What’s the best piece of advice for a bootstrapped startup?
60 useless bits of advice to the first time bootstrapped entrepreneur. Its always easier to sell product than to raise moneyThe cheapest form of investment, is proceeds from sales in excess of costs. If you are not talking to the decision maker, you are not talking to the decision maker.Execution on marketing and sales always trumps better product.Perfectionism is a disease. It can kill you.If on an operating basis, you can save your customer X in labour, you should monetarily walk away with a quarter of that value. If your product does not increase productivity, its entertainment.Customization is an opportunity to build service revenue.Only hire engineering talent after your service revenue can cover the cost, never before.Design engineering is not the same as process engineering. They are separate specializations. That is true for hard goods as its true for shipping bits down glass pipes.Every sale incurs liability.Design engineering will increase your sales, process engineering will diminish your liabilities.Packaged product is product that sells itself, installs itself and maintains itself.Anything else is service revenue.Selling and invoicing one box has the same cost as cutting one invoice for 100 boxes. Make sure you are concentrating on the 100 box opportunities. Single box you either put up on the self service model, or you can take the hit and give it away from free.A low priced introductory single box sale is detrimental to sales because a multi seat license will be priced as a discount to that price. Might as well give the single box away for free. Its never to early to product differentiate. If you know what features single users use as compared to corporate users, or what extra features corporates need, then create two products.Often all that is required for product differentiation is a change in the permissions and some branding.Back to my previous point, invoicing a 100-pack costs the same as invoicing 1 unit.If you are going to cut 1000 invoices a day, your back-office needs to be run entirely on script. No exceptions. Unless its a 1000 user license. If you are not building product, you are selling product. Any other activity is parasitic to the venture.Prospecting for leads is a singular job description.Cold calling is a singular discipline.Making sales calls is a discipline.Proposal writing is a discipline.Closing the deal is a discipline.Customer training is a discipline. And after sales support is a discipline. You cannot burden one person with all the above skills.Sales is not a solo activity. ITS A PROCESS.You do not have a sales process until the day you are confident firing your first customer.A sales person’s contact list is worth more than your product. Until your product sells itself. If one person is happy with your product they might tell 2 people about it.If one person is unhappy with your product they will tell 20 people about it.People confuse their ability to criticize with intelligence. That is why they are more prone to criticize than to praise. The balance of which is your brand equity.“Would you recommend this product to your boss?” That is the only question of value. The Wealth of Nations is built on Specialization.Do you file your own taxes? Probably not. Why then would you expect your accountant to have programming skills to use your product?. Your customer is not stupid, your customer has a different specialization.Your tool should allow them to format the information in a manner useful the next person in the corporate value chain. The product cannot be congruent with the subject matter specialist. The product has to be a good enough proxy of the subject matter, so as to allow the non subject matter specialist to operate within the value chain.Sales people and management use accounting software all day long. They are not required to be CPA’s. If that is so, why is it that the process to do a return involves six entries that only a trained certified public accountant knows how to do? A proxy for that question must be asked of all product.Products are always proxies for other specializations, even within the specialization. Never ever think that your specialist user is a specialist. 95% of accountants below the age of 40 today would not know how to do payroll. Or expect a programmer to know Hadoop...If you can get the specialists within the corporate value chain to customize the product on behalf of the non specialist users, you will have good product. But the specialists within the corporate structure, rarely if ever, will make them selves dispensable. Which is why a sales return requires three management signatures and six book keeping entries.Twenty five years ago I wrote a brilliant piece of code. It would have put six people out of work. They slashed my tires that week. Then they fired me for not being a team player.Great product will be rejected. Always. If you are not talking to the decision maker, you are not talking to the decision maker. If on an operating basis, you can save your customer X in labour, you should monetarily walk away with a quarter of that value.Everything else is entertainment. At one time the Poet Laureate was King. But soon enough making money involved writing novels. Then the money was in movies. Then in television. Then the money makers were electronic games.Fifty years from now interactive virtual reality will make people running movie studios as quaint as poet laureates. That means that if you are doing what you are really good at, tomorrow you are a scab covered street pit bull with a bad attitude on the way to the bad-dog impound. Fourteen days away from euthanasia…Bootstrapped means always being outside your comfort zone.If you are not comfortable with that, get a corporate job and pray some twenty something MBA consulting dweeb does not downsize you….Thanks for the ask! That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Is it the right time to invest in Ether?
