gateways an option for using credit cards and one for using a PayPal account this gives you a level of control if you wanted to only accept cards only PayPal accounts or both within the payment gateways section you can reorder your gateways see their ID and see what is enabled with one quick view by dragging a gateway via its hamburger menu you can put them in your preferred order the gateway you put first if enabled will be the one that is selected by default at checkout for your customers to go into a specific gateway settings you can either select its name in the Gateway column or head to the top of the page and select their respective submenu there for brevity we won't cover each specific gateways settings here instead we have documentation and video for each one with that
