Is it necessary to have hard-copies of signed documents for legal and financial purposes?
Necessary? No. A good idea? Yes, unfortunately. There's this little tiny part of evidence law known as the "best evidence" rule - which basically holds that the "best" evidence available will be admitted in court, if there is dispute as to the authenticity of copies that are presented at trial. What this means for the digital world is basically that they guy with a printed form with original signatures on it is going to trump your electronic copy of the same. Now, if there is no physical original with signatures, then there's no problem, but if there is any such copy out there, you should have an identical, originally-signed copy to produce for the court in the event of a challenge or legal issue related to the agreement.

What does the typical business development deal execution process look like?
Set a Goal - What are you trying to accomplish? Are you looking to sell something? Find a partner? Looking for PR?Prospect - This is probably the most dreaded step for any person in business development. Find THE PERSON you need to contact to get the deal done.signNow out - Contact the decision maker and give them a quick pitch of what you're proposing. Schedule a meeting, either in person or by phone, and discuss how and why you should work together.Present - Discuss the benefits of working together. Why would this deal is be worth executing. Discuss logistics and details.Followup - Sometimes people get busy and a deal can be put on the shelf. Kindly follow up and rehash the conversation. Move Forward - Whether this is signing an agreement, delivering a prototype or scheduling another meeting. Take the necessary steps to get the ball rolling. Close the deal - Get everything squared away. Deliver on your promise and make sure your partner delivers on theirs. Deal is Live - Sitback and enjoy the benefits you discussed in step 4. Account Management - Make sure your partner is happy. Followup every few weeks and see if there is anything they need. By this step, your partner at the other company should be a friend and not just a business partner, so treat them like one. Repeat - See Step 1

Why are voter ID laws so controversial? Assuming that state issued photo IDs are made easy to procure, then what's the problem?
The simplest place to start is that Voter ID laws have an impact on the outcome of an election. People who are engaged in society almost all have a legal form of ID, and they skew Republican compared to people who are living off the grid for any of several reasons, who generally skew Democratic. Though there have been exceptions, with 2008 being the best and most recent example, Republicans tend to be more likely to vote than Democrats. Even in states where there is no voter id law, this is an undisputed fact on the ground. It's an old not-joke that Republicans love to see bad weather on Election Day, because it makes a Republican win slightly more likely. Polls of all registered voters usually show Democrats two or even more percentage points ahead of where they appear if the poll is of likely voters.Republicans like democracy. The question is whether it is defined as rule by a majority of all citizens, or by a majority of those who cast a vote. Obviously what a Republican would like to see is that every eligible voter in the country would register, educate themselves, and come out and cast a Republican vote. Even if they could get away with it, which they plainly could not, Republicans do not want to win elections by manipulating the outcome. They have a partisan motive to suppress turnout, and when they've been found guilty of doing that, they often end up literally behind bars. Republicans obviously do not have a partisan motive to increase general turnout. It would seem that both parties could agree on any system that allows every voter an equal opportunity to cast a legal vote. But there is no such system. The Republican will say that we have a system that is easy enough, and makes it possible for anybody who wants to do so to cast a vote. The Democrat will say that low turnout is proof that it wasn't easy enough. When it comes to balancing expense versus achieving universal voting, Republicans have a political motive to remove obvious obstacles and then let the people who want to vote cast their votes. It is equally partisan to suggest an extreme on the other end; we could conduct elections much more like the way we do a census; we could hire millions of people to go to their houses and collect their opinion, whether they had any interest in providing it or not. It would come closer to the ideal of democracy. We spend money running elections. We could install more voting machines in more voting locations, and boost turnout slightly. The cost would be high. At some point surely even someone who is dedicated to the notion that every citizen should vote will perceive a crossover point at which collecting more votes is not worth the cost. But it seems inevitable that a small government party will come into conflict on this issue when debating with a party that will directly benefit from more spending. With no voter id law whatsoever, it's harder to vote if you're poor. It is also harder to eat well and harder to get a good education and harder to get to work. All are rights that we want to work very hard to guarantee to every American. But we can't make it equally easy for poor people to do much of anything - your life isn't equal to prosperous citizens when you don't have any money. As of today, almost all Americans can request an absentee ballot by telephone, fill it out, mail it in, and have their vote counted. I am unaware of laws that require forms of ID that are expensive to obtain. I would like to learn more. It is my understanding that voter id laws include provisions to make the process of obtaining an ID no more difficult than voting itself. And a word about racism follows.A hundred years ago in many areas of this country you could legally discriminate on the basis of color. (Obviously you could do that much more recently, as well: I myself went to a legally all-white school as a first grader. I am that old.) Later, you could charge a poll tax. As a shameful but interesting bit of ephemera from the elections of years past, I have a poll tax receipt signed by my grandfather in 1932. The poll tax was $1.00, and that was a sufficiently high fee to prevent most African Americans from voting. The question now is whether the cost of an ID card is high enough that it prevents many minorities from casting a vote. Because of a legacy of centuries of racial discrimination, anything that impacts the poor impacts a higher percentage of minorities than whites. However, in any given income bracket, whites make up the majority. A policy that adversely affects the poor affects more white people than black people. This math isn't difficult, but it means that disproportionate impacts on African Americans are also primarily visited upon whites. If I had a political strategy that called for reducing black votes and getting white votes, a poll tax (or any poverty-driven mechanism) would be illogical in the extreme. Those who try to make a case that Republicans are in favor of laws that do not maximize the turnout of poor voters have an argument, because more government money could pay for more mechanisms to gather votes. Those who try to make an argument that Republicans are in favor of laws that are aimed at hurting minorities are at best mistaken, completely and utterly. If they have signNowed this conclusion without thinking through the math, they are expressing a valid concern that has to be discussed and addressed. If they are saying that the voter id laws are racially motivated even though they understand the math, and are merely asserting this accusation because it is damaging to the Republican Party, they are engaging in a common form of partisan politicking. In this case, it strikes me as being far out of bounds, both because it ascribes completely unacceptable moral qualities to Republicans with no evidence, and because it serves to shed heat on the discussion instead of light. It is demagoguery, and I condemn it in the strongest terms I know how to express politely.

