Did you get placed on a campus? How was your experience?
It was the year 2015 and I just started with my 7th semester of Engineering. As you know that placement season starts around August-September, I was nervous and perplexed whether to sit for software companies or not (since I was from ECE and didn’t code in my life).Attempt 1 : TCSI was least excited for this since TCS was the first company that comes in the placement season, offering the lowest package and being a mass recruiter, I did not want to sit for it. However, thanks to the stringent placement cell rules, it was mandatory to sit for it otherwise we won’t be allowed to appear for other companies.Interviewer : So what is your interest area?Me : Definitely not IT!Result : RejectedLeft college that day with a smile on my face. Mission accomplished, now I can sit for other companies/profile.Appeared for a few software companies anyway and could not clear written tests of any!Attempt 2 : Ernst & Young (EY)I was super-confident for this since I was involved in college societies from the first year itself and had a good command over GDs, Behavioural Interviews etc. Even my batchmates were like “bhai tera to pkka h isme” (bro, you have a sure shot at this). It was also my dream company at time since EY is a big brand and EY brand can take you places!Day of GD: moderator announces the topic and no one took initiative to start the discussion. I started off and discussion went great.Result : RejectedBatchmates : *smirked*Me : depressed af!After the EY debacle, I stopped appearing for companies I didn’t want to work for.On the day of EY rejection, I came to know that I cleared the written test of ZS Associates (management consulting firm). I only heard about this firm from a few seniors and was skeptical about it.Attempt 3 : ZS AssociatesRound 1 : Aptitude test - clearedRound 2 : Business Case InterviewI was least aware of what a business case interview is (being an Engineer!) and didn’t know how to proceed with my preparation.Since I was unplaced and depressed, I thought that this is the last option for me on campus since placement season was about to get over.I gave my everything preparing for it, YouTube videos, Case interview books, case studies from HBS, cases from Mckinsey, you name it!The interview went for ~50 minutes and I felt that it went well!Round 3 : Puzzles & GuessestimatesRound 4 : Partner RoundThis was a 1–1 fit round with a Principal (top most designation) of Delhi office. I was scared as hell since even the HR wished me luck before pointing me out to his cabin.I could not judge how the interview went since the Partner didn’t show any emotions whatsoever on his face.We were asked to leave for the day without any result and were informed that results will be announced after 3–4 days. Then comes the interesting part -I went to college the next day and my friends (the wolfpack) called me in the ground to do some bakchodi as usual! We were around 10 people sitting in circle in the college ground and I receive a call from unknown number on my phone. I picked it up and the caller said “Hi Shivam, I’m calling from ZS Associates and want to inform you that you’ve been selected!”. I was on cloud 9 at that moment and went to my wolfpack and shaked everyone’s hand. As per the “tradition”, my friends lifted and dropped me on the ground celebrating this. I was elated and was about to call my mom to inform her.My friend came and snatched my phone. I saw smile on everyone’s face. I realised that my friends pulled a prank on me. They asked one of the junior to act as HR and call me to inform that I’ve been selected. They also made sure that I didn’t have that Junior’s number :-/I was shattered! It was a good prank I admit it but the pressure of placements takes a toll on you. I laughed and thought “what will I do if NOW I don’t get selected”!!!!!!!!!!Later that day, received a mail from placement cell.Result : SELECTED !!!!Finally informed my parents and that was probably the happiest moment for me, it was not because I got placed, but because of that look on my Parent’s face. That look said it all!!I still feel proud looking at the below picture from 2016.I know it is not Google or Facebook but your first placement is always special :)Edit 1 : Thanks a lot for the upvotes !!!!

What are some things that make you sad?
