Let me tell you what I did to get 100,000 downloads for my first app without any marketing budget,within 99 days.It was my first app and since   I was just a   student ,that means I  didn't had any money to advertise.However I managed 150$.1.   The selling point for my app was the UI/UX. And for me the presentation was everything. I knew I was short on budget,and I wanted to convert every  click into a download (i mean there is a high probability that if a person clicks on the link,he may not download it because of poor screenshots)So good,professional looking screenshots were Page on important.so for that I needed a photoshop professional(although I designed the app myself,I wasn't very good at photoshop) so I hired a guy from freelancing websites.I paid the guy 50$ for 5 screenshotsgood iconI then hired a guy for the video.Now if you don't know how most of the videos are made,you may end up paying 150-400$there are websites  from where you can buy templates for virtually everything.So we purchased a 25$ template,hired a guy for 40$ to do the changes to it.So the whole video was done for 65$2   I  got fake facebook likes(40,000 likes for 40$ people are real but they don't come to know when they liked the page,there are scripts for fake facebook likes) as we thought it can be used as an audience,but turns out it was a waste,as facebook has changed it algorithms,and a post's visibility only increases if it gets enough momentum(i.e comments and likes).And it is quite obvious that no one would be interested in  a post from a page which they never liked themselves.The post never signNowed 40,000 people which was our intended target.     3.  I got the description done,ourselves.There are websites for SEO (or ASO ,app search optimization)like sensor tower which can be used for figuring out which keyword to use.4.  Added 1000+ friends on facebook from my college before the launch5.  I launched the app.6.  I gave credit to those people on how they were so supportive and accepted our random friend requests and then sneaked in the download link with  very pretty images.People like to take credits for no reason ,just like they want to feel good and superior and want to be  a part of something, without any reason,I just exploited it.7.  The early downloads and reviews were quite important8.  They reviewed and downloaded.About 200-300 of them.9.  Just after I launched it,I changed my schedule and started sleeping 9 hrs in 2 days .i.e 4.5 hrs a day,with 3 hrs of sleeping shifts. i searched for lists of websites which review android apps.Sent them a copy pasted message and often making intentional mistakes while typing the subject  like "Android 'ApP' Review",to get their attention as you are not the only one sending them emails. we tried to make it look as professional as we  could.But  tried to keep the message friendly.I posted them 100 each day.10. Spamming on facebook groups.The post here doesn't have to be professional and the screenshots should not look professional,if they are ,(these screenshots were differnt from the ones one the app page)  you will give an impression that your app comes from a company and it won't appear as a personal request but like an advertisement which you don't want.I posted them 100 each day11. Sending messages to youtubers to review it and then posting on their new videos ,asking people to try it and asking the channel owner to review it.I posted them 100 each day or maybe more.12. Posting  on reddit,forums, qoura etc.13. reviews from feverr.14. backlinks.15. update regularly.    We  did this for 20 days. The rest of the downloads were all organic(means they were due to people searching for a music player etc,rather than clicking somewhere)13. Now the app is  getting 2000+ downloads per day on average (for the last 20 days).All of them are organic.As of now,(i.e 14th october,the app stands at 95,000 downloadsCurrenlty when you search for a  "music player" our app ranks at the number 20.And it is the only app within the top 20 with a range of 50,000-100,000 range.All other apps have atleast 1/2 million downloads.With the maximum at 500 million.P.S if you want to have a look at the app,send me a message or write a comment :)

He is super crazy! I will tell you why:-We belong to a middle-class family. My father is a businessman. It happened some times that he went through severe financial crisis, but he never let us realise! In that time also, I got whatever I asked for.He is a very very optimistic person. He came from a truly messed up household that decided eating was an optional activity.I set about nursing him back to healthy with the help of some folks at NYU to take that dog that the veterinarian I took the dog to for an intake exam told me wouldn’t live more than 10 days. Five years later he was still with us so I guess I succeeded in nursing him back from the brink.I watched with satisfaction as he went from what you see above to being fat and sassy over a period of weeks. Sassy being the operative word as I discovered that if he could speak in human language all that would come out of his mouth were curse words.I wanted to rename him “Gunny” but my wife wouldn’t let me.As he spent more time with us his growling turned into what us veterans call “sentence enhancers.” He’d growl when he was happy, sad, mad, glad, … whatever.From being adversaries he and I became buddies. At night when I was watching TV he’d jump up on the sofa next to me with a growl. He’d place himself against me with a growl. He’d lay down with a growl. He’d put his head in my lap with a growl. As he’d settle in he’d look up at me and growl one more time.He was my little buddy.The sad ending to the tale came after about five years of him living with us and I let the pack outside for their nighttime potty break before bed. It was January 1968, we were living in Johannesburg, South Africa; we did not have a phone (SA did not have TV and my father preferred silence to radio).We had a strange life really - my father had a very young girlfriend (technically his mistress, since he was still married to my mother who was in England with my brother and sister). B. was only just 18 at this time, but had borne my father two children - the oldest (W. at two and a half) was autistic, the second (L. at six months) had cerebral palsy. She suffered terribly from depression - although this seems not to have been recognised - and she spent a lot of time in a lunatic asylum (SA was not particularly PC in those days), so it had fallen on me to care for my little half-siblings and, with the help of Dr Spock’s book on childcare, I had done so since before I had turned eleven. I was by this time just twelve and had finished my first week at high school. I knew no-one since I was living at my fourth address in three years, and was seriously isolated in a culture I did not really understand (my father and I had emigrated to South Africa from England in December 1964).It was 2.30 p.m. Monday. She nodded at me, turned round to the woman and said “Not him. Just the two babies.” And W. & L. were taken away. She