I honestly believe it's one of the worst moments.Ethereum has never been in trouble like now and there are various reasons why I would stay away from it right now:Vitalik proposes to use BCH as a temporary chain[1]Vitalik admits that the Ethereum blockchain is almost full and that the arrival of other projects could speed up this process [2]Ethereum was born as a platform for the creation of decentralized applications. For the momentary problem of scalability, these applications cannot be used massively unless they use off-chain systems, because the Ethereum blockchain is slow and expensive and an over-use would lead to data congestion, with transactions that could be pending for hours, days or even weeks.Ethereum has become globally known for being the blockchain where start-ups could launch their own crowdfunding through an ICO. In 2019 the ICOs, unless they are BIG companies or backed by some well-known personalities, have not followed. Today's ICOs take place on exchanges and we know them in the form of IEOs (Initial Exchange Offer). The first real fix to the problem of scalability will be in January 2020 with the transition from PoW to PoS and the launch of Ethereum 2.0. However, such important technical changes have often been delayed, as happened with Ethereum for Constantinople [3]Ethereum is in second place in the market cap ranking, in my opinion, for being the first blockchain to launch smarts contract and have a platform for the DApps. However, to date, there are various blockchains or DAGs with the same functionalities, but potentially much better both in terms of speed and in terms of costs. See Quarkchain, Elastos, Harmony, Zilliqa, Matrix AI Network, IOTA, HoloChain, etc. However, there are not only negative things about Ethereum. It must be said that they have one of the largest and most active communities of blockchain developers. I love Vitalik, I think it's one of the few people in the crypto world really interested in innovation and not making money.Ethereum will earn points if in January 2020 it will successfully launch Ethereum 2.0. In the meantime, it could follow the trends of Bitcoin, because often it is so and therefore does well if Bitcoin does well.Bitcoin, however, in the past halving has always done 3X in the pre-halving year and then signNowed the new highs. We are currently in the pre-halving year and have already signNowed 3X as it has gone from $ 3,300 to $ 10,000. This time, however, it could be different because the launch of BAKKT is imminent, the launch of TON also and Facebook's Libra has brought new interest to the blockchain world. As always, nothing is predictable and these are just my considerations. Not investment advice. #DYOR.If you find the answer helpful, please leave a follow and an upvote. Thank you!Footnotes[1] Bitcoin Cash: a short-term data availability layer for ethereum?[2] Vitalik Buterin Talks Scalability: ‘Ethereum Blockchain Is Almost Full’[3] http://The first real fix to the...

What is your craziest US immigration experience?
As many of you know, the process of acquiring a student visa (F-1 visa) to the United States is nerve-racking for Indian families. Having gone through four years of college, graduating with a good GPA along with multiple summer research stints/internships, then applying to several US universities at considerable expense, and finally being rewarded with an acceptance letter from a respected school, Indian students are sometimes rejected from entering the US at the final hurdle—the visa interview at the US embassy.I recall the buildup to my interview four years ago. Many of my friends had theirs scheduled before mine, and they scared the bejeezus out of me recounting their horror show interviews involving scores of questions from grim interviewers with piercing glares boring into their souls trying to catch out any hesitation in their answers, any possible untruths. My parents did what any self-respecting Indian family does before their kid heads to an interview—they took me to a temple. And not just any temple—they took me about 1000 kilometers north of home to the searingly hot city of Baroda, Gujarat, to visit one particular Hanumanji temple (apparently this was our family God in our family temple, goodness knows why, we’re Tamils from Chennai—and I’m an atheist!)So after much prayer and puja, blessings from family members and well-wishes from friends, I stood outside the US embassy on a cloudy, muggy, summer day, shitting my pants under the narrow canopy that automatically opened over the street when it rained (a nice touch there, ‘Murica). My stomach churned as the line slowly moved forward. My heart leaped into my mouth as I passed through the gates, only to be confronted by armed security guards who proceeded to take away anything I had in my pockets—pens, coins, paper, etc. Please don’t take my clothes too, please don’t take my clothes too, I prayed silently. The guard gestured at my jeans. Resigned to my fate, I started to unzip them.