The kind of people you see on QuoraThe Bounty HuntersThese are the ones who are here for the bloodbath. They consistently pursue upvotes and views and are willing to go to any length to write the phrases like ‘Thank you for 1k, 5k, 10k+ upvotes’ , ‘Edit 1- Thank You; Edit 2- Thank You for the praise; Edit 3- Thank You for the praise and love’ etc. They tend to lure you in with a provocative picture to skew your interest and like the gentle sheep we are, we follow the herd and hit the upvote. If this answer gets 1k, 5k, 10k+ upvotes, you know what happened.2. The Game of Thrones FanaticsYes, we get it. It is a great show based on phenomenal novels. I watch it too. SO DOES THOUSANDS OF OTHERS WHO DON’T BRAG ABOUT WATCHING IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA. Imagine this:You have mounted piles of work everywhere around you at the office so that you can keep your mind off the fact that the GoT finale has already aired in the US. Now, you just wanna go back to your home, grab your pizza, crash down on your couch to begin watching the show. But wait, earlier when you tried surfing Quora a moron asked, ‘Why did Tommen jump to his death? Why did Cercei blow up the Sept? Why is Jon declared King in the North? Why is Sansa not declared Queen in the North?’Enough already. To whomsoever who spoiled Ramsey Bolton’s death to me in Ep. 9, I wish I will be the one to spoil Tyrion’s death to you, whenever it comes to that.3. The Live CommentatorsThese are the ones who generally go with the question of- ‘What do XYZ think about the recent developments with ABC?’Their motto is simple. Get the first mover advantage and garner as much upvotes and views as possible, while the topic is still trending.4. The ones who write their CV’s on profile biosNo offence to the professors and entrepreneurs who are genuinely imparting knowledge. They deserve it.But it doesn’t make any sense when your profile bio reads- ’20 years experience in Investment banking and asset management, VC at BlaBla Ventures, Co-founder of ‘ApatheticStartupWhichIsDestinedToGoNowhereButIClaimItWillMakeTheWorldABetterPlace’ when you are writing answer to- Why does my cat smell its own excreta?5. The Hot MessThey are the ones with an obviously high number of followers. They are the supreme feminists, fashion bloggers and globe trotters. They are the masters when imparting dating and relationship advice and are the highest authority when it comes to sophistication and class. They have travelled the entire world, except the “third world”. They don’t miss out any opportunity to attach an ‘obligatory duck face picture of themselves with a Chanel clutch in one hand and a Starbucks cup in the other’ along with their answers.6. The Engineers and MBA’sThey are likely to begin their answers with- ‘During the second year, in my ‘PrestigiousPretentiousCollege, when my best friend was studying in ‘LessPrestigiousCollege’, and I was dating ‘TheHotMessWhoActuallyDidn’tGiveCrapAboutMe’. They are the ones who have had every single goddamn experience in their colleges, have gone through a minimum of five break-ups and they answer to no one but the Lord of Beer.7) The pesky ones who ask questions to glorify their brethrenTheir questions begin with 'Why does the people of my country, community, region or religion do something in a particular fashion?' and they inadvertently imply why their brethren is better than the rest. They flood Quora with similar questions again and again, and sleep at night with satisfaction in their hearts that they managed to do some good for humanity.8) The pesky ones who ask questions to see their brethren fallTheir questions begin with 'Why are the people of my country, community, region or religion not as good as the others?' and directly imply that they would rather leave their brethren behind in search for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.9) The silent browsersThey are the ones whose questions begin with '?', wait they don't ask questions. They browse through their feed everyday, they know what's happening on Quora, they know who deserves up votes and who deserves to be ignored. They consume all the knowledge that is available on Quora but rarely contribute. They are the silent guardians, the watchful protector, the shadow in the night, but no one knows who they are.10) The real heroesThey are the ones with facts. They are the epitome of an ideal Quoran. They are never short of facts, they know which questions to ignore and which ones to write an answer to. They never fail to contribute knowledge to this community and are the pillars behind the very ideology of Quora. Though they may not get the views and up votes because the popular opinion resides with the 'Hot Mess', but they are the real heroes here. This makes me sad.

How was your first day of classes in BITS?
***Long post alert***It was probably the first time I managed to wake up that early during my entire first-year.I woke up at 5:30 AM to an empty corridor filled with nothing but utter silence. The Sun was up, and I of all the people, decided to take a stroll within my hostel (umm…yes -_-). I did that while my mind kept me reminding of my home. Yes, I was pretty homesick back then and wanted to rush to my parents who were staying in a hotel.I was nervous for the first day, but somehow I managed to get done with my chores and got ready at 7 AM sharp.Time for breakfast.During the breakfast, I sat alone, of course, and somehow managed to eat half of those under-cooked paranthas and head to the classroom. It took me a while to find the correct place, but man, I was dumbstruck when I first entered the hall! It was HUGE, yet completely filled with absolutely no empty spots visible. Somehow, I managed to squeeze in between and the lecture started. It was a biology lecture (ironic given that I’m majoring in Chemical Engineering) which seemed pretty boring at the first site and continued that way till the very end. Eh, who cares? (The class went exactly the same way on the last day too)Maybe I dozed off a bit even amidst that cramped situation and the next thing I knew, I was struggling to locate my engineering graphics lab. I was late by at least 15 minutes. But hey, it was the first class, who cares any way? Nothing much happened there either. We just dabbled with some commands in AutoCad (which eventually would become my biggest nightmare!) and I guess that’s it.After that, I was free for 2 hours before I had this little something called - Technical Report Writing (known as “TRW’ in Hyderabad and “TechRe” in Goa and Pilani). I skipped the lunch that day - partially because the food seemed inedible, and partially because my social anxiety does weird things to my gut. I attended the class for the first time with really high hopes and came out with a hung head swearing to never attend it again- a swear which I duly followed my entire first-semester. In short, it was DULL, period.I headed to my room, changed up, and did some contemplation over the small talks I managed to initiate today; and how all of them ended up in utter failure. Heck, I don’t even remember the name of the person I was talking to. How will I ever fit in here?It was 3:40 PM when I snapped out of my contemplation and headed to my Thermodynamics lecture. It was the same lecture hall from morning where I had my Bio, but not cramped up to that extent. Guess a few BITSians went lite from the day-1 itself.Anyways, the lecture started, and to my surprise, I really liked it. The professor was really nice and kept the lecture engaging even though it was just the first one!Bell went off after an hour and that was it.My first day of classes ended at BITS with absolutely nothing to be termed as happening in particular, yet I remember every bit of it :)Hope you liked it!