Why don't IIT/IIM graduates have government service bonds as medical graduates? Don't they have social responsibilities towards
This Answer Can be taken as a Reply to Balaji Viswanathan’s answer to this QuestionIt was a Thursday Morning. Young 3rd Semester Students came into the Operation Theater for first time to observe a Surgery. My Professor was performing a Right Hemicolectomy( A Surgery where almost half Large intestine is cut and removed). The first Thing My Professor asked them is when they started their MBBS?They said in 2017.My Professor said them 5 More Medical colleges are getting open in 2019 in West Bengal and to survive in this world they have to become excellent Doctors. The truth is Quality of Medical Education in India is Pathetic and Opening Hundreds of Medical Colleges Won’t help but will create a situation like B.tech where we have People with degree but not Skill. Let me elaborateI saw a Patient with Breast Carcinoma in a Peripheral Hospital. I Couldn’t do anything for her as neither I have expertise or experience of handling such case hence, I referred her to Medical College. ( I have Good marks in Surgery and believe I have good grip over theory of Breast Carcinoma)Before Modernization Small Surgeries like hydrocele, circumcision, Incision and Drainage, True Cut Biopsy were done by MBBS Doctors. Now this surgeries are performed by residents. MBBS Doctors are not allowed to do any surgeries. So the point I want to make is, that having degree won’t help me or my patients but quality training. MBBS have been reduced to theory where you sit for exams and pass to get a degree. The Art of Medicine is rarely taught and with limited time one can’t master or become Confident in one Subject. To give example Surgery posting in Internship is only 5 Weeks which is a short duration and no one will be confident in performing even a small surgery with this training. Now this is the reason that majority of Doctors want to study further hence can learn more but tragedy is the PG Seats are limited in our Country and Reservation makes it difficult for Talented Doctors to Get Residency. Other then that the training really differs from Institute to Institute. If You do MS from AIIMS. Delhi you will perhaps become much better surgeon then MS from a Peripheral College just because difference in Quality of Training. We need to check the Medical Education and try to make the Quality of Training equal irrespective of Institute. The Problem is not the Bonds. Everyone wants to have a Government Job, and if you are a fresh Graduate and get a Job straight without any struggle it’s good. The Problem is Even the Surgeons who are getting MS Degree are not confident enough and would like to work few years under guidance of their Senior to learn and become more Skilled. Other then that if someone wants to study further and become DM or Mch ( Super Specialist Doctor), The government should not stop them with Bonds but allow them to learn more so we can have more Competent DoctorsAt End Yesterday Night One of My seniors was doing a Plastic Surgery on Hand. He completed stitching the wound which was perfect. I asked him“ Bhaiya itna acha stitching sikhne ke liye aapko kitne saal lege”( How many years it took you to learn this sort of Perfect Stitching?)He said “ Ram ko kitne saal Banvas mila tha ?”( For how many Years Ram went to Exile ?)I said 14 Years and he said it takes that many years of Hard work and Dedication to get the perfect wound closure which will heal without any scars.Thank You

