I am not seeing any evidence presented. Just conjecture.iOS apps are sandboxed. They are physically incapable of doing stuff outside their constraints. Apps which used undocumented APIs are rejected. Because the device can only install signed apps, (and not side load from any source) Apple's iOS model is demonstrably more secure than other platforms.

I don't use iOS but there's a thing.Apple certifies the apps that can be sold on App Store, while on Android you can find all sort of crap.Not surprisingly, most malware around is targeting Android devices right now, because that's where the money is.People can pay bills with a phone (if they're so out of their minds to do that), perform banking transactions (you can scan a check, send it to your bank and pay with it...).Why's that? Android devices aren't as hardened as computers do.As to macOS, most vulnerabilities are proofs of concept.There's no real viruses for Mac around, because infections can't work the same way.It's mostly adware/spyware/Trojans/worms, which have been using vulnerabilities hidden mostly in Java and Flash.You don't enable Java (I haven't done it in years) and that stuff can't be executed.Then UNIX/Linux systems are HIERARCHICAL.If you don't have permissions to a file, you can pretty much shoot yourself: you're not gonna access it.You don't click Continue such as in Windows, you need to enter an administrative password (and also a username, if you're on a limited account).What's more, Apple has introduced System Integrity Protection so no one, even having root privileges, can now tamper with macOS system files anymore.Thanks for the A2A, but I'm not very interested in these philosophical dissertations.Use what you think can be most suitable for you.As to myself, I stick with UNIX/Linux and I'm very happy this way.

Then you get fifty dollars worth of Google Voice international calling credit, two t-shirts, and a lifetime subscription to Google Shopping Express.Ok, I’m kidding about all of that. (I know, I wish it was true.) Here’s what really happens:(1) If you haven’t picked a team yet, you’ll get to pick one. In general you want to pick a team that matches your career goals and, ideally, is something you’re personally very excited about. Your recruiter will typically set you up with multiple calls with different teams. A tip the recruiters probably don’t want me to tell you: If you really, really don’t like any of the teams you talked to…ask them to let you talk to another one. It’s important you pick a team you’re happy with.(2) After you establish your start date, you’ll have to do some paperwork. I don’t remember much about the paperwork when I joined Google because my brain was exploding in happy thoughts about “OMG I JUST GOT A JOB AT GOOGLE HOW DID THIS HAPPEN I DON’T EVEN” so, frankly, I’m pretty useless at filling in this detail. Talk to your friendly staffing folks.(3) If you’re joining as a Software Engineer like I did, one important step to think about is when you’re asked what kind of computer and laptop you want. If (and only if) you’re going to be writing iOS apps as your primary job, get a Mac desktop. Otherwise, get a Linux desktop. Definitely do not do what I did and get a Windows desktop, because at Google we actually do development directly on our workstations and you can’t do that on Windows, so you’ll feel silly (or at least, I did.) However, if you like having the experience of installing Ubuntu on your Google workstation in front of your coworkers during your first week of work, feel free to pick Windows. The laptop you choose is less important; go with whatever you like best for on-the-go.(4) You may feel like you should be reading up and learning stuff so you’ll be prepared for your first week at work. Don’t bother — Google’s internal tech stack has a bunch of unique and new things you can’t learn from the outside. Expect your first few months to be a blur of new information. Take the time before you start to get better at Overwatch, enjoy a favorite hobby, or spend time with your family. Actually, you can keep doing that after you start, too — work/life balance at Google is usually pretty good.(5) VERY IMPORTANT: At some point you are supposed to go to work at Google. Why would Mac safe boot mode be slower than standard booting?
In the normal process of booting the first time Mac OS X (or macOS, now) or iOS first boots, the boot loader loads the kernel, and then it loads a number of KEXTs.These KEXTs are a set of kernel extensions, consisting primarily of drivers and other code that implements IOKit classes and extensions to the kernel, including the extensions used for code signing, the DontStealMacOS KEXT which verify the platform it is running on is a “Genuine Macintosh” (Apple manufactured hardware), and so forth.As part of this initial boot process, an image is created of the kernel with all of the extensions which probe true as being present, and all of the extensions which probe false as not being present.For example, since the same kernel can run on different Apple platforms with different sets of drivers for different hardware.It hardly makes senses to load a UHCI or EHCI driver for USB, if the hardware only supports the one advanced XHCI; likewise it makes no sense to load the nVidia driver for a particular MacBook Pro, if the current hardware does not have that chip in it because it’s a MacBook Air.Another component is the direct motherboard support for CPU stepping, RAM clock speeds supported, support chipset (Haswell, etc.), and so on; that particular code lives in the PE or PlatformExpert, which is unique for each Apple computer hardware platform SKU.So in the end, there are a lot of optional components which are loaded, but a heck of a lot more which are not loaded.But it has to try each one to see if it fits.After everything is set up, one of the first things that happens after boot is that a post-linked version of the kernel with all of the KEXTs that are loaded for that platform is created.This is known as the “kextcache” — which is the named the same as the program which runs in order to generate the image.After that, the computer, when it boots, loads the kextcache directly, and boots fantastically fast (actually, it could be done faster by sorting image pages in the order they will be demanded, and just immediately start running the code; kextcache does not do this).When you boot in “Safe Mode”, what happens is that optional (not strictly necessary, and not third party) drivers are not loaded — but it skips the kextcache — which it fears might be corrupt, because you are booting in “Safe Mode” for a reason.So it has to go and load mach_kernel, and then it has to load the potentially required KEXTs.Which means that it has to go through all the steps again, which is substantially slower than loading the kextcache.People generally don’t notice this on first boot, because while the system is booting the first time, it does the “Happy First Time Boot Greeting Dance™”, which is distracting enough that the boot time delay is hidden from observation by the user.As a practical matter, some of the work is done at the factory during boot finalization as part of burn-in, but there is usually a late-binding install so that new Apple Computers come with the most recent version of the OS (in which case, when the user boots it, it will do the kextcache creation).For iOS and other devices which are not Mac OS X/macOS, the kextcache is pre-generated, and included as part of the system image (“No User Serviceable Parts Inside™”), since the hardware configuration will not change, and the factor isn’t going to do a late-binding install of the new OS.For these devices, it’s also customary to disable certain kernel interfaces which are used to load or unload modules, link modules against the kernel, and so on, to prevent them being easily hacked.Note that since the internal and exposed APIs are the same, it’s possible to hack the sysent[] table on an iOS device as part of jailbreaking to reenable them, if you a very experienced kernel developer, and you have access to a kernel memory exploit which does not involve accessing the first Mach Port for the kernel virtual address space.In any event, the very short answer is:When you boot in “Safe Mode”, it loads the kernel components individually, and test-loads a lot of unnecessary components for your particular platform and subsequently unloads them, instead of using the pre-optimized kextcache image.

