What culture shocks can a South Indian face in North India?
I am a South Indian doctor in Delhi…and sometimes I get these weird questions that surprise me.I was once inserting a cannula into a patient’s vein and at that moment of pain the patient asked me.. ‘you are not from Delhi are you?’ I told her I am from Chennai.. she asked me ‘are you married? What does sahib do?’ I was a little taken aback and asked her why she thought I was married.. ‘coz you are wearing a bindi’ she replied…I smiled at her.. thought she was ignorant and told her I am single…. A few days later one of my consultants asked me ‘you are from the south right..wearing a bindi must be compulsory there’. My reply ‘no mam it isn't compulsory.. we wear it if we like to.’…. And when someone asked me ‘what is the significance of wearing a bindi?’ all I could reply was ‘I am not exactly sure but one thing I can tell you is it doesn't mean I am married :P’ while everyone from a toddler to a octagenerian wears a bindi in the south and not wearing it makes us feel a little weird, the fact that it labels you as being married in the north is something that makes me go ‘enna kodumai sir idu’.When I came to Delhi I was wearing a chain, earrings and finger rings of gold.. one thing that I was advised ‘remove your jewellery else someone will snatch it and remove it for you’ I am not saying such crimes don't happen in the south.. but spotting women who actually wear gold chains is a rarity.. in comparison to the mota mota jewellery that we wear. How can you people live on rice??? When northies live on a staple diet of rotis and aaloo ki sabzi or paneer.. I like rice, you like rotis..so what? This probably doesn't apply to all north Indians but 4–5 people have also asked me this..They:so you are from chennai huh? You speak malayalam right.Me: no I am Tamil.. heard of ‘Tamil’Nadu??They: so it is different from kannad and Telugu also??Me: yes yes totallyThey: oh you are from Jayalalitha’s place?? Jallikattu?? Marina beach? Rajnikanth?Me: thank god yes you finally got it… marina beach is our pride and you can always find Jayalalitha there :PThe dressing and make up that people do here is pretty much diverse from the south.. not that I am judging or anything. That's just you, this is just me.. as long as you don't judge me for not being like you, it's fine… but how often do you see a woman with labour pains walk into the labour room in a government hospital with make up at 3.30AM in the south? Never… and it is a common sight here. And I thought it happened only in Hindi serials :PPS. The above mentioned facts are based on personal experiences and not any generalized comments on north Indians. One more thing that also shocks me is the amiability of the people in the north. They can talk to anyone at anytime without any hesitation and make them feel warm. Kudos to that! :)

Why can't some people dance?
Thanks for the A2A, Jay Yadawa . I’m going to answer “Why can’t some people dance?” on the basis/assumption that everyone physically can if they want to, but for some reason, they “cannot even if they want to”.Before I answer, let me indulge a little in my dancing background:I’m 31. I started entertaining the idea of being a dancer when I was about 13 to Britney’s “Baby One More Time” on the stereo in my cousin’s living room to dismal—if not hilarious—effects. It was not until the ripe-old age of 18, during college, that I found music I liked listening to, rhythm and beats that made me feel like moving my body.It was only then I started dancing in public, but usually at festive events, parties or clubs. Even so, I don’t really dance by myself in my room, unless I wanted to practise a specific move.I currently dance various genres, such as Lindy Hop, Blues, and a mash-up of things I picked up from my Ballroom and Social Dance courses back in university. I have also tried Ballet, Capoeira (Angola & Regional), Hip Hop, Modern Dancing, African Tribal Dancing, Contact Improv, Tap Dancing and what have you.I used to club quite a lot as well, and music DJs have specifically invited me to their shows just because I would be the odd partygoer who’d station herself by the DJ booth to get the party started…..for the rest of the eveningIn terms of skills, I have joined small competitions, and although I have won mainly bragging rights, what pleased me the most was when I was asked by dance instructors to teach.I don’t hold classes, but I have joined many beginners classes for the purpose of observing myself and others, as well as guide newbies to get comfortable with the music and rhythm. This also helps in understanding the very crucial partner connection in a dance.I find that how we interact in a partnered dance also reflects on how we view interpersonal communication in general. So, for me, dancing helps better myself as an individual and relationship partner as well.Moving on, if you want a summary of my following essay, feel free to scroll right to the bottom. So, why can’t some people dance?I used to wonder about this phenomenon myself years ago, when I first started dancing. You see, I’m not exactly the best dancer on Earth. As natural as many might consider me to be, I had my awkward start as well. Yet, give me the right tune and rhythm and beats, and you’ll have a hard