“What are you doing?” he asked, amazed. “Just take off your belt and pass through the scanner.”….Finally through the gates, I was taken aback at how simple the next room looked. Then I understood why—it was just a queue room. A room for this damn queue.Half an hour later we passed into the Interview Room. People lined up in front of about a dozen booths, each with a White Man or White Lady inside (must be the Americans, I thought fearfully, please let them understand my accent). The room was air-conditioned. I was sweating. It was large and airy. I gasped for breath. Now I was in front of one of the White Men. He beckoned me forward. He smiled at me evil— no, pleasantly — it was a pleasant smile!“Hi there, how’s your day going?”He greeted me — what do I do? Is this part of the interview? Oh no, I don’t have an answer. Smile. Smiling is good. He won’t hate you if you smile.I smiled. He waited.Oh shit, he asked you a question. Answer it, jackass!“OH IT IS—you’re too loud, dolt—going well”, I whispered. He didn’t hear that last bit, but he nodded as if he did.“May I have your I-20?”“Here it is,” I breathed. He stared down at it for a minute. Then—“So, you’re going to Purdue?”Say yes, don’t say yup. And don’t shout.“YUP!” I shouted.“Ok then, you’re good to go” he said, stamping my passport.“What?” I yelped, staring at him in disbelief.“You’re good to go, sir, your application has been accepted.”You mean after all that stress you didn’t ask me a single question? Not one? Why?? Are you crazy, man? I even lied about my day, it was shitty as hell, you should quiz me on it! Make me grovel for that visa, like the bastards I know you interviewers are!“Good luck with your PhD, Mr.Raman, and enjoy your stay in the United States of America.”“Thank you,” I replied, my throat catching.I was going to America courtesy this senile interviewer. Thank you Hanumanji!

What is the biggest scam that every Indian must be aware of?
KFC - KFC people will not miss any opportunity to scam people. I had faced many instances previously and another one happened yesterday.Charged me extra without notifying me and refused to reverse the charges.I went to KFC in HSR layout. Wanted to eat a simple potato crisper. Ordered that and was TOLD that it is ₹45. Gave a 500 ₹ note. Cashier took 5–10 mins and delayed my order and then returned me ₹ 452 (not 455) saying that he has ₹10 note and not ₹5. I let it go because it was a small amount. Went to the table. While eating my food I noticed on screen display that same burger was ₹40 and not ₹45. I also noticed that these people had not given me the bill. Went back to the counter and asked for the bill. Response -”Sir, we threw away the bill. We cannot give it because it is in dustbin somewhere.” I thought something is fishy and still insisted. If not original give me duplicate bill. Lo and behold - 5 mins later the original crumpled bill was present on the counter. And what I noticed is that I have been charged ₹5 extra. Here is the picture.I asked why the 5 extra and they said it is for some hope foundation.Me: That's ok but why is it charged without asking me.KFC:Sir, this is for hope foundation.Me: but WHY is it charged without asking me??KFC: ?????????Me: please reverse the charges. I want my money back. (I was angry because they had done it without my permission)KFC: Sir we cannot do that since bill has already been generated. You should have told us at time of billing that you should not be charged for hope foundation.Me: but you did not inform me that you are charging me extra for this. You did not even give me the bill.By then manager came.Manager: sir it is your fault, you should have raised issue at time bill was generated. After a lot of arguments they said sorry but then I looked at other bills crumpled and lying nearby. All had the same included. I tried to take a picture of them also but manager said since those are not my bills hence I cannot photograph them. At least here he was correct.I returned unsatisfied.Another instance - KFC charged me ₹ 60 for an ice-cream with MRP (maximum retail price) of ₹40. Photos were uploaded on Twitter and again the same sorry response from KFC.Beware people.Another point-one customer was not happy with his chicken since it was not hot at the bottom of his tub. He had eaten the top pieces. KFC person took the chicken piece from his half eaten tub and kept it BACK WITH THE OTHERS and gave him fresh ones. If this guy was diseased I am pretty sure some other people would be sick after eating the KFC soiled food.