Why do people need to be signed into Quora to view answers? Why can't answers be openly viewed, like the way Wikipedia is presen
I don't work for Quora, but I suspect it is mostly for legal reasons. When you create an account you agree to use Quora according to their Terms of Service (of course, most users never read it, but that's another story). Quora has a lot of copyrighted content, some of which their users don't allow you to copy. It also creates a sense of a "wall" or "community." It is easy to access, but it is not "a search engine." The implied message is probably "If you care enough to read the content, you should join."Having a solid number of registered users probably makes it easier getting VC money. The founders came from facebook, so they probably followed facebook's registration model.Being a registered user you are also motivated now to write answers and contribute!

How did it feel when you went skydiving for the first time?
I'm glad I did it, but honestly? It was just okay -- not the thrill / rush I was hoping for.I did it "tandem;" you're strapped to an instructor, so you get a longer free fall (45 seconds vs. about 10) and less training. It's a win-win.I had to take a training class which is somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour. We aren't told a ton of useful stuff there because, after all, we have little to do but enjoy the ride (literally). We get in the plane and start ascending. The plane is extremely rickety. At this point, I recall that we were told "reassuringly" that flying in a plane is more dangerous than skydiving. I can't help but think that if this is the plane they were talking about, no wonder! It is finally time to jump out. Now that seems scary. One person after another jump out of the plane, and finally it's my turn.My instructor (who I am strapped to) and I shuffle up to the front of the plane, where the giant door looked out on to the open sky. Whenever I am ready, I can jump. What the heck? I jump. No reason to overthink this. I know that the longer you sit there and let yourself be scared, the more you'll be scared. And then I'm falling. Except that it doesn't feel like falling. It feels more like floating there in air with a ton of air blowing at your face. Those who remember their physics course will know that you can't really feel "falling." You can see the ground rushing towards you. You can feel air blowing past you. You can certainly know that you're falling to your death. But, once you signNow terminal velocity (which happens within 10 seconds), you can't really feel "falling." And, even before then, you can't really feel "falling;" you could only, at most, feel some mild acceleration. But back to my jumping out of a moving airplane. There is nothing really to give me that OH MY GOD I'M FALLING thrill. I'm so far above the ground that the ground isn't really rushing at me. The ground looks about as close from one second to the next.It doesn't feel like I'm falling. It feels like there's a ton of wind blowing at me and I'm just kind of there, chilling, watching the scenery.Hey, it's kind of nice up here. Loud, but peaceful in a way. 45 seconds pass, then it's time to open the parachute. HOLY !@#!@!!! That thing pulls hard on you. Really hard. (I later discovered I had bruises all over my shoulders.)But then, it's back to a nice, pleasant, parachute-ride down. I take some pictures. It's pretty. The landing is surprisingly soft. The instructor pulls up on the parachute just before landing, which helps to break the landing even more. His feet hit the ground first, then mine. And that is it. The ride is over.I'm glad I did it, so that I know what it's like. I'd do it again to see, just to see if I still have the same experience. Mostly though, it was a pretty forgettable experience. Bungee jumping was much more fun.

Does Rod Rosenstein deserve the treatment that he is getting from Trump Republicans?
It’s a very good question actually. Most importantly, I think it is important to discuss why they have put him up for impeachment. To start, I am conservative. I hope that this does not cloud this opinion too much, but I find it important to note when writing on partisan matters. It is very bad that he has not been transparent with congress and, therefore, the American people. Although I do not think that this is grounds for impeachment (he has not committed a crime) it is very unfair to a country which had been completely split because we do not know what is happening in our government. You either trust them or don’t, and even though there is no real reason to believe that the Trump administration has been compromised (which I still believe to hold true), it hasn’t been proven otherwise. Rosenstein is one of the top men to help set the country straight in terms of the Russia investigation. Until he does, it make republicans unfairly look bad, which is signifant because of the midterms. So it’s fair that they are upset. He hasnt set anything straight, and although impeachment is a step too far, hopefully it pressures him in the right direction.