time trying to keep me still or holding this conversa—A brief interruption:Now, besides the music factor (re: above) and the whole confidence factor which can be overcome through regular practice……I would like to address what’s most obvious to me whenever I dance, socially, with certain people (including those who are not beginners with the technique):A) THEIR OBSESSION WITH PERFECTION / FEAR OF LOOKING SILLYAs a preamble, I think when most people (especially who aren’t natural dancers) think of what it means to dance, they think of the above two examples (of solo dancing) or that a good dancer must be able to achieve the level as seen here:But what most people, especially those with a perfectionist or competitive streak, don’t seem to realise (or may forget sometimes) is that good dancing can also be as simple as this:As you can see, the couple above genuinely enjoy each other’s company and the music they groove to; they prioritise fun over any structure that’s traditionally or conventionally considered to be ideal. The same concept goes for the following mano-a-mano friendly dances:Rikard and Nathan at BIG BANG SWING 2018 << sorry you gotta watch this on FacebookA different same-sex partnered dance, Lindy-Hop style:Paradoxically, just by messing around or up a little, going with the rhythm and beats organically, we make something even more beautiful to watch or to experience, than if we were to try hard to perfect our every step or move. This brings me to my second point, which is…B) THEY TEND TO THINK TOO MUCHYes, I know we’ve read this advice a million times elsewhere that it’s a cliche. But what it means is that we need to remember that dancing as a sport is a visceral, bodily one. It’s not an intellectual, mind-driven activity. If you want to think about your steps, do it before or after you perform or sparingly as you go with the flow of the music, not during the dance. (Otherwise, whoever is dancing with you or watching you can tell that you’re busy calculating or are lost in your head. You’re not present, basically.)The music dictates your dance moves, so pay attention and match your body to its language. This would also mean you need to trust your body to know instinctively what to do. You would need to listen to what it has to “say” through its interpretation of the music you hear, and just do it, so that you won’t…C) [THEY] MOVE WHEN [THEY] DON’T FEEL LIKE ITDancing is highly emotional. So you also need to pick music which resonates with you, in the moment. But do not confuse this with the common excuse of “Oh, I don’t feel like dancing, so I won’t even try.” Oftentimes, we need to get ourselves moving to properly feel or get into the groove of things. You need to fight the inertia of your comfort zone.D) THEY LET THEIR FEAR / EGO GOVERN THEMThis ties in with Point A and B.That said, while we do dance best when we “feel” like it, we grow best as dancers when we give any genre or move/technique a chance. Even if you’re very experienced in one type of dance, you’ll see that your dance vocabulary for that particular dance expands and that you formulate your own signature style when you break old habits and really try to move your body in new or different ways—made possible only when you pick up different genres, movements and/or steps.Moral: If you don’t try, you won’t know; if you don’t fail, you won’t grow.E) THEY ARE AFRAID OF INTIMACYThis is especially common with those who grew up in conservative, traditional communities. Oftentimes, they’re conditioned to think that intimate physical contact is taboo and should be a sacred exchange between committed or married romantic partners. Or, basically, you shouldn’t simply touch random strangers, or let them “feel you up” in any “inappropriate” manner. And you shouldn’t also touch or express yourself in “inappropriate” ways.I talk a bit more about this concern in the summary below.SUMMARYCommon reasons why anyone who is biologically fit and/or able “can’t dance” (and how to deal with them):NervesBreathe. Really, really breathe.Relax.Pick up yoga to improve bodily awareness, to get comfortable in your own skeleton and skin, and to really stay in the moment/be present.Self-consciousness/ShynessSir Think-a-lot should try to relax first, and concentrate on the music. Listen to what the body is saying in response to the music.Just do it.Especially to music you like or enjoy.Seriously.Fear of intimacyIn certain cultures or family upbringing, people are conditioned to fear their own sensuality or sexuality, or that of the other whose energy they are exchanging with (even if it’s just a dance or creative performance).I understand that this psychological or mental block is not easy to overcome, but it must be done, one way or another, to freely express oneself physically to the fullest. One needs to remember that our creative energy at its most potent is highly sexual, and it’s neither a positive nor negative thing.Energy alone is impartial to morality or human judgement. It is what it is.Your intent is to create, based on what you sense: Stay focused on that intention, while remaining detached yet fully engaged in the pure artistry of the music and dance, and you will create simply that: a pure and beautiful work of art.Technicalities over InstinctsBeginner dancers