Why was Pakistan put under sanctions during its pursuit of nukes while India was not (at that time Pakistan was stable)?
Pakistan conducted Chagai-1 on 28th May, 1998So far, what is known is.AQ Khan stole Uranium enrichment centrifuge designs from Netherlands (who in turn got it from US, under "Atoms for peace" initiative).AQ Khan was able to get designs for nuclear warhead from China.AQ Khan sold, not only the designs, but KRL manufactured centrifuges, for following, this is confirmed, not only by spies but multiple sources:Iran - When Iran opened up its nuclear program for inspection.Libya - Gaddafi gave up his nuclear program and openly admitted to Pakistan's assistance, in hopes of lifting sanctions.NK - Pakistan gave nuclear weapon designs to NK and received missile technology from NK, as per defected scientists.AQ Khan further supplied above nations with:Highly enriched UraniumUranium hexafluorideNuclear centifugesSanctions imposed on Pakistan, were not because Pakistan conducted nuclear tests, but because AQ Khan sold stolen nuclear technology to other nations, i.e. Nuclear proliferation.India conducted Pokhran-1 on 18th May, 1974This is a very complex topic, but I will try to put forward main points.Indian nuclear weapons program was delayed at-least a decade, because Government of India did not want nuclear weapons. India was highly involved, in creation of NPT, and any kind of nuclear explosion, would have undermined Nehru’s legacy.Dr. BABA was very vocal and gave interviews/speeches on radio and got articles published in newspapers, calling for Nuclear weapons for deterrence.Nehru gave approval to build Indian nuclear reactor, in 1958, but was apprehensive about nuclear weapons. In 1960, Nehru gave permission to work on nuclear weapons designs, but with minimal funding, point here was to keep BARC leadership happy, without getting meaningful progress in nuclear weapons designs. After Lal Bahadur Shastri took over BARC, nuclear weapons program was further slowed down. And after death of Dr.BABA, Vikram Sarabhai was appointed head of nuclear program, who had Gandhian views and slowed work on nuclear weapons program, to stand still. After death of Dr.Baba, rest of BARC leadership, went into offensive mode. Perception here was, “Indian political leadership is oblivious to India's security needs”. BARC leadership, started working on nuclear weapon design, without formal approval of Government of India. Some claims have been made, that majority of calculations for designs, were done by BARC scientists in their own personal time.Meanwhile, India had already faced, 1962/1965/1967/1971, and threat of nuclear strike in 1962.Indian armed forces morale was hurt, just when Indian armed forces started pushing back in 1962, Government of India agreed to ceasefire, fearing a nuclear strike from China. At the same time, whole world ignored 3 open incidents of aggression and 1967 conflict, forced upon India. This can be blamed on Cuban missile crisis, but from Indian point of view, and specially with Tibet in mind, it was whole world betraying India’s peace initiative.Even USSR, during/after 1962, refused, to stop arming China. This was final push and Government of India finally realized, does not matter, how much India pushed for peace, India needed nuclear weapons, for its own security.During 1971 war, US and UK were on the way, to attack India and were stopped by a single USSR submarine, armed with nuclear warheads. This finally showed Government of India, the value of nuclear deterrent. On 7th September, 1972, Indira Gandhi, authorized BARC, to build a nuclear weapon and test it, ASAP.In the backdrop, during 1968-69, PK Iyengar went to USSR and visited multiple nuclear sites. PK Iyengar was most impressed with Dubna nuclear facility, specifically "Plutonium-Fueled Pulsed Fast reactor", or more commonly known as precursor to, modern "Fast Breeder Reactor". PK Iyengar pushed for Indian made