Offline eSigning and Kiosk Mode
As businesses of all types and sectors are increasingly on the go, there are two modes of eSigning which many entrepreneurs find especially useful and handy in their travels:
- Preparing and signing documents while being offline;
- eSigning with clients/partners in person (the so-called Kiosk Mode).
Offline eSigning on your mobile devices
Situations when you find yourself offline do not really require additional explanation:
You can be flying across the country (or half of the planet), spending endless hours on board;
You may be travelling deep into rural areas with no signal;
You may be vacationing or a faraway island, suddenly realizing you forgot to eSign that very final document in your office.
Offline mode in airSlate SignNow mobile apps (available for both iOS and Android) is very much similar to the offline mode in Google Documents. You won't be able to send out documents for eSigning or receive them eSigned, of course, as both these functions require Internet connection, but you can still continue working with your documents. Namely, YOU CAN:
- Access all your Documents and Templates, including those in team folders;
- Upload new documents to your account, using your camera (simply make a photo of the document you have at hand and continue editing it in airSlate SignNow);
- Add fields and text to any document/template you already have on your device;
- Add new pages to the already available documents;

Switching to Kiosk Mode is a one-click operation:
For security reasons, you will be asked to generate a four-digit pass code which is then entered twice - to launch and to exit the Kiosk Mode session. This is done to make sure no third party can intrude into the eSigning process (this can be especially useful for crowdy exhibitions and busy retail stores).
Optional instructions are provided on the screen in case the signer is not yet familiarized with the eSigning procedures.
eSigning in Kiosk Mode is really easy - the signer just needs to draw a signature with the finger.
If the signer makes a mistake, there is always an option to erase the fields and restart all over again.
Important note: Kiosk Mode works with templates only, not documents. This means you can use the same template multiple times with multiple signers during the same day, and you will get multiple signed copies. This is especially handy for:
- Application forms at job fairs
- In-store customer surveys
- On-site invoicing