tend to concentrate on their footsteps or what’s being taught to them. By doing this, they end up leading with their heads/brains instead of their chests/hearts/body.Yes, you should understand well the principles of any dance, and learn all you can theoretically. But you must always remember to find the fun in anything you do.Kinesthetic intelligence is not exclusive to raw talent and can be honed, by constantly letting go in the moment. There is such a thing as over-practice: it usually has to do with perfectionism. So embrace the possibility of failure, or failure itself, and dive deep. Let it go.Trust your instincts. You can’t dance and analyse at the same time.Improvise as much as you can, but only when it feels right.Trying too hard / ImpatienceJust go with the flow. Go with what you’re comfortable with, and experiment gradually, one step at a time. It’s easy to try to do too much, too quickly, out of eagerness/over-excitement (or, again, fear of failure).Master the basics before trying to pull anything fancy. Know your foundation above all else.Lacking experienceFor beginners, often it’s also a case of not trying often enough or hard enough. You’ve got to put yourself out there, no matter what happens (or has happened before).Sometimes, even the most experienced of us can still commit any of the above mistake, especially when we take our dance skills for granted.Never get proud or over-confident: Keep your ego in check. There’s always something to learn from the people or movements or dancers around you.Always be open to learning, even if others (or you) think what you see is lame.Overall, the solution to all of the above, the fine balance which we all seek, is something we can only find through experience, awareness and wisdom. So keep dancing, my friend; you can do it!I hope this helps; let me know if you’d like any edits or elaboration. Also read:Jolin Kwok's answer to How can I get better at dancing and how can I know I'm getting better?

What do you like and dislike most about your job?
Hmmm. I have a great personal advantage of working at home (App Programmer). So that's my favorite part. Ultimately I work probably an extra 5-hours per week total working out of the house when all things considered, but since it's all broken up in time (I can get up, get the mail, run an errand, take a break whenever) it just seems so much better. I talk on the phone and Skype a lot, so social interaction doesn't seem to be an issue for me. With less distraction, I feel that the chunks of time I do my work are higher quality, faster results than in an office dynamic. The dislike portion is you definitely make less money freelancing on average than going into an office everyday. The offset logic to myself is that my quality of life I feel is 10-x higher not spending over an hour a day in the car, an extra hour each day preparing to leave for work, get ready and "calm" down when I get home at night. At some points in my career commuting was up to 2 hours a day. That's an incredible amount of wasted life time and I was generally too "tired" when getting home at 6:30 pm to want to do anything after eating dinner. I also detest the time consuming process of getting new clients which I now have to do myself. Freelancers have to jump through a lot of hoops in todays virtual world where I am now bidding against people from not only across town, but completely different economic regions like India, Pakistan and Russia. They typically produce work at 40% less than Americans can because their cost of livign is signNowly lower. The plight of our economic downturn is that our home-based workforce are many times displaced engineers and highly qualified people whereas in emerging economies in programming, they are the least trained, experienced and "software mills". So that's my largest challenge overall is competing against those odds.I can depend on first time clients looking for app developers choosing the cheapest way possible and I lose 99% of those bids. However, on 2nd or more project clients who have had some experience, then come back for more "qualified" freelancers and understand they get what they pay for. America has at this time, the largest intellectual glut of underused talent sitting in their homes either under employed through layoffs, downsizing or frankly their age. With Freelancing and virtual economics of industry happening now, remote work with talented people is really happening every day and I feel is on the precipice of becoming the "norm" in the next decade. There is a lot to be said aout think tanks working in the same room. After 15 years of working p/t and now even f/t out of my house, I can tell you from my IT experience its rubbish and just not true. Skype meetings are 20-30 minutes shorter, to the point, no social BS and milling around and the work is purer in my opinion. Again, you need to be someone who doesn't need social interaction every 10 minutes to hear about people's puppies and kids 50 times a day, but I think most of use don't really need that anyhow and when I do, I actually ask them the questions now :)I think as little as just 3 0r 4 years ago, saying you worked from home had a stigma of "not being good enough" to work in an office or that you don't have a 'real' job. I feel from my