nuclear reactor, under nuclear energy initiative. Finally, in 1969, PK Iyengar got approval, to start building Purnima-1, which went critical on 18th May, 1972.PK Iyengar advised Government of India, to wait a while, and to use Plutonium from India's own nuclear reactor, Purnima-1, as it was already critical. But Indira Gandhi, wanted nuclear weapon tested, and she wanted one NOW.Hence, BARC had to use Plutonium from CIRUS, which stands for "Canadian-Indian Research Uranium System", CIRUS was supplied by Canada in 1954 and "Deuterium Oxide" was supplied by US. US also supplied Uranium to India.Furthermore, CIRUS was not under IAEA, because IAEA came in 1957, while CIRUS supplied in 1954.Because India used Plutonium from CIRUS to make a Nuclear bomb, this made whole west, go nuts. Not to mention US/UK being allies of Pakistan at the time.Canada/US/UK, put economic sanctions on India.Canada outright froze nuclear assistance to India.US did not stop selling Uranium to India, but put economic sanctions. Finally, whole west got together and made NSG, to counter India. For 3 decades, India was declined assistance in following fields.Nuclear assistance (energy, medical and research)Computing technology (specifically supercomputers, India had to develop its own PARAM family of super computers)Defense assistanceSanctions were imposed on India, not because, India conducted a nuclear explosion, but because India used Plutonium from CIRUS.India conducted Pokhran-2 (Operation Shakti) between 11-13th May, 1998. Not because India needed to, because Intelligence indicated, Pakistan was getting ready for nuclear test, and this would lead to border conflict. World's reaction was:US took the lead, by pressuring India to Sign CTBT and NPT.UN economic sanctions were imposed on India.UN joined the lobby, to pressure India, to sign NPT.US/Canada/UK put economic sanctions on India.Japan joined above by putting economic sanctions on India, specifically loans/foreign investment, all of the things that Indian economy desperately needed.China called for India's nuclear disarmament by force, calling it a serious concern for international community.Pakistan cancelled talks with India.Dr.Pervez Hoodbhoy held India responsible, for Pakistan's nuclear tests.Sanctions were imposed on India, not because India conducted nuclear tests, because India tested following, under 3 days, without west getting any information about it:A Thermonuclear Device (commonly known as a H-bomb or Fusion bomb).A Plutonium Implosion Design.A Linear Implosion Design, with non-weapon grade Plutonium.2 Experimental designs, without required Plutonium (These are rumored to be neutron bomb and artillery shell).A device present, but not detonated (to ascertain the effects of nuclear strike, specifically validation of EMP shields designed from first version of KALI).In doing so, India essentially managed to validate following in 3 days:Technology required for miniaturization of nuclear warheads, to the point of a backpack/briefcase.Technology required for miniaturization of nuclear warheads, to the point of artillery shell/cruise missile.Technology required for miniaturization of nuclear warheads, for MIRV purposes.Technology required for 200kt + ICBM warheads.Effects of nuclear attack, on a country’s nuclear arsenal.Validation of EMP shield designs, which were previously tested by KALI.Confirmation of Physics/Nuclear simulations run on PARAM family of supercomputers. And all of this, without any external assistance, changed perception of India. And this topic will not be complete, without a big thank you to Pakistan. If Pakistan had not attacked India in 1999 (Kargil) and lied about it, India would have been facing economic sanctions, till this day. Kargil finally showed whole world, that India is a peaceful nation, facing aggression for 70 years, and we genuinely need nuclear deterrent.

What information do police officers look up when they pull you over?