What are those body languages mistakes that one could make during presentation?
Well… everyone seems to be promoting some school of though or belief or copy pasting random material on body language from somewhere on the web… #sighSo, I’ll simply just share my own observations and experience of having listened to and given feedback to 1000s of speakers/presenters over the last 10+ years….‘BODY LANGUAGE’ mistakes that you could possibly make during your presentation: (So this means, DO NOT do them….)1- Not being comfortable with your dress/clothes - Too formal, tie itching, pants itching, skirt too short, wearing formals for the first time, is my zipper closed, OMG are the buttons on my top closed, is the jacket too fluffy…. It is a mistake if you’re not comfortable with what you’re wearing. See the occasion, choose something that suits the occasion, and be comfortable in wearing that dress.2- Looking at the slide, talking to the slide while making a point - basically OR reading off from the ppt - WHY? OH GAWDDD WHY??Ppt is JUST A TOOL, YOU ARE THE MESSAGE and its presenter. Look at it if you have to, DO NOT READ verbatim, because your audience can read it too… either let them read all your slides and you don’t speak up… or you speak, and let the slide be there ONLY as a reminder of key points.3- Too much hair straightening or pushing it back (applies to both men and women) - Don’t. Just don’t. It’s viewed mostly as a sign of nervousness. Too long hair! Well ruddy tie them up — pony tail, rubber band, hair band, clips, make a plait, beads, Jeez get them in control! Also it distracts your audience.4- Scratching/Itching - Just don’t. People can see. Do you want them to publicly provide you with itch guard or talcom powder? #facepalmInstead carry a handkerchief. Use it.5- Tapping/Clicking/Knocking/Shaking leg - a) It’s an irritating habit. (b) it show’s that you’re OBVIOUSLY nervous or not-interested in your presentation. This is a very horrible habit to get rid off. But trust me, it’s doable. I did. Took me almost 2.5 years to get satisfactory results on myself.6- Controlling the laser pointer and not knowing where the heck it is - so you shake it wiggle it - Well you’re not doing stand up comedy at a professional setting are you? Yes? Then can you please practice hand-eye-coordination, I know you played far too many video games as a child, so this shouldn’t be difficult… you just imagine the red dot of death or the green dot of pointyness exact being where you want it… practice a bit, you’ll figure it out..Hmm… I guess that’s all.Look at that, you’ve just been coached! by Coach HarshDo suggest edits/feedback/ points to include? :)

What is it like to meet with Dhiraj Rajaram to discuss about your start-up or having him as an investor?