personal experience now that most people seem to have changed a bit and now say that I am lucky or that they wish they could work from home. Most times they follow it up by saying there is nothing they do at work they couldn't do at home with a computer and printer. The printer part gets me, most can e done with .PDFs now anyhow including edits, comments and signatures. I only turn my printer on about once a month now. Larger companies are starting to capitalize on this notion slowly but steadily. Friends working for high IT positions (fully management with dozens of reporting employees) are now home based. This includes Verizon, Apple, Microsoft, signNow, Northrop-Grumman and many others. Companies will experience lower and lower overhead of maintaining large offices of non-interacting departments in favor of home based work. I think the largest barrier is just the 1950's mentality of them fearing not knowing how to gauge if an employee is working. Supervisors just can't walk up and down a line of cubicles anymore. Now its based not an hourly "presence in your seat" approach, it's simply based on results. You had xx work to do that week, did you do it? Recently my close friend for a very large law office had to take a leave of over a year to help take care of her elderly and ill parents that needed a little help for a few minutes just about every hour of the workday. She finally had to accept that it wasn't going to change any time soon (parents needs) so she decided to become bold with her company. They still really wanted her back and often said the department was not doing as well as when she was present, even with a temp-replacement. So she called her manager and explained her situation, that although working non-stop 7 hours a day is impossible for her, spread out over a day where she can help her parents, prepare lunch for them, etc. essentially working when she can, and over weekends - she'd have no problem putting in her realistic 50-hours a week she was working previously. All she needed was a printer, a desk and chair and a computer with 2 monitors. She said she was willing to take a 10% pay cut and the company pay for her home office equipment and supplies. The manager said they'd discuss it and in an hour called her back saying they were willing to try it for a month since her type of work was really assessed on a "weekly results" anyhow, that turning in all the work on Monday instead of Friday allowing her the weekend, wouldn't really impact them. That was almost 8-months ago and they are happy, she is happy and they gave her a 3% raise because they felt guilty she took a pay cut and she is handling more work than ever. The key here is that she is working less than the 50 -hours she used to work, no commuting and she saves a ton on dry cleaning and nice work clothes as she was in the Executive offices area. So the pay cut wasn't really noticeable to her, so in this case, she's actually come out ahead, is less pressured, taking care of her parents needs and is a lot more relaxed. In the end, personally, my likes outweigh my dislikes in my count 10-1. The money is a big issue of course, but I do what I like to do and when I want. Freedom like that has its costs, and it usually is in the form of a regular reliable paycheck amount. I am working on how to more efficiently base my projects so that they have a little overlap and paychecks are more consistent without little gaps.

Does the popularity of a writer on Quora affect the number of books he is selling? How big is that effect?
Yes, it’s complicated though in how to make a substantial sales number and monetary income. You have to curate your answers, design the text itself which means that you have to have some foresight about what you’re doing. Designing where and whom it’s going to as much as possible with the return intent of your brand, marketing plan or a direct sale.I have a wide range of books for sale across many vendors—-Amazon, Barnes and Noble, eBay and several smaller bookstore chains for both paperback and EBook/digital books. I only discovered Quora a couple of years ago though my membership is much longer. I didn’t know what it was because many, many, many things are attached to my specific Kyle Phoenix email accounts then I clicked on it one day and understood what it was.At the same time I was in the 8th year of my own blog The Kyle Phoenix Show Blog an offshoot of The Kyle Phoenix Show TV series, it too in it’s 8th year. The challenge with producing media(a TV show episode a week, 52 weeks a year times 8 years (now times 10)) is that I’m always looking for content, trying to find ways to purpose content. While yes there was also the Kyle Phoenix Videos on YouTube, Sclipo, Metacafe and others—-I was starting to run dry on what I could do, explore, was interesting to an audience.I am also challenged with cross-pollinating my content in manageable ways that create a synergistic whole. If you go to one venue you should be able to easily navigate or become aware of the others. If you Goggle or web search my name you should get natural #1 to 10 search results of me through SEO (that sounds “simple” but it’s like a web based ratings fight to infuse good, valuable, searchable content and have whatever new you create attach to that and enhance