned for that and i will see you guys in my next video bye
