hi guys it's Dana with Empower RV Brenda with Queen B RVs behind the cameras today we're bringing you another episode of 52 ways to empower women rvers and today we're going to be talking about air conditioners some super quick and easy tips that you need to keep in mind when you are having AC problems but first I wanted to give you a little tidbit that we are in Ryan Miller's rig and they are Millers in motion and they have been here at the National RV Training Academy we've been doing a solar install on his camper this last week and it's been fantastic but if you don't know about Miller's in motion follow them on their YouTube channel and watch what they're about anywho So today we're going to talk about ACS have you ever been traveling long destination you've been in the your tow vehicle all day you get to the campground and it is just blazing hot and the first thing you want to do is just to cool down that camper you come in here and you flip on that AC I'm going to give you a little secret if you have even if you have a ducted system you may have a shroud inside well this wouldn't be a shroud but you would have this interior part of the AC if you have one of these you likely have vents on either side or one large vent in the middle that you can open up that is actually called a dump feature and if you will utilize this dump feature on your AC inside your camper when you first arrive at the campground you're going to cool your AC you're going to cool your camper down a lot faster and the reason is this air is coming directly from the coils in the AC system on the roof it's going to be the coldest air you're going to drop it into the camper all is a big dump get that camper cooled down quickly otherwise you're sending that air through the ducted system and as it's going through the ducts it's warming up so once you get that temperature in the camper cool down you're going to go back close these dump features on your AC and now you're sending that cooled air through your ducted system and it'll keep your cool camper cool the traditional way so that's a great idea if you if you didn't know that use these dump features it's a great way to keep your camper cool now we're going to talk about a couple of best practices you want to make sure these return air vents this is the return air vent you want to make sure that those filters are always clean I probably clean mine once every camping event I have a little tiny camper but man those filters get clogged up especially if you have pets if you're in a real Dusty area...