those listings/searches.)So by my Quora writing debut I was looking for new ideas, topics and synergistic relationships to expand marketing and branding. make no mistake Quora is marketing and branding, which has increased over the past couple of years to the whole membership with the sponsored/focused ads you see in the Home Stream.Though I am a small operation if you read some of my other posts, article, blogs, I have an IT/corporate work history before my foray into education and my parents owned and operated several businesses while I was growing up, encouraging me to start businesses including a small national one by the time I was 14.I say all of that to then qualify as I say I keep a deep insight level of analytics on every platform that I release my work too.One of the check points I’m looking at when I consider whether or not a platform is appropriate for anything Kyle Phoenix related in content, services, etc is the breadth of the platform and the depth of analytics that I can pull from it. Most importantly I’m looking at paralleling analytics—-which goes to the specific question of tracing content creation/posting, my Quora work being viewed by 3.5 million and its infusion to my SEO which is again a re-infusion (hopefully) back to the other Kyle Phoenix platforms. My overall design is that there are no stragglers in my portfolio of relationships and the relationship must have a long term potentiality. The long term existence of a platform is because of that synergistic relationship. When I put in a book or announce on a TV show episode that my work is on Quora—-I have links/logos etc.—-a viewer/reader must be able to follow that through. I say that so infaticly because I’m very time conscious.A TKPS episode from 2018 will exist in reruns after first run syndication on the Time Warner/Spectrum cable system, then on Facebook, Twitter & Instagramthen my blog, and on my YouTube channel. As marketing platform then, Quora has to be durable to that time now, 2018, to as far as say 2028, because I will have to incorporate so much of announcing, promoting and back-linking to it, the Quora platform. Now that you have insight into my operation and thinking: does it increase my published/EBook sales?Yes it does.It also increases my TV show viewership directly on the Blog/YouTube where episodes are located and I’m slowly experimenting with incorporating videos/links to Quora answers. It also increases my sales because I can directly talk about books—-fiction and non-fiction as part of a writing question and answer/tutorial and outlining of my writing and production process.Further outlining the production and writing process does multiple things for my publishing arm of my company:it allows me to articulate processes (I’ve written on here about the Michael Gerber E Myth intensive business development process I’ve gone through-—taking all of 2017 to complete a back-sight, oversight, insight, forecast and planning)it allows me to capture followers, potential readers/watchers on here and on other spaces like Facebook, YouTube and my private mailing list when I communicate privately with people (an amazing variety of simply casual readers, all the way up to billionaires!)it supports my blog by the fact that I mirror entries from here to there as the central hub of blog/article/post writings. I think this is an important point if you are constructing a portfolio and/or looking at monetizing your work or potentially so.One, you must have as much proprietary ownership of your work as possible. (I read the terms and conditions and print it out and it sits in it’s Quora binder which is a print out of all of my entries here—-as both a detailed list and yes, a full print out of the blog/article/answer from here including the pictures.I also back up all of these answers into separate files into subject folders. Because a chunk of my work is monetized and another chunk therefore monetizable, I treat all of my output with a ruthless business respect and recording and control.I offer this because of the above continuity throughout the media AND the fact that platforms may/will go out of business and you don’t want to lose all of your content. (Within that you might also create things which are found objectionable on one platform but not another. Your work can’t be deletable permanently by the behest of a singular platform.)it allows me to incorporate and therefore monetize this Quora content in other formats across my portfolio of media outlets. I’ve turned Quora Answers into YouTube videos, TKPS TV show episodes, it’s paralleled on my blog and I also have lifted answers wholesale for chapters in non-fiction books. It acts as a library warehouse —-which from the digital and physical material I have and peruse, I’m looking at turning into it’s own book of essays.I know a simple question has so many facets.Mainly because people who are starting out in publishing often think in very plodding, binary terms, about publishing itself:Write book, publish book, sell book, get money, perhaps repeat.