When I conduct a car stop, I approach and request some form of identification. I prefer a driver's license, but lacking that I can work with a Social Security number or even just a name and a date of birth (bear in mind, though, that if an adult claims to not know their SSN, they're getting some serious scrutiny - this was more often than not the hallmark of someone trying to conceal their identity). With that information in hand, I return to my patrol car. From here, procedures will vary by agency, but in telling you my process know that it will be largely the same anywhere you go. I would first get on an administrative radio channel set up for this purpose and "run your information" through the dispatcher. This consisted of giving your name, date of birth, gender, race, and driver's license or SS number over the radio. The dispatcher queries their systems with this information, and checks for multiple information items:Driving Status. The Department of Revenue database is searched for your information. This record will include all the information present on your driver's license, a current driving privilege status (valid, suspended, revoked, or no privilege), and a list of traffic convictions on your record.Probation or Parole Status. If a driver is on either probation or parole, all law enforcement contacts must be documented and relayed to their P&P officer. If this was the case, dispatch would advise me of this status, give the applicable offense (very important - there will be a big difference in my proceeding actions depending on whether you're on probation for speeding or on parole for assault on a law enforcement officer), and ask for a 'response' - a message to relay to the P&P officer about your demeanor during the contact. I'll then give a very brief description of the contact - usually along the lines of, "Stopped for expired plate, cooperative, issued warning/citation and released," or whatever applies.Caution Indicators. If you have documented instances of being violent during police contact, carrying a weapon, or resisting or assaulting officers, dispatch will notify me using a specific code. This gives me forewarning about previous police contact and may prompt me to request backup or exercise even more acute caution.Warrant Status. Dispatch will query local, state and federal databases with your information to see if there are any outstanding warrants for your arrest:If so, they will see if there is an extradition limit associated with the warrant. This is the maximum distance the issuing agency will travel in order to come and get you from my jail - and depending on the charge it could be as little as a few miles or as much as nationwide. If a warrant comes up and I am within the extradition radius, dispatch will ask if I want the warrant "confirmed." I cannot arrest you based on a warrant hit in a computer system - in order for it to be actionable, dispatch must call the issuing agency on the phone and relay the appropriate information. That agency must then physically pull the paper warrant at their facility, ensure that it is still valid, and confirm this with my dispatcher. Arresting you deprives you of your liberty, which is guaranteed at the most basic level of our governance, so they have to make absolutely positive that this information is still valid; a judge could have rescinded the warrant recently before it could be purged from the system, or any number of other scenarios rendering the hit invalid. So why do they ask if I want it confirmed? The confirmation process will entail the issuing agency clearing the warrant with a note that an arrest was made; dispatch needs to confirm that the suspect is present and that I'm not just running the information in their absence. Also, there are very rarely times when I do not want to confirm a warrant based on circumstances at the scene. If a warrant is confirmed, I am obligated by law to arrest the person - if not, I have just committed a misdemeanor myself. There were very rare instances in which I told dispatch to disregard due to extenuating circumstances (I once declined confirmation on the mother of a week old baby when I found, at two in the morning, that she had a warrant for a parking violation with a $25 bond). You cannot do this lightly and must provide a reason for why the warrant was not confirmed - because a warrant is, by definition, a court order issued by a judge which says that as a law enforcement officer I "shall" arrest the person in question upon lawful contact. While dispatch is working on all of this, I will input your information into the laptop in my patrol car. I will then be able to see most everything dispatch does (in my case, just about everything except local warrants). In the case of your not having hard ID, I can search by your SSN, and if you've got a license I'll be able to see the information on it and get your DoR picture to confirm your identity. I'll also run your license plate through my computer, which will tell me whether the plates or the vehicle are listed as stolen and what vehicle they're supposed to be on.Once dispatch returns their information, I'll wrap up the stop accordingly. If there's a warrant, I will of course get another unit and begin the arrest process. If not, I'll decide whether to issue any citations, then return to your vehicle to return your paperwork and release you with either a warning or your citation(s). Law enforcement personnel enjoy what is termed "officer discretion" during a vehicle stop - they have personal latitude in whether or not to enforce a given law/ordinance in a given situation. In your listed circumstance, the officer decided not to ticket you for the stop sign or the seat belt violations, so once he ensured you were not wanted, he released you. This was probably the case in 40-60% of my traffic stops. I often initiated traffic stops knowing that, barring unforeseen circumstances, I was only going to issue a warning. This served several purposes:Reminding you to address the issue. Just because I don't issue a citation doesn't mean I have no interest in the situation at all. If your plate is expired by a month, I may not issue a citation, but the stop serves as a reminder that you'd better get it renewed sooner rather than later.Free warrant and DWI and [insert offense here] check. I have discovered many, many things inadvertently in the course of a minor probable cause stop - stolen property from a defective headlight, DWIs from failure to use a turn signal, a rape warrant from an expired license plate. Sometimes you have to fish a little - it may take fifty relatively minor stops to get something like that, but all of the intervening warnings were worth the trouble in those cases.Increased law enforcement presence. There's a reason we don't turn our lights off after we've gotten you stopped, even when there's no traffic danger. You know what happens when you see red and blue lights as a driver - you instinctively slow down and drive cautiously, if only for a mile or two. Multiply that by the number of cars passing my stop, and I've affected quite a swath of traffic. Also, criminals tend to keep their heads down with increased police presence. When I'm lighting the trees in a neighborhood up with my strobes, evildoers don't know it's just for a burnt out license plate lamp - they just know the cops are around. That might affect their itinerary for the evening. These were all factors at play in your stop. Thus, in getting a warning for your offenses, you really were a VIP - but only toward the end of increasing our perceived presence in the area you were stopped in. Your assistance is appreciated. :)

Computer Science: How do digital signatures work?
