Really??) attracted neither the budget-friendly tourists in the hotels within walking distance nor the weekly convention center attendees.The suburbanites who could afford the prices at the kite store and who might have shopped refused to deal with the crime and parking issues downtown: do I pay $10 parking fees for a deck a 15 minute walk away, or spend half an hour or more circling the block looking for an available parking meter that needed fed every hour, and hope nobody breaks into the car while I’m shopping? Hmm, or, do I shop the upscale fashion mall in the west end with a free parking lot where I don’t get robbed, mugged, or raped on my way back to the car with my shopping bags? No brainer …. There’s some really cool places, and a mall with upscale restaurants, along the boardwalk and the beach, and a convention center, a concert venue and a water park with slides. It’s also $10 to park. I still sometimes get really nervous when I have to present and there's a few good ways to overcome the fear:- From my Qigong master I learned that your internal world can have great power in changing how you feel and your results. Based on this you should imagine very clearly and vividly that you are doing something that makes you feel fantastic. I like to imagine that I am scoring the winning goal in the world cup final (England vs Germany!) and the score is 3-3, rain is lashing down... etc etc. One of my friends likes to imagine that he is an Eagle and is swooping down over a river that is flowing down a mountain side. Find the right mental movie that generates the right results for you. - From NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) I learned "submodalities" which helps me to become aware of the energy that is my nervousness. By analysing it in terms of size, shape, movement, colour, temperature i find I have much greater control in changing the feeling. i normally feel "butterflies in my stomach" a hot, buzzing, energy swirling around my mid-section. By changing the location of the energy to my shoulders and moving it through my arms (a bit like Popeye does when he eats spinach!) I can make the energy actually build my strength, rather than shut me down. - Another simple technique you could use is to imagine the audience in a different way. Lots of people say "picture them naked" but that doesn't work for personally. If there's one person, perhaps your client, in the room who makes you particularly nervous you might imagine them wearing a big sombrero, shaking maracas and doing a very suggestive dance... whatever it takes to make you smile, which helps let go of the fear! (A nice visual example of this is in the Harry Potter movies when they have to face their greatest fears and use the "Ridicularum" spell - which puts roller skates on a particularly scary spider causing it to roll all over the place and everyone laughs)- The principle of "Acting as if" is also a personal favourite. Even though inside you may be dying, if you act as though you are the world's most confident person, with accompanying eye contact, body language, voice tone and facial expressions, after a very short time (if you keep it up) your feelings will shift.- Another way is to talk as though you are talking to your best friend at a favourite restaurant. To make this easier you might want to focus your attention on a couple of friendly and familiar faces in the audience. - Use EFT (emotional freedom technique) to let go of previous events where you became extremely nervous speaking in front of a group (especially when you were young). Many people have presentations anxiety because they were forced by well meaning parents or teachers when they were young - often being asked to stand up and read in front of their peers - when you stumble over your words and everyone laughs the emotion goes through the roof and appears in every similar event in future. There is a video here that you can use to try out the technique (not my video! - and yes its pretty weird at first!): - Get lots of practice delivering presentations in low pressure environments. The toastmasters organization is an excellent (and non-profit) starting place. Take a look at http://www.toastmasters.org to find a club close to you.- While this might sound strange you might also try thinking through the "worst case scenario" of messing up your presentation totally... losing your job because of messing up... you become homeless... you go to jail... when you take it to a crazy extreme it can help you put it in perspective as being really not that big a deal. - Go take a look at the stars... they have shone down on us for millennia and will continue shining down on us whether or not you screw up your presentation!

That is, if you’re just about rising and making money, then if you find yourself doing actual work, you know you’re going to lose.Google doesn’t really get rid of low performers, so if coasting results in little to nothing being done, you’ll probably have nothing to worry about. Recruiters value local education a lot, however, this can only be done after landing.