(Literally my wall, mind, computers, looks like this as I merge, compare, consider and synergize multiple platforms and media types. Often platforms answer similar questions but in different languages. Blogs and Quora answer how many views differently than the cable TV show does so re-translating it back up the line to gauge effect is often a project within itself platforms have (or you can design) a chart from your Day One and compare what it was before Quora posts, during and after. The specificity of the platforms analytics make this task tedious, easy, fun, insightful, enlightening or all of them once. I’m big on printing stuff out and doing binders that I have file cabinets for and that I regularly update. I also have digital files and comparative spreadsheets that I create because the information will be disparate.Like Amazon can tell me what and generally where a book of mine was sold. But it doesn't have who—-sex, age, race, etc.. YouTube does, deep demographics. Quora doesn’t. Facebook Analytics does. Time Warner/Spectrum gives me a rough number ,500,000 viewers, but not demographic specifics unless I go into their analytics and tweak out my sliver of time, 28 minutes on Thursday, able to be live streamed seen through the studio MNN.org.)(Always, always always be marketing…and analyzing your data…..)In fact, publishing is more like—build audience blog, TV show, videos, etc.write book, break out chapters for blog, build blog audience, build LinkedIn, Facebook, Quora, Instagram, Twitter audience—-constantly and consistently—-forever.publish book, include backlinks in your email signature, your text signature, the back of your head. “Kyle Phoenix”—-business cards, pamphlets, brochures—-networkers, in passing, cocktail parties, stuffing into free newspapers and guides and even paid magazines when and wherever you aresell book, digitize book, double your profits—-royalties and affiliate sales of your own product—-like being a hooker who also runs an Uber—-get them coming and going.make videos about book plot/content,do book signings, sell books,do book presentations, gather email addresses, purchase Constant Contact and Sendlane books and memberships to mail out announcements about newsletter which highlights book chapters, design and send out newsletter linkssend out newsletter PDFs(contemplate) weekly/monthly newsletter and/or yearly magazine (digital)experiment with e-newsletter (Dan Kennedy advice)agree to back links to your blog from other peoplesell books, post on Quora and mention past and forth coming books which gives readers a deep insight and therefore sparks interest in past, present, future books, answering Quora questions and mentioning books, mentioning name/Hashtag (passive branding) allows one to target a specific demographic (much like Facebook) does by reasonable sense of age, gender, sex, sexuality, race, socioeconomic levelssell books, capture and analyze data and operational influences from one platform to another,e-tool, re-hype, readjust posts (marketing strategy),maintain and monitor SEO,sell books, curate comments sections of all platforms to avoid junk/spam comments, sell books, notice several other people are selling your books on EBay—-at a higher price that you don’t get royalties on,fume as you’re proud that you’re getting big enough and popular enough to get re-sold,monitor to insure that there are no illegal copies/pirated copies of work though you expect like EBay sellers there will eventually be a small percentage where you will fume and be proud in the same moment, sell books, fume-proud as your book gets over-cut priced on Amazon (I see a book for $9.99 someone else sells a copy for $20.99—-which I may have autographed. Did I get a royalty on that? Once, yes. But It’s now potentially being sold multiple times. So I get $2 and the book itself, now a singular product separated from the Collective of my Business (which is what allows the back channeling of royalties) gets sold multiple times—-up to so far I’ve seen about $29 in cash—-that I made maybe $2 off of, Amazon $7 and the re-seller $20.)ship free copies to people, reviewers, influencers, stores, groups and potential bookstore partners, offer partners/other businesses to include them in your synergistic machine which means half a dozen platforms, TV show, blogs, Tweetssell booksrepeat process for entire catalogue of books (I have about 100 so far published with another 50 to 150 coming out through 2020. You quickly learn that publishing is a mass numbers game and that other arms of my media portfolio help to compensate for the fact that publishing is a long game of profit not always immediate so I have to do other things (show, blog, videos) to generate revenue to pay for all of the upfront costs of publishing books.)I forgot to add audio books—-I’m recording them now in studio.I also forgot podcasts—-again recording in studiosell books.repeat, repeat, adjust, repeat, repeat, adjustNow you see why it’s a complicated Yes answer.Yes, I’ve done a lot of work before Quora and before I started publishing books in 2013 that allows me to focus attention to myself to the books themselves. That time has taught me strategies online and offline to sell books better and more efficiently and use marketing time and money. I can maximize Quora and infuse it into an overall Kyle Phoenix Effect to generate sales. You can do it too.I maximize all of the below along with Quora to report blogs/articles and book info/pieces.Recently looking at analytics—-a Quora post about my