I met with Mr. Dhiraj Rajaram on 1st January,2016 to discuss about our start-up with him and to figure out if it made any sense to work with him as one of our customers. I vividly remember how the whole thing started with merely an email addressed to him introducing my team and myself and guess what, he responded to my email in less than 10 minutes of receipt . It was more than surprising to me that he responded so quickly given the fact that I never knew him before nor was my start-up so well-known at that time as it was still under the wraps. The meeting got scheduled at 8 a.m. on 1st January,2016.My team and myself were completely overwhelmed with the way we were greeted by him and his personal assistant. On prima facie, he never looked like a person who has an obsession with power and position .Instead ,he seemed like a very normal ,submissive and down to earth kind of guy but then this one hour meeting with him changed my whole opinion about him. It started at sharp 8 a.m. in the morning and we started our conversation with him by introducing ourselves following which we thought to walk him through presentation on what we do and how can it be of help to his organisation.Just when we were about to start the presentation, he intercepted us and said “ Look, I am not a ppt. person and given the fact that my attention span is so less, why not you just come straight to what you have to say?” . Ok, we said and briefed him about our product in a line or two and before we could even complete the introduction of our product and services, he interrupted us again and said that he is overwhelmed with the thought process that has gone behind our business and wants to be one among our co-founders. Believe me, we were all taken aback with what he said because in first place, he did not even listen to us properly and also, the fact that he did not know any of us and still wanted to be a part of the co-founding team was completely incredible.Trying not to offensive, we told him to give us some time so that we can discuss among other team members in case they have any problem to it to which he agreed quite reluctantly. This whole meeting went like a dream because intent was to either get him as an investor or as a customer and he was trying to digress from both of these and all the time emphasizing on how his name and his contacts can take our start up to altogether a different level.I am not denying that he does not have a brand name and getting associated with him would not have added a value to our start-up but none of us would have liked to do that at the cost of losing a leeway of doing things our own way than having him as one of the members of co-founding team. Even while we were trying to explain the product to him, he was more interested in pointing out the flaws in the product than listening to what it is all about. His remarks did leave each one of us exasperated but then he concluded the meeting saying, ”Here is a deal, make me one of co-founders and take the contract for entire Mu-Sigma, get MSA signed by me along with cheque today only or try with just one team comprising of 500 people on condition that Mu-Sigma will do analytics for your start-up”.No doubt, he is a smart guy and the meeting with him grabbed everyone’s attention to such an extent that at one point, we all forgot the actual intent behind the meeting but then what kind of start-up would like to have such an arrogant person as a part of its co-founding team. It has been 6 months since we met him and we never got in touch with him again nor did we sign up contract /MSA with his company because we all thought that his habit of getting quick results may earn a bad name for our start-up ,which at that point of time, had to still go through POC stage. In retrospect, I think this is the best decision that we, as a team ,made for our start-up. After that meeting, I was more than convinced about two things-he has hell lot of brains but then he is lot more arrogant and it is advisable for any start-up to have less brainy yet humble people for it to be sustainable.Today, our start up has customers like Affine Analytics, Talisma, Meritor etc in less than a year of starting up and the list is getting bigger day by day. It is doing great than it would have otherwise done had it got associated with Dhiraj.

Why do we have speed breakers on roads in India?
Speed Breaker is not the solution of any problem rather its creating many prominent problems. On every speed breaker every vehicle has to stop which is increasing fuel consumption. Its even can not be calculated how much extra fuel we are wasting due speed breakers. In rural India where you will not see even single sign board for beaker takes, speed beakers are taking more lives than you are saving by putting speed breakers. You will see my vehicle breakdowns on speed breakers only. Forget about height to length ratio of speak beaker, People build so big speed breakers that every vehicle passing over it touches the vehicle. In rush hours that breaker is even source of entertainment of the people. You can not calculate the damage caused by speed breakers.Every school will have two speed breakers in front of it. I think it does not take more than one hour five days in a week when students are entering or exiting the school but speed breaker is there to suck our vehicles and fuels 24x7 for whole week. And don't forget how much money we are wasting in importing fuel. Real problem arise during emergency services. when someone is counting on every second in ambulance fighting with death these speed breakers will not only increase the duration ride but also sucks the comfort one should be given. At the time of fire outburst, you will be waiting for fire brigade then you will realize the cost of speed breaker.you will put speed breaker just because of few rash drivers and careless road crosser.

How do i add an electronic signature to a word document?
When a client enters information (such as a password) into the online form on , the information is encrypted so the client cannot see it. An authorized representative for the client, called a "Doe Representative," must enter the information into the "Signature" field to complete the signature.
How to use electronic signature paint?
Here is how to use electronic signature paint:
1. Get started in this tutorial, and follow all steps.
2. Take your digital signature and print it on a piece of paper, paper that is not too thick. You can use a regular paper for that. We recommend paper with the same color as your skin, as it will ensure that your signature will be easy to see. If your signature does not fit on your paper, it will be very difficult to see on it.
3. Get a paint marker. You would be surprised how much this costs, and for good reasons. We've found cheap paint markers at local craft shops. If you can't make these yourself, then get a good brand like Tacky or Wet N' Wild. You can buy these at local craft stores, or you can buy them online. We buy ours at , where it costs just $ for a ounce bottle.
4. After you've purchased and used a paint marker, take that paint marker to a surface that is not too slick for ink to adhere to, and lightly paint your digital signature onto it. This will not be too messy, and it is a good idea to paint lightly, since the thicker the paint, the more ink that will be needed.
5. Place your signature on the paper that you want your digital signature on, such as a piece of newspaper.
6. Using the tip of the paint marker, apply very light pressure to the paper with a very light stroke. The lighter your stroke, the harder it will be to see. You want it to be very lightly brushed, without the brush leaving any ink on the paper.
7. Remove the paper from the paper hol...
