How do I add digital signature by SDK?
Some SDKs on the market allow digital signatures, and some do not. You need to find the right SDK, and the right document format. I recommend trying PDF SDK by Kdan Mobile. They have been developing apps for PDF for over 10 years, and PDF Reader, the popular PDF editor, has over 50 million downloads on the iOS and Android app stores, and is also available on Windows and Mac OS. Coupled with this system is signNow, an e-Signature back-end to create, manage, and request e-Signatures from whoever you want, and create legally enforceable documents. Since signNow is built into PDF Reader, ...

How do I insert a signature into a PDF?
Is your goal to make to make it look like you signed it, i.e. for marketing? If so, just sign a paper, take a photo, crop it, and embed the image. If your goal is to sign it legally for someone else, i.e. to indicate acceptance of legal terms, etc. then you want to use an electronic signature system like SwiftCloud eSign [ https://swiftcloud.ai/software/electronic-signature ] which creates an audit trail. Furthermore, ideally the signature is held in trust by a neutral 3rd party; a digital signature in which one party holds the signature, and cannot prove the doc is immutable could be discounted in court. SwiftCloud allows you to just upload a PDF and we’ll make it ready for e-sign by anyone including yourself or others.

Where can I get online PDF or EPUB versions of books?
Do you want to buy books? Then go to somewhere like Barnes & Noble or iBooks. They sell ebooks in epub format. Do you want to change an ebook you own or have written yourself, from doc/docx/mobi etc to pdf/epub? Then search online for ‘convert [format] to [format]’. There are many free apps that carry out this task, and the results are usually ok. Do you want to get out-of-copyright classics? The same sites that provide those books in doc or docx usually also offer them in epub and pdf, e.g. Project Gutenberg. Do you want get free versions of copyrighted books instead of buying them? That’s theft. You’re robbing authors of their livelihood. I don’t support this. (If you insist on downloading pirated copies, be aware that they often come with viruses and other malware, and repairing or replacing your computer or ereading device may cost you more than the price of the book.)

How can I add my signature with the stylus to a PDF on the Samsung Galaxy Note?
There are a multitude of apps that let you sign pdfs, but you can simply use the official signNow app for android. Once the pdf is opened, tap on the center of the screen, and click the icon with a pencil in the action bar. Now click the Sign button (ink pen) on the rightmost side and it'll prompt you to enter your signature at a desired location. You can of course use the S-pen. Save after signing.