mother is doing better than one about Oprah. Go figure! But that’s two different demographics—-my mother’s post seems to have a lot of international views/Upvotes. The Oprah one is a combination of pop culture and business interest.I do think about how a Quora post will be received and if I can reference my books or content when I consider questions to write about which means of nearly 1300 posts, about 1000 reference back in some way.But you’ll have to develop a system to do so. I’ve made a lot of money online but it took time, ingenuity, understanding bits and bobs and pieces of internet possibility and synergistic abilities. I haven’t even included used book sales and affiliate marketing. My VisionThis is how I look at my work, my brand, my products, my signNow—-actually I use a Star Trek metaphor and have yes, a binder outlining shuttles, runabouts, starships, deep space stations, moons and planets and the associated products/platforms in terms of signNow, content and connectivity to others and each other.I see Quora essay/article as a Shuttle/craftand if the numbers pop over say 3–5k views, a runabout. It’s got warp legs (distance) to it.A blog post/article is a runabout because it’s small, compact but can travel far with hyper linkage back to the starship (book) or hubs—store, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc (deep space station). Based upon size and scope my Quora page is a small space station and I’m constantly looking at creating/co-opting design moons, planets and eventually Dyson spheres to act as bases to launch all of this insanity forth. And that I have greater content, context and censorship control over. Which is why I keep Quora a small space station. All your eggs in one basket and such….Michael Gerber, taking one through the E Myth Development process to improve your business (there’s books, PDFs, videos, it’s very exciting and intense), tells us entrepreneurs to STOP on a day.I did.You STOP on your day—-mine was November 2016 and use their process—-7 Phases to evaluate your business/production/product through. Then pretend it is Day One from whenever you created whatever you have. Mine was 2003 when I was making $50k a year on the side selling books, DVDs, CDs online and wanted to work smarter rather than shipping/working harder so I began infusing dropshipping into my business and then developing products I had created myself to sell.E-Myth asks: What would you do differently then if you knew what you know now?It took me a year to do that processes and re-construct my business as a planet, moon, space station, fleet of starships with runabouts and shuttles.I recommend you find your own insane analogy for your book and Quora and design from there.(Yes, somewhere in this mess is a manuscript called Life Strategies where I reviewed like 100 business books with developmental slants on them. Yet to be released. I have literally hundreds of books unreleased.)To that final point, I know the above sounds like a lot outlined—-and I’ve really outlined only an overview portion pertaining to Quora. But remember you’re looking at me as 6 years of book publishing, 10 years of social media marketing/content creation, 15 years of online selling and marketing and 25 years of entrepreneurship.Wherever you are in your process START and month by month, week by week, day by day build a brick at a time. You can see if you type me into Google and note without hashtag, with hashtag, with key words, etc the listings of stuff and because of the vagaries/people on the internet I’m number one present on my name but that took close to 10 years to establish, hold, and constantly know how to infuse into to maintain.I will also add that I have been writing for well over 30 yeas. I love to write. I love it in so many dimensions and Quora not only has been a tool/platform back into my professional work but I use it for a release valve. Think of it this way—-I’m a professional ballerina, Broadway performer but sometimes I like to come to a disco and just DANCE.Quora is where I dance, I play, I don’t have to Nazi edit myself or my work, I work out thoughts and ideas. I have fun.Yes, 2000–5000 word essays and thoughts are “fun” for me.Have fun with your work, with the exploration of platforms and with Quora….and back-link like a mofo….#KylePhoenix#TheKylePhoenixShow

Q. What is the most amount of money paid by a company to have their product placed into a movie?A. Heineken paid $45 million dollars for product placement in the James Bond movie Spector.Movie & Film Product Placement — What’s the Cost and What’s the Value?Product placement in film is everywhere. That billboard Iron Man destroys while flying through it— whatever brand is on that billboard paid to be there. (In the latest Xmen movie there is a semi-super blatant example of this in the final fight scene). At least three times a movie I annoyingly pause the TV to point out the subtle branding ... What are the biggest tracker networks and what can I do about them? When you visit a website, you are of course observable by the site itself, but you are also observable by third-party trackers that the site embeds in its code. You might be surprised to learn that the vast majority of websites include many of these third-party trackers. Websites includ...