Note:The terms ‘electronic signature’ and ‘digital signature’ are often used interchangeably. However, the primary differences between ‘electronic signature’ and ‘digital signature’ are linked with signature laws and regulatory requirements. How do digital signatures work? The signature software leverages a public key algorithm to generate two keys that are mathematically linked: one private and one public. In order to create a digital signature, the software then creates a one-way hash of the electronic data to be signed. When a user signs a document online, he/she leverages the private key to create a signature. On a general basis, the private key remains under the sole control of the owner. This private key is used to encrypt the hash. The encrypted hash, along with other information, such as the hashing algorithm, together forms a digital signature. How digital signatures help validate integrityThe value of the hash is unique to the hashed data. Any change in the data, even by a single character, will result in a different value. This attribute enables users to validate the integrity of the data by leveraging the signer's public key to decrypt the hash.If the decrypted hash matches a second computed hash of the same data, it proves that the data hasn't changed since it was signed. If the two hashes don't match, then it is a clear indication of the fact that either:(i) the data has either been tampered with in some way (integrity) or(ii) the signature was created with a private key that doesn't correspond to the public key presented by the signer (authentication).

What are some backstage secrets about Kaun Banega Crorepati?
Well, This happened to be the year 2012 when my sister was selected for this game show. There are millions who aspire to appear in the game show and very few happen to make it till the very end. Being her brother, I too got a chance to accompany her and got those few precious moments to spend with super star Mr. Amitabh Bachhan on my first visit to Mumbai. Luckily my sister made it and was able to win 12.5 lakhs. Thumbs up for her..!For those who are curious or sceptical to know the exact process of selection and various pre rounds involved, I must say a lot depends on the luck. You can take 60% as your luck and 40% as your effort. In case, If you are the one who has made all odds in your way, mark it , a lot will happen right since the KBC team would visit to make short documentary ( based on pre decided theme which is only one thing not so genuine in entire process) on you , when media glare (locally/city) begin to shower upon you, when you fly to Mumbai and check in to the luxury ( decent 3 star kind of) hotel, when you start to get a feel of temporary celeb ( contestants are highly valued persons on shooting days) , when Mr. AB first appears and amid all chaos you find him walking towards you to greet or motivate you, post winning interviews and finally huge applause back home town. After all we are not used to it and it doesn't happen often. So all that is worth it!Here are few more points, which are some behind the scenes of KBC :1. Big B looks far more fair in person than on camera.2. He comes exactly on time which for a moment made me think the direct relationship between his discipline and success 3. Big B's clothes on the set are single piece made directly from the company designers and are worth more than 10+ lakhs..! 4. The KBC set looks like an abandoned bunker or atleast like a garrage from outside. However, the crew maintains perfectly balanced Air conditioning inside it.5. Post 2012, the set has been shifted to YRF , up till then, it was in film city, goregaon.6. The set of popular TV serial " Tarak mehta ka ulta chashma" is also close by and the known Gokul dhaam society is visible from the common road.7. When Big B arrives on the set, he is escorted to his cabin where he is detailed about the background of each contestants.8. He goes through the script which appears on screen and thus gets ready for episode. Meanwhile contestants are also being dressed. Everything happens with perfect balance.9. There is another cabin not adjacent to big B's cabin, where the contestant who has recently quit/won/lost the game, is made to sit till the shoot is over. There also sits the Sony channel official, who validates the authenticity or transparency of the show.10. The guy who puts the question in the computer in real time ( big speakers present) also sits with his macbook and other gadgets (sits comfortably on floor with smiling face due to paucity of space) in that crowded cabin.11. The shoot also faces frequent disturbances from the sparrows sound above the hot seat glass tranquilliser. The shoot remains halted till the staffs make rod sounds to scare them away and avoid their voice getting recorded.12. Big B keeps the environment very jovial, and never let's the crowd sit silent for long. He keeps cracking jokes. However , I sat in his vicinity from 7 a.m till 9 p.m for two long days and was a bit bored.13. The set has the facility to serve food for all the audience, staff and every single person involved free of cost.14. The famous entrance through which AB appears in the beginning is nothing but few steps on right angle. The camera is focussed towards the background screen.15. At the end, contestant's companion are allowed for the much awaited, time to meet and talk Mr.AB . He spends sometime , talks about family , accepts gifts if any, gives blessing to younger ones and meanwhile photographers keep clicking you. He also doesn't mind giving autograph on every piece of paper you have got that time.At the end , you will be satisfied with their transparency and professional service which they maintain till your account is credited and they remain in touch till they give you feedback about the broadcast and inform about the TRP ratings of the episode from contestant's hometown. These are few moments which I shared with Mr. Amitabh Bachhan. The cheque which Mr. AB signs in the show is a dummy one.Edit 1: Thank-you folks for the response and your interesting queries.

How do we know that we're not living in a computer simulation?
Because using mammals to generate energy is super inefficient. Super super inefficient. Those aliens had faster-than-light travel, so they had entire suns at their disposal. The amount of energy generated by human beings in comas would be so tiny in comparison as to be laughable.Plus, why bother to create an artificial reality? If for some reason, you specifically needed living beings, and specifically needed humans, why not just put them all in medically induced comas? And thus save yourself all the effort of creating and maintaining the Matrix world. But let's back away from the literal premise of the movie towards a more generic "are we living in a virtual world" situation. If we zoom all the way out, then the answer is definitely yes. Matter is energy, everything around us is composed of little random states of energy that interact with other states of energy. And you either know where that little state of energy is, or where it's going, but not both at the same time. Creepy! But I think there's also a middle ground, where the answer is "possibly yes." Say human being are able to build a computer smart enough to build an even smarter computer. (We're pretty much already there, in any case!) Let's say this quantum computer is powerful enough to simulate all senses to the degree that it feels real. After all, smartphone screens are already high-res enough that they look like real magazine pages! So why not? What's the first thing you're going to do when you have those kind of computers? Right -- you're going to create super realistic games. Now, when you play a game, do you prefer a game where everything always goes well, or a game where you have the potential to lose, where bad things happen? I know that, I, personally, get instantly tired of a game when I realize that I have enough lives saved up to live forever or when play is so easy that every move I make is a winning one. So, at some point in the future, we're definitely going to have hyper-realistic games that are indistinguishable from reality, complete with its up and downs. That's a given. Unless something catastrophic happens to use really really soon, we're going to have that. Now, all you need is one more step ... a game that blocks access to our memories, so that once we start playing, the game is everything, and we don't remember that it's a game. A game like that would be super compelling, wouldn't it? Now you do a quick calculation. Let say human being have invented this technology. And there was a certain period of time -- a few thousand years -- before this technology was invented. And a certain period of time -- let's say, millions of years -- after the technology was invented. Are you most likely to be alive during the earlier part, or the later part? The later part, right? So, once you decide that it's possible for us to have had invented realistic virtual reality, then it becomes extremely probable that we are experiencing it right now.Which means, that when you get hit by a bus out of the blue tomorrow, instead of the fires of hell, or the pearly gates, or nothingness, you'll wake up in your comfy arm chair, take off the VR headset and go, "Whoa, that game was a rush! It felt like I was in there for decades!"And it explains why the major religions all consider life to be an illusion, why Shakespeare called life a stage, and all the people in it merely actors, and why we're urged not to get too attached to worldly things. They're just virtual goods, after all, like gold coins you collect in Donkey Kong or the crops you grow in Farmville. And the big question then becomes -- is this a single-player game or multi-player? Is everyone else real, or an NPC?Have fun in therapy.