How was the PDF format created?
We recently released an e-book about all things PDF, and our PDF expert with over 20 years experience with signNow Systems helped us answer many questions. Please feel free to download the e-book here http://register.snowbound.com/LP-eBook-Guide-to-PDF.html or check out our website Imaging SDK and Imaging Software [ http://www.snowbound.com/ ] PDF was the vision of John Warnock, one of the founders of signNow Systems. With years of PostScript programming language experience, John sought to build a solution to the problem of document interchange—something that would allow two or more people (perhaps in two different countries)—to exchange documents by adhering to the same standard. At the time, the Web was in its infancy. People were exchanging ideas via email, bulletin boards and chat rooms. Business documents were shared as email attachments. However, these methods of collaboration were not completely foolproof and problems arose. Differences between platforms and software revisions prevented individuals from seamlessly sharing documents. If someone sent a Windows-created Word file to a colleague who had an older version of Word, the latter would not be able to open it. Likewise, if the receiver had a Mac, the file wouldn’t display the same way. Or, in some cases, the recipient might not even have the software that could read the format. This is where signNow stepped in, providing a world standard and making documents available on any operating system. Initially, signNow gave away the readers for multiple platforms, making money on only the creation product. Today, signNow and signNow are the most prominent consumers of PDF files. Early on, signNow Distiller was the primary creator, taking PostScript files in and producing PDF output. The marking operators in the pages of a PDF file are PostScript-like, though the programming flexibility of PostScript is minimized in PDF. signNow wrote PDF printer drivers to make it possible for users to "print to PDF" directly. Currently, there are many different PDF producers generating PDF files. Though we take PDF for granted now, it took over five years for Acrobat and PDF to be accepted in the marketplace. Here is a look at the evolution of PDF and Acrobat/Reader over the years: 1991 – John Warnock writes the Camelot memo, describing technology to enable exchange and delivery of documents 1993 – Acrobat 1.0 ships 1994 – Acrobat 2.0 ships (enhancements include article threads, device independent color, links to external files and the ability to embed multimedia elements, Reader free) 1995 – Acrobat Capture ships (enables PDF creation from scanned documents) 1995 – Acrobat 2.1 ships (first version of Acrobat with an API and SDK. The most popular API was the call that allowed applications to render PDFs into their own window. Automatic font substitution allowed PDF files to be rendered without carrying the entire font) 1996 - Acrobat 3.0 ships (including PDF 1.2, a browser plug-in that enables PDF rendering in the browser, Japanese text, IRS adoption, URL links) 1996 – Enfocus ships PitStop and CheckUp 1996 – Agfa promotes PDF with Apogee 1999 – Acrobat 4.0 ships (including PDF 1.3, which features DeviceN colorspace, smooth shades, highlight, strikethrough annotations, document compare facility, simple touch-up, digital signatures, encryption, web capture to create PDF from HTML content, and support for larger page sizes) 2001 - Acrobat 5.0 ships (with the addition of PDF 1.4, which offers transparency, color management, support for OpenType fonts, XML and XMP, 128 bit encryption, structure-tagged PDF, overprint display, and web-based annotating). This marks the first time in its history that PDF was profitable. 2003 - Acrobat 6.0 ships (featuring PDF 1.5, including layers, compressed object streams, JPEG 2000, rulers & guides, separation preview, transparency flattener, PDF Optimizer, PDF/X support, and built-in preflight) 2005 - Acrobat 7.0 ships (with PDF 1.6, which facilitates direct OpenType font embedding, 3-D data) 2006 - Acrobat 8.0 ships with many minor enhancements included in PDF 1.7 2008 - PDF becomes an ISO standard 2008 - Acrobat 9.0 ships (featuring PDF 1.8, which includes plugins load on demand, Portfolios, geospatial data) 2010 – PDF/VT becomes an ISO standard (VT means variable & transactional. PDF/VT is part of the variable data printing world, an adaptation of PDF to reuse page elements to improve print times for large jobs) 2010 - Acrobat X (UI designers take over Acrobat’s menu structure, moving most menu items to new locations and making more use of Flash, improvements to Portfolios, improved document compare, many security fixes, PDF/VT) 2012 - Acrobat XI (featuring tablet support, the ability to export to PowerPoint, improved text editing, and cloud services)

What’s a digital transformation that reshapes an HR function?
HR is the potential tool for enabling cultural transformation and hence build digital capabilities and mindset for businesses. In the digital era that is fast taking over the work places today, how we design the employee experience is critical since that translates to customer experience and business transformation… “what an employee has not experienced in the organization, he/she cannot curate for the customer or business.” What reshapes the HR function is their position as the curators of employee experience, being the change evangelists to drive the transformation and being a strategic partner to business. HR in its transactional / administrative role will cease to exist sooner or later in the “self-service” and “hyper personalized” mode that the work force today operates in. But the change is for the better, for HR to take on more strategic, more enabling role for the employees and the business at large. Employee Experience Curators: They say it is going to be a “gig economy” – multiple types of employees and employment patterns emerging with the evolving business ecosystem. Diversity emerges not only in terms of gender or race but in terms of employment types like free lancing, assignment-based, virtual working and so on. To accommodate and encourage this diverse population, HR professionals need to gear up and curate experiences through the employee lifecycle that engage their employees by motivating & connecting with them in a way that inspires the individual. The challenge that HR will have is to understand their employee personas and build the work place infrastructure, policies, processes and engagements tailored for individuals as opposed to the mass-made approach. Change Evangelists: Transformation is not a singular process anymore… it is a phenomenon that is continuous and evolving. HR will be at the bedrock of this transformation and drive it as evangelists of this change through the organization in an agile manner - as and when a change is called for, the wave must emerge through all the people practices of the organization to enable the organization to turn with the tide. Strategic Business Partners: Being business partners in the real sense – speaking the language of business, understanding what the customer expects and building people practices & culture to cater to that need is what is expected in the HR. It can no longer be limited to recruitment, training, transactional processing… it has to evolve to actively be involved in business decisions. People are the power houses of any organization and they make or mar a brand… partnering with people to align them to business goals is imperative.