What are common scams in India?
Common Scams in India:Scene 1: Aadhar mobile number update:Went to a private Aadhar e-seva kendra, filled form and was ready to submit. Assumed it’s going to be nominal charges for same. Lady said 300rs. I said bye bye.Went to e-seva kendra. This time all done. Lady asked for 50rs. I said I know its 25rs.She said “Sir we have to pay rent as well.”I said “As you are asking very less compared to others I will pay 50rs.”Felt bad about it later. Complained to UIDAI via twitter. Got reply that they will register an official complain and take necessary action. In addition to this its very common that these e-seva center charge anything between 100–300rs for new Aadhar registration(should be completely free) or update(nominal charge of 25rs). Saw it happening in one instance, raised my voice but no one supported. Seems everyone else was just wanted to get their work done and I was creating a nuisance.Scene 2: Mobile number portability:Went to Idea store. With commanding voice, I said “I am here for MNP”, as I was giving them a new customer. Got reply from lady “minimum recharge of 475rs will be needed for MNP”. I said “MNP charge is 19rs, what recharge I do after that is my choice”. But this lead to nothing. Left the store.Visited a local idea retailer. Inquired about MNP and he said 178rs minimum recharge. Didn’t want to argue again. Paid the money and left for home. Felt bad again, later complained to idea_cellular and TRAI via twitter. Still to receive a response.Even for mobile and Aadhar linking some retailers charge money, its supposed to be completely free.Scene 3: Flash Back - Last monthHad a bad mood and my train was about to leave. Thought some water could help. Went to stall and asked for two water bottles. Vendor asked for 40rs(20rs per bottle, MRP was 15rs). I became furious and scolded him left and right. Got my money back (10rs). Complained to local DRM via twitter. Got response that action will be taken and immediate fine of 500rs is charged to vendor. You see what I am trying to say, here in our country(not only our country) people always find a way to dig out money or more money by this means or another, many are aware of it but many just ignore it. I know I can’t be idealistic all the time but it disturbs me seeing people’s common lust for money around me.Call it a scam or whatever, but it’s part of our life, it’s more of a mindset and reflection of our ideologies. We might accept it, ignore it or fight against it.Sometimes it seems like endless cycle, because “We the people” always find innovative ways to scam each other.Take Care.PS. Purpose of this answer not to brag, but to make aware. What you do after that is up to you.****Made few corrections, Thanks for views, comments and upvotes, If this helps even 1% of who read, my effort was worth of something.********Corrected Aadhaar update charges as 25rs, uidai official twitter handle communicated 25+taxes hence the confusion. I would like to thank all who appreciated me in comments. Still you see I was not perfect during handling these situations, hoping to get better with that.********Update: Idea care responded, got call from manager of said idea store, he apologised and asked me to visit again. He said there are no charges for mnp and recharge is optional. I told him to mention this everytime time any customer comes for mnp rather then projecting a mandatory recharge. Also asked to make sure his team members follow that. I said I or any of my friends will be visiting store anytime and will complain again if same incident happens. Hope this is some kind of win.Got update regarding e-seva kendra complaint as well. “Fine is imposed and warning is issued.” Couldn't check personally but this is official reply.****

What is the legality behind the "Trespassers Will Be Shot" sign?
The legality is that there isn't any protected right to shoot trespassers unless you are a Federal cop on a Federal installation, and even then there are rules of engagement. That's for crossing your property lines. If someone breaks into your house, that's not trespassing, that's B & E. In most locations if you are inside the house, you have the right to protect yourself by the use of force, up to and including deadly force, against an intruder. Most locations—but not all. Some localities have ignorant laws requiring you to flee your own home instead of shooting the intruder. This is just about the stupidest law I can think of regarding self-defense, but it is on the books in many areas of the US. The best thing you can do is call your local authorities and be brought up to speed on your area's laws.Almost nowhere can you shoot a property boundary trespasser, even if he's cleaning out your barn with a U-Haul. The reasoning (sound reasoning, I might add) is that if you are inside the house, and someone is outside your house stealing your truck, you are typically in no imminent danger, thus shooting the bastard is assault, not self-defense. Now if he's shooting at your house, that's different. In most areas, you have no obligation to flee your home if you are being attacked within it, even if your attacker is outside, and have every right to shoot back. Just be sure to call 911 on your way to fetch your gun.You can put up the sign; I saw them all my childhood and teenage years, and I've even had a farmer unload some rock salt at me for boosting a watermelon from his patch 1/2-mile from his house. People think the signs are cutesie little decorations and get a good laugh from them, but the sign doesn't alter the legal reality. Shoot a property boundary trespasser, and you're both going to jail...and the charges against you will be the more serious. If he's not threatening you, you let him take the truck and call 911 first and your insurance man next.