How is iOS more secure than any other OS?
It’s not. IOS is a form of Unix. Very heavily based on BSD. It is as secure generally as any other *nix variant. There are some special aspects custom written for the platform and platform specific security concerns, other than that it’s as secure as *nix.As for why *nix is exponentially more secure than Windows. That starts with the fact Unix was designed with security as a high priority from day one. Windows adds security in as an afterthought. As such Unix has much better memory segregation, segregates tasks by users, most of whom have no local login privileges, far better logging, transparency by being open source that helps catch security flaws because millions pour over the code rather than a small team as happens with Windows. Unix has been in use long before Windows existed and already survived the first few waves of hackers and learned from these experiences.*nix doesn’t have any reasons to hide security problems. Microsoft is a for profit business and security vulnerabilities are a threat to it’s profitability. As such Microsoft often hides security vulnerabilities. Often refusing to admit they exist until a patch is developed, on a few occasions this has been years after exploits against that vulnerability have circulated in the wild.Unix was designed for and built for a multi-user multi-tasking environments. Windows was designed for single tasking on a stand alone machine. Multi-tasking and networking were grafted on later. This makes it more difficult to design security since the operating system simply was not designed for the environment it is operating in. So on a Windows machine you have to be admin for it to really be a functional machine. In *nix it’s unwise and problematic to be admin (root) while working as a user. As such viruses as seen in Windows are nearly impossible to write as the level where a virus would attack (user) does not have rights to make the system changes necessary to propagate the virus or do serious damage to the OS.Nix has worms like Windows but not viruses. All viruses to date that work on Nix either target OS independent software such as Open Office or are boot sector viruses which load BEFORE the OS does.Microsoft places back doors in it’s software to spy on customers and at the requests of various national governments. Hackers can sometimes find and exploit these back doors. Unix has no such built intentional vulnerabilities. An example was Microsoft’s compliance with the Clinton administration requiring an encryption back door for the US government. Another example was the Win 95 update which not only reported back to Microsoft everything you had installed on your machine but also fell prey to an exploit. Another example was the auto update exploits which took advantage of Microsoft backdoors and merely by pretending to be Microsoft mirrors was able to plant trojan software.Microsoft also considers it’s users imbeciles not to be trusted with control over their machines. This level of automation creates vulnerabilities. For example many trojans and viruses are spread through advertisements on web sites. They auto run and auto install without even a notification to the user. In *nix they’d require permission and a password. Though IOS has made the same mistake as Microsoft in some aspects of this, thus making it more vulnerable than other forms of Unix.