then turned to me and said, “Well we don’t want those brats, do we?” I did - in all but biology, they were my children, and I loved them. They never went hungry in my care (although I often did), they were clean and their clothes were all washed by my hand (as were mine); I tried to pay them as much attention as I could and W. was slowly learning to speak, despite her autism.I eventually started to attend school again, but Grandma refused to allow me to visit my father in hospital - she of course had visited him first when she arrived in SA and had been in the country two days before coming to see her grandson and granddaughters. But school was difficult, there was no way I could catch up the six or so weeks I had missed, and my father was still in a coma. His car crash should have killed him immediately as he was thrown head first through the windscreen/ windshield - had he survived he would have been in a vegetative state, so it was best that he died. There are two main reasons: Apathy and History.ApathyI am sorry to say that Telugus just don’t care too much about issues if they do not impact their bottom line in terms of economics and finances. We are one of the least chauvinistic people when it comes to language, and will be accommodating to other cultures so long as Telugu is accorded respect. There is also a level of a self-imposed complex because Telugus, generally, find it more upscale and “cool” to speak English or Telugu heavily laced with English. There is a saying I have heard of recently that applies to modern Telugus: “When two Telugu people meet, they speak in English.” I would say this is true to an extent; at the least, they will use Telugu heavily laced with English.Telugus do have pride that our language was questioned by Rabindranath Tagore; he asked if Telugu was a language or music because it is very sweet to the tongue and ear. If push comes to shove and we feel our language is being threatened, we will pushback. But overall, we do not place a higher emphasis on language assertion because the vast majority of Telugus, in all castes and of all status, believe that being flexible and accommodating has its benefits. We do have people, such as myself, who are vigilant about Telugu’s status or the government’s actions involving language policy; however even we are not at as active nor as protective anywhere near the levels that Tamils, Kannadigas, and Bengalis are about their language.I think to summarize what I have said, I asked my wife why Telugus are more easy-going about this issue: She opined that for “Telugu walla ki Bhasha abhimanam, vividha rashtra walla ki Bhasha ahankaram.” (Telugu people have pride in their language, while people of other states are arrogant about their language). [Note: She used the people of other states in the context of linguistic chauvinists. She was not implying that the majority of people in one state or region are like that.]I want to make two points from this statement. First, there are many Telugus who will agree with what she said. Second, the words she used in her sentence leads me to my next point.History:If you notice my wife’s response, many people versed in other Indian languages will pick up on some words. Unknowingly and without intent, my wife gave me a response in Telugu with almost ALL the words derived from Sanskrit or Prakrit. The very word Telugu is believed to be derived from a Sanskrit word, Trilinga. This leads me to the point about history.Telugu has been influenced since 2,500 years or so, since the Assaka Vedic Mahajanapada, from Sanskrit and Prakrit. The Telugu lands have been constantly ruled by rulers who solely patronized other languages, like Sanskrit, Odia, Prakrit, Kannada, Tamil, and Urdu.” Even the Telugu rulers who patronized Telugu did it in conjunction with Sanskrit or Prakrit. Even during the Rashtrakuta rule (Kannada) and the Chola rule (Tamil) of Telugu regions, Sanskrit was patronized by the rulers.The major point I am getting across is that Telugu has been shaped by many languages, especially Sanskrit, Prakrit, and during the Muslim rule, Urdu. So linguistic chauvinism, on either side of the debate, does not resonate with the vast majority of Telugu people and hasn’t for millenniums. Now I am sure someone will comment that Kannada is also similarly shaped by other languages, so why have they been louder about this issue?Like Telugus, Kannadigas have been accommodating to other cultures. However, that accommodation has led to several noticeable incidents including the metro signs issue, government workers who demand that Kannadigas speak to them in Hindi, despite the government workers working in Karnataka, and even certain banks not having forms in Kannada.Who would not be mad at that? I would love to see the reaction of some people condoning what happened in Karnataka when, hypothetically, Delhi government workers demand locals to speak to them in Bengali or when Delhi banks only have forms in Tamil and English.Thankfully, Telugus have, to a vast extent, been spared from these situations in Karnataka; perhaps due to our large population. There have been some instances where this has happened, but the issues have been dealt with minimal fuss and with speed. The Telugus, with our pride in our language, have set a national example, in my view. Accommodate, learn, and respect as many languages as feasible, while standing against linguistic chauvinism on both sides of the issue and imposition of one language over Telugu. We do not hate people from other regions or our neighboring states. We are and will always be proud to be the people that gave India her national flag. We are proud Indians and Telugus.P.S: While we are flexible and accommodating, we strongly request and recommend that non-Telugus moving to our states learn Telugu. We do or try to do the same when we move to other states. For instance, my son and daughter-in-law, both Telugus who now live in Bengaluru, learned Kannada when they moved from Hyderabad about 6 years ago. Hindi is also taught in both AP and Telangana schools with no fusses. So, reciprocate that.As my wife said, don't have ahankara (arrogance) in believing your language is better than another. Learn and respect the language of the locals. Do not give excuses like “it's too hard to learn” or “my language should be the nation's lingua franca, so why should I bother to learn another.” We do not wish for cities to turn into Mumbai, in regards to language, where a beautiful language of the Deccan, Marathi, has been almost completely sidelined. If you are just visiting, pick up on some basic phrases so that you can ask for help, especially if you are planning to go outside of urban centers.Treat every language with respect and don’t be arrogant (applies to chauvinists on all sides) that your language is more to superior to another. A language is a tool of communication - the more tools that are available for the public, the better for everyone. So, learn the local language as well, and Hindi is also a useful language to learn. Let’s preserve India’